Absolutely agree with all your sentiments in this Andy. The Twizy is a great way to get about and with zero emissions it’s guilt free! Absolutely loving driving the Twizy with the windows off in this weather, me and you both got the Twizy at about the right time mate! You know what else, it’s great to see a video with a stretch of road I know well (Twizy owner in Ipswich here so Freeport Braintree is a known spot!)
Mine is a tad older than yours :-p 2012! Still have 99% SOC when fully charged. It might do, haven't tried any dual carriage way driving since I picked it up. A upgraded battery to say 100 miles would be amazing in the Twizy.
What happens when the battery lease/warranty period runs out on the older Twizys? I'm hoping to be able to pick one up that needs a new battery for sensible money (they hold their value SO well here it seems) to try and do a longer range battery, in a few years. Not economical to do it at the moment for my use.
no car is without emissions especial those required to make and mine the components of the battery however i see the point of it not making co2 emissions one issue though from these vids it seems like you have to worry about charge often i would hate that we need a new battery tech to make this what people think it will be
I'd love one of those Twizys mate! It definitely motors on! Good to see the board back too! Music on this vlog is awesome too! Thanks for the shout out!!
Bought a new twizy with doors for 9600 euros its fun but pretty hard suspension and the windows still arent there. Pretty windi in cold weather and long recharge from 3 to 3,5 hours. But i love it the feeling of driving and the happy faces of other people see you
Yeah true, the best thing really is to make sure you have enough energy density in the battery to cover any journey you want, the twizy has 6kWh but really needs 12kWh at least.
Guilt free indeed. For practicality I might have a small petrol generator in the boot “just in case”. I am getting 30kw per day off my panels this time of year so an electric vehicle would make sense to me. Enjoy.
❤😊 well after watching this I'm really interested in getting a twizzy. just wish there was more quadricycles maybe a little bit faster. but yeah that's the future of motoring small, efficient lightweight and aerodynamic and fun
Is there a battery upgrade to increase range? A good idea would be to have a slightly lower voltage battery but more capacity so it would weigh the same, the top speed would be lower but the range would increase exponentially.
You definitely wouldn’t want to decrease the top speed ;-) yes been thinking lots about this. 60V isn’t that high and it’s possible to build another pack that would fit in the car somewhere but the only issue is getting it to work properly with the BMS and systems inside the car.
Great Video whizzing around in a twizy what's not to like and so economical as well and with this great weather to hand. Pity those apps are not up to date I guess that will improve as time goes on hopefully just laziness in not keeping them up to date. Keep up the good work
Andy, having looked into buying an early VW camper recently, I have come to the conclusion that any vehicle that can't manage 60 mph to 62 (preferably) including up motorway hills, is almost dangerous. As traffic volume rises, big trucks in the slow lane don't want to slow below their speed limit which is apparently 56 but in practice up to 60. what is your experience.
Yeah I know what you mean, my twizy will do 65mph with the powerbox that I have (basically it increases power and torque to allow the car past it’s normal 50mph limit) I recently did a motorway run and yeah you don’t want to be going a lot slower than 60mph really because of the lorries you mention. The cool thing with electric is that if you sit behind a lorry you are completely shielded by the wind so you use hardly any energy to maintain speed. You should buy a camper with no engine and make it electric, there are places that will do the conversion now!
Hi Andy , enjoy the videos please keep em coming , After watching the twizzy vids I have decided not to build the Ebike after all but go for the twizzy instead. I put my order in on Friday with the deposit , unfortunately I can't have it until NOV. don't understand why it takes so long ? (hope I made the right choice) I will have to re watch the twizzy series again to see what accessories I will need . Just as a point of interest twizzys seem to hold there price , they are asking almost as much for second hand ones as new ones!
Thanks for the comment! You definitely made the right choice. It’s an awesome machine! could you share where you purchased from please as others have had trouble getting hold of the Twizy. Yes they hold their value very well and will likely be a collectors item soon as it was one of the first EVs. All the twizy accessories are listed in the description box of each Twizy video so go check them out! Try and be patient until November, meanwhile keep watching as there will be lots more Twizy videos on here!!!
Hi Steve, thanks for the contact, just to let you know I removed the message as I'm going to discuss with him directly about announcing this properly on the channel! Thanks for your help! We should start a Twizy club!
I get the idea of new things getting old but so far nope... Got a Volt (ev hybrid) in Oct 2017 and it's just as fun and exciting to drive now as it was back then. Guess for younger people growing up with EVs it'll be ho hum but if you spent the first 35 years of your life around gas guzzlers EVs will be cool for a time to come.
hi you tried nitrogen in tyres being inert it stays stabilised in all types of weather formula 1 uses it as does joe booker " your tyres were freezing cold joe "
Electric cars are so much more efficient than engine cars. The US EPA says Tesla Model 3 does 141 mpg equivalent. That's 169 miles per UK gallon. Even allowing for power system losses that's still well beyond double the mileage of the best engine cars.
Not really. Most people look, wave and give way to you. I do drive mine like a bit of a hooligan though normally!!! it will beat anything at the traffic lights 0-30mph in sport mode and go around roundabouts like a go kart, especially in this weather when the roads are sticky!
My dream is to have a roadtrip with my girlfriend in a Twizy, it's not going to get more intimate than that. What do you think about rigging a luggage box on Twizy's behind?
okay that was kind of funny look at me I'm in the small car I can weave gets passed by other cars gets butthurt so he cuts the frame bro you should left it in there it would have been funnier
electric cars will never happen, the big crash is coming, they are too expensive, low range, and have no soul, and catch fire, and depreciate so quick, you end up losing loads of money
That comment is wrong on so many levels.... "the big crash is coming" don't know what you're talking about "they are too expensive" somewhat true, but they're still getting cheaper while ICE cars are getting more expensive "low range" you're not serious, are you? "have no soul" neither do 90% of the cars that normal people drive to work and the supermarket "catch fire" EVs catch fire less often then ICE cars, although when on fire, yes, they're more difficult to extinguish "depreciate so quick, you end up losing loads of money" show me a car, ANY normal car, that has a different financial picture
thought he said in the beginning “need to go visit my dad in prison” 😂😂😂
imy hahaha yes
I still don't know what he said lol
wow hahahaa
Love watching Lewis videos. 😂

