This whole record is so underrated. One of my favorites.
Erase and Rewind is another great one from them. Most people know them from Lovefool, which, while a real earworm... isn't their best imo.

I would recommend their song Lovefool. As well as the movie that the song was on the soundtrack for Romeo + Juliet.
This is the song that put them on the map, though, I much prefer Favorite Game.
I love the Cardigans! Nina Persson is truly a rock goddess. Love her voice.
Some other songs you might want to check out from them:

* Burning down the house. A fantastic collaboration with Tom Jones.
* I need some fine wine and you, you need to be nicer. Possibly the best song title in all of rock and roll, and an amazing song to boot!
Beyond that it gets a little difficult to pick out song recommendations, simply because I think the two last albums that they recorded are both top in class. Not a bad song in either of them.
Regarding the song Lovefool, that I see recommended a lot: it's their most popular song by far, especially internationally, but at least in my eyes it was from a time before they really found their sound and their groove. It's very popular, but it's not their best song and it's not terribly representative of their sound.

I discovered the Cardigans on shortwave - Radio Sweden - quite a while before they had a hit in the US. I'm proud to have been one of their first American fans!

That final shot is why it's the stone version. There are 3 different versions of the video including the "dead version" and the "walk away version".
There's actually 4 (official). 1) Lying dead on the road (dead version). 2) Gets up and walks away (walkaway version). 3) Tries to get up and get hit by rock (stone version). 4) Gets decapitated.(head version). Theres also some unnoificial versions out there.

The Cardigans are a Swedish band. Their first global single was Lovefool. My personal favorite is Erase/Rewind (1999)
I love The Cardigans.They did several covers of Black Sabbath in which singer Nina Persson states that they turn "heavy songs into wimpy pop songs." They also have several really cool B-Sides.
There are two versions of this video: One where she gets hit in the head by the stone at the end and one where it misses her and she walks away. They aired them both to indicate randomness. :)
Its called the "Stone Version" because the one aired on tv was heavily censored, including the stone in the end. And that fake tattoo didn't last long in the hot Arizona sun 🤣

Nena Person's solo tracks Animal Heart and Dreaming of Houses are worth a listen. Also Your Love Alone (is not enough) with the Manic Street Preachers. For What it's Worth, Erase + Rewind, Lovefool & Burning Down the House with Tom Jones.

For some reason this immediately brings to mind another Swedish band: Kent and their video which is excellent: "Dom Andra". Depends on the person if they like the video, I guess you have to be a car-guy or car-gal.
It for sure would be interesting to see you react to is Kent's official music video of "Kärleken Väntar" (Love awaits in English) as it's a veeeery different video. That song was a huge hit, in fact it immediately started playing in my head just thinking about it!
And once again I have to always suggest Three Little Pigs by Green Jelly (basically Tool before they were Tool, and the best and most fun and creative music video ever!)
The little lick you like is when playing a minor chord, C#m in this I think....its a pull-off of the flattened 3rd note to the 2nd note of the scale.

Like your GTA San Andreas theory, however, I hate to put a spoke in your wheel, but this song came out in the 90s long before that video game came out. I do like the theory though. Loved The Cardigans, haven't seen this version of the video before, made me laugh a lot though. I seem to remember they did a collab with Tom Jones, can't remember what that was called, so that and also their song Love Fool is worth checking out. The collab with Tom Jones was Burning Down the House, originally by the Talking Heads, and it's a fantastic cover.

Bird Sound in the background was not a vulture or an eagle. It is the cry of the Red Tailed Hawk.
That is technically a Buzzard (not a true Hawk) being the genus Buteo meaning Buzzard, (Not the US "Buzzard" genus Cathartes meaning purifier, a New World Vulture), true Hawk being the genus Accipiter meaning Hawk.

Oh the video got censored when it came out (depending on where you are I guess) and a lot of people have only ever seen the version where she's just sitting back being chill and singing in the car, and literally nothing happens for 4 minutes! I'm guessing it's the "stone" version either because it's the actual video where it's driving all the chaos, or because it has the ending where she gets bonked on the head by it like a cartoon (they filmed a bunch and some are more violent than others)
The other 'version' (not Stone one) is referring to the video, the song is the same. The 'stone' version was not played on MTV during main viewing hours - maybe even fully censored in some countries, can't really remember - because it depicts reckless driving, running over people, etc.
Written by Nina Person and Peter Svensson. One sound uses a kazoo with a megaphone 📣 . This sing is in a video game 🎮.

I had already heard this song a few years ago when I played Gran Turismo, although honestly now looking at this clip I agree with you Bisscute, this game took aim at Gran Turismo and hit GTA San Andreas and the final part of it leading to there is no stone in the head in my country's version, I don't know if it was censored or something but now it doesn't really matter, the song is very good and the clip is very different, if I could recommend a song I would recommend 2Pac - California Love, it's a really fun song and I think you'll like it Bisscute and that's it, keep up the work you're doing and greetings from Brazil to you! 💚💛💚💛

I remember the name The Cardigans from back in the day, and I must know at least a song or two of theirs, but honestly, nothing is coming to mind. If you like her voice though, I've suggested at least a couple times, that you check out some Jewel, from that same time period, and sounds kind of similar to this womans voice, but Jewel's is much better! Just saying.
