It got more support also if you think about it nephethys destroys backrow garunix monsters it use to be very oppressive with gy shenanigans now we have DPE.
I always forget that Ganesha and Island were support released years after the rest of the deck was. They feel just so natural to the strategy, you’d think they always were there.
Just like the new Dark World Gatekeeper. That card literally just got revealed 2 days ago and it already feels like it was the core of Dark World since 2010.
I was expecting this episode for a long time cause I remembered about Cimo's deck profile. That Fire King profile was like the start of his channel. I find it really cool to come full circle (of the fire kings) like this, and it would have been even cooler if he played his own list from that time. A bit sad that he got crushed that bad by Dark World but it's okay! I find it immensely interesting to discuss what decks where people's "first" deck or what they played first when coming back to the game, or their first pet deck, because these are often what defines people's views on Yu-gi-oh, their way to deckbuild, if they like control or aggro, etc. And looking back on these, you can see how much you grew from these old decks into what you play nowadays.
I love dark world. That was the deck that brought me back to yugioh for a few years. I played basically this same deck except without dark smog and the skill drains. I think i had a silva, another beiige, cruch card was in the main deck for me, and a something else that i dont remember.
This is the EXACT format I came back to competitive play, ane my first training montage on dueling book was me playing fire king or dual axis fire fist and getting shit on by this exact darkworld list by 2-3 people who just so happened to be religious darkworld players. So much nostalgia
Also, of you were on DN back then I may have played you with my Bujin deck. I seem to remember another darkworld player that played main silva and crush card but no skill drain or smog that would destroy me any game that I didn't draw literally every out, and since I didn't play d d crow it was even worse.
Just goes to show how insane of a card Gates is, and why Dark World is boom or bust Get rid of Gates, then it just seems the deck is a tad bit too slow to go off, even with Smog
Well it's a good deck but if you don't see a discard effect card then it was a dead fish and smog only works if there is a monster in gy. That was my problem playing this deck. Plus mirror matches you actually only wanted to play cards that made you discard not your opponent.
And now with the new cards from the coming Structure Deck R we now even get a searcher that discards itself to search Gates and special summons itself when it is banished.