Awesome! I reckon you might even get there on a charge?! What you think!?

Loved this video, Andy!
This is why I want to build a series hybrid. The infrastructure isn't anywhere close to ready for full electric travel.
Yeah true, the best thing really is to make sure you have enough energy density in the battery to cover any journey you want, the twizy has 6kWh but really needs 12kWh at least.
andy kirby if the twizzy had faster charging like 11kW it would top up very quickly
Nothing like a Twizy Adventure Andy, nice video as usual and thanks for the shout out.
do you have a video on how to replace aux 12 volt battery??
Lewis is a great guy, super helpful and friendly , thanks again for sharing his link and he has a new subscriber :)
No indicators on roundabouts... Naughty boy.
I honestly enjoy these drive videos in the Twizy. I was wondering if the battery is upgradeable either thru Renault or other means?
The Twizy is great and cool thanks.
You're giving ME range anxiety, and I don't even own an electric vehicle... yet! ;)
Good vid Andy, great choons as well.
JackFeelsNerves i get range anxiety on my electric bike 😣
I get more range anxiety on my bike than the twizy believe it or not!
The Twizzy 80 is great. Just needs a Nissan Leaf battery (and the Twizzy F1 motor). How hard can it be?
Guilt free indeed.
For practicality I might have a small petrol generator in the boot “just in case”.
I am getting 30kw per day off my panels this time of year so an electric vehicle would make sense to me. Enjoy.
Nice one Rodney.
Could you imagine one tesla motor only on a twizy you would need the drag slicks off the yellow f1 twizzy ....😂😂
how would solar panels work out on a twizzy? do we get enough sun to make it worth the investment?
Love the car but I reckon is get range anxiety all the time 😂😂
Hey Andy, no cupholders? Look for a place to mount something and print one (if you have acess to a 3d printer) :D
Hybrid Twizy. If you put a Honda 2200 generator on the luggage rack would it be enough to power the car? Would be a fun test.
❤😊 well after watching this I'm really interested in getting a twizzy. just wish there was more quadricycles maybe a little bit faster. but yeah that's the future of motoring small, efficient lightweight and aerodynamic and fun

Buy a generator and charge it when driving and hook up a fan heater with cigarette lighter for charging your cigars Flower power
I was at the Walmart today in Richmond, Canada they had two ChargePoint and NO ONE was using them. I modded my bike to add battery's when needed.
Great Video whizzing around in a twizy what's not to like and so economical as well and with this great weather to hand. Pity those apps are not up to date I guess that will improve as time goes on hopefully just laziness in not keeping them up to date. Keep up the good work

Ah, the good old days 😢

Hey Andy I think a Twizy ciub is a great idea we could swap ideas upgrades etc. Count me in.
is 50KM (one way) commute doable with a twizzy? ( I can charge it at work.
Just tried my first Twizy, i loved it, should i buy it? is it worth paying 200 quid a month for it?
Nah. Better get a used one, but with a battery ownership.
I so want a Twizzy. I bet your loving it in this hot weather.
It gets really hot inside because you get zero wind in the driver seat :(.
I get the idea of new things getting old but so far nope... Got a Volt (ev hybrid) in Oct 2017 and it's just as fun and exciting to drive now as it was back then. That’s good to hear! Cars should be enjoyed every time you drive them.😁

Great video and superb car mate. Have you though about doubling the battery capacity?
Holy cow! was that 107c correct on the motortemp at the end? :O
Yes it was😮
its lovely xx
50 miles what's your top speed

Hey Andy I live in Canada Vancouver bc do u need a license and if so what license and would u need a license in Canada to have a twizzy?
Hi, you need a car license in the UK, not sure about the law in Canada. Anyone else from Canada here?
Andy, how do you get treated by other drivers in the Twizy ? do you suffer any road aggression ?
Not really. Most people look, wave and give way to you. I do drive mine like a bit of a hooligan though normally!!! it will beat anything at the traffic lights 0-30mph in sport mode and go around roundabouts like a go kart, especially in this weather when the roads are sticky!

What do you think would you do a twizy if your girlfriend doesn't fit the roofrack
You spend more time charging than driving...
ideal que informaras en español
Get a twizy cargo if u wanna go shopping.
Do you need a driving licence still?
Hi, do you mind if I ask how tall you are? I’m 6ft 4 and am wondering if I would fit in one 🤣
Bloody hell Andy why are you drinking that crap? Mc crap ... you will regret it in the future ;)
Mc Crap? It’s Starbucks just black coffee.
okay that was kind of funny look at me I'm in the small car I can weave gets passed by other cars gets butthurt so he cuts the frame bro you should left it in there it would have been funnier
Don’t turn A/C on. Car dead
