It doesn't seem to have that cold sterile sounds that serum has, so there's that. I like it.
Thank you. I’m getting the new one it’s on pre order. Cant wait. I love korg synths. My first workstation was the Korg X 3
Excellent review video!
Thank you Marc!
Great video as always thanks
Thanks Dave 🙏
This Korg sound is the perfect in-between sound between the Icarus 3.0 [from Tone2] and the Serum [cold as steel].
If only it had pure warm analog synthesis attached to it, the mix would be perfect. [Maybe in version 3, let's keep our fingers crossed.
Great overview, thank you. I've just bought the modwave native, I don't have the hardware. I absolutely love it. Still getting to grips, but, as Tefty says, it is one of the best wavetable synths there is. I have a Hydrasynth and the two are great together because you can use the polyaftertouch on the hydrasynth on the modwave for even more awesomeness.
Cool! Hopefully they’ll update either the editor or the plug-in in the future. Love the filters on this synth, that’s a major reason why I bought it
Fantastic!!! New suscriptor. 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍
Nice video.
A couple of points about transfering two and fro the modwave and native.
If you have used a custom wavetable, you also have to export this as well, else the importing synth will list the wavetable as and will not sound.
Like the way how Arturia integrate the MiniFreak in their VSTi.
And i does not costs anything :D
Better at Korg: I could buy the plugin without owning the hardware. Maybe Arturia does this as well in future.
Yup, from personal experience so far, the MiniFreak integration is basically everything you could possibly ask for, aside from having to purchase the hardware for plugin access. The Modwave is really fun to program so I hope it gets better integration *fingers crossed*
Thanks for watching!
Good video 👍.
Great video. Bought the Modwave almost two years ago now and gonna get the Native soon. I see this video is 10 months old. Have they updated it with further integration? "Crossing my fingers"
Great vid and points. I find it interesting, though, that you talk about the Modwave and the opsix, but not the Wavestate, which also has the same kind of hardware/software integration, and I think perhaps the same clunky workflow limitation when moving between the hardware an software. In any case, though, it’s really great to be able to develop a patch in software and move it to the hardware - and vice versa - even with the extra steps it requires. I wish more manufacturers would offer this kind of flexibility (and yes, I know that Arturia has done it for the MiniFreak, and now Waldorf has added the functionality to the little Streichfett). Cheers!
Yup, didn't mention Wavestate because I didn't buy the plugin. But yeah, I wish Korg would take the same approach as the MiniFreak or at the very least make the plugin parameters move with the associated hardware controls.
Thanks for watching!
Korg has been optimizing performance. Also, I bought a new, high-performance laptop. OpSix runs fine now. I grabbed the demo of Modwave Native and it is also fine and really cool, too. So I bought it since it is on sale. The randomizer makes some creepy soundscapes.
Great video, is there any ideas as to whether or not there will be any integration with the Hardware and VST, like Arturia MiniFreak for example?
Thanks
It's frustrating not being able to control all the parameters from the hardware
Thanks for the review. The Korg website suggests that the VST and Hardware are "fully compatible" and offers "and complete DAW integration". So..... what's going on?
Any update on the integration situation?
It would make sense the hardware integration be more fleshed out with software
Just wish the controls on the panel effected the plugin params 😭
Here I was thinking I was doing it wrong or my hardware was defective. Turns out it just doesn't interact with the software. I wish Korg would just do the octaves at least cause that's something used a lot but has no clear way to be modified in the native. Under the performance tab in the native app I can see octaves but it just says "can't be edited". tf?
in this video this lady shows the integrity between the hardware and the wavestate native - ua-cam.com/video/FRIf3OBSHgA/v-deo.htmlsi=0HIt8INdm3-6zO9u&t=51
The OpSix app is a resource hog on many systems. I am pretty disappointed in it. I got it for fifty bucks, too. when it was released. I think it might be related to the wave animations, which is sort of dumb in my opinion. Who cares about wave animations? All I want is a plugin that works on my laptop (engineering type with a Xeon CPU and Quadro graphics card).
Of course they’re the same.
It’s digital. The keys version is Only an over-priced version 2:42 of the software. The reality is, the software is ultimately adjustable, re-finable, update-able and…the hardware is not.
Whether or not your external gear-connected-creates variance in sound, is..:.at best…really secondary.
