    Andy just found your channel , I have a Vespa Elettrica scooter which like the Twizy charges from a 13 amp 3 pin plug , I’d like to use a type 2 public charger and I’m wondering which of the type2 to 13 amp cables you would recommend . Cheers .

    • @JakeM218
      @JakeM218 3 роки тому

      Did you ever get one for your Elettrica?

    • @davidnewbrook8628
      @davidnewbrook8628 3 роки тому

      @@JakeM218 no Jake I’ve found that I’m using the scooter for a daily commute of 20 miles and charging at home every night , the scooter has a range of 44 miles and I’ve not really needed the type 2 to 13 amp cable , but never say never hey .

      @@davidnewbrook8628 Mant thanks for the reply! I’m getting my Elettrica soon and was worried about range anxiety, but in all honesty, I’m probably never going to be doing more than 20 miles in one go anyway - so I’ll probably put the cable converter on the back burner as I probably won’t need it then.

    :) I’ve got a Twizy ATM and it’s come with windows but I can’t work out how to install them. Do yours sit on mounts or do they install directly into the doors. Bit confused and there isn’t any information I can find.
    Kind Regards,
    Olly.

    Good video. could you go through the complete plugging up and charging at a public place at some point ?
    would like a twizy but some relatives have just moved so it looks like I need to look at a Zoe instead. hmm

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  7 років тому +1

      Thanks! The Zoe is more of a normal car and would just work well, I’ve driven one and it’s pretty brisk actually. The Twizy is definitely “out there” and that’s what I like about it. It’s raw, no frills fun! More like a motorcycle! Ok I’ll try and do a clip of the full charging process ;-)

    Been thinking about getting a charge lead for my Twizy for ages
    Do you have a link to the charge lead with key for the Twizy?

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  7 років тому +1

      Thanks, yes I have one without the key switch and another with the key switch, the key switch versions allows you to release your lead in most situations. It’s not really advised though as it can confuse the charge point.

    Hello Friend!! do you know anyone who sells Powerbox V2? Miky from italy

  • @wolfe1970

    Hey Andy, i love this little car, hope to be in a position one day to get one myself, one concern though and id love for you to cover it the the battery's, with regards the monthly rental of £45 ? seems abit counter-intuitive, main reason in electric is to reduce monthly costs, but this is more then my current fuel bills
    What happens if you buy a car then sell it on, do you sell the batterys too or do Renault own them ? abit of a grey area i hope you could answer or cover in one of your videos
    Cheers

    • @DaviDeXtA

      I had a chat with Renault Finance today regarding this, seems like the ability to purchase the batteries is coming but not right now.

    Security q. I notice you have the Powerbox mounted in full view. With those plastic windows, aren't you trusting to luck no one unplugs it while you are away? Could be one expensive coffee! Geat videos of course. Regards.

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  7 років тому +2

      Yeah you have a point, I could see the car from the coffee shop though and was sitting watching all the people walking past looking and pointing at the car. New windows coming soon which will make it harder to steal but yeah it’s always a risk leaving it there.

    I can see why u love that little car mate it looks to b loads of fun. I was watching a tv program yesterday witch highlighted a problem with hybrid cars that i didnt know about where if there is an accident involving a hybrid not just any one can move it or even push it to the side of the road in case the body is live. Duno if thats the same with all electric cars is it? It seemed to be a big issue as far as the police were concerned but i dont know if its a big issue in reality?

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  7 років тому +1

      Hi mate, yeah it’s awesome, I just like the fact it’s not like anything else! It seems like a genuine worry on paper about crashed EVs and their batteries electrocuting those involved in the accident or even those in the rescue services. In reality there are many safety features built into EV batteries to the point where Tesla have a fuse on every single cell in the pack! I think it’s more dangerous working on these cars than anything else and no one should attempt it without proper training.

    Good video again. Have you seen the 526 miles in a twizy video on James and Kate's channel yet? Still holding out for a battery lease free twizy. Keep the videos coming. Thanks

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  7 років тому

      Thanks! Yeah saw that, great achievement! Eventually I think there will be aftermarket batteries available for this car. It is possible to find one without a battery lease, where the battery is owned, just gotta keep looking. It will bump the price up about £2k though.
