This is great. Except I don't have a plywood subfloor. My tile is played over the concrete slab as well and my pad and carpet

You can drill a small hole into the concrete and drive a small wooden dowel into the hole. Then pound the nails into the wooden dowel. I've done it and works amazing.

It looks like your strip has the slope on the tile side. I thought the slope was to go over the carpet side according to the picture on the label of my strip? Maybe I cant see it well in your video. I'm wanting to transition from vinyl plank flooring to carpet. Looks like the nails go in straight up/down. Correct? I just watched it again. How do I determine if I need a seam binder or the one I have which has a slant on one side? It says it's for transition from tile to carpet.

Thanks for sharing. Can I just ask, if I needed to bring my wood floor up as the tiling finished 2 inches above the current wood floor boards (don't ask me what happened), how much lower than the finish of the tile would the wood floor need to be brought up to create a good transition please?

I have vinyl instead of the tile , do I have to put the nails in the vinyl or the carpet ? Also does the the strip need to be facing one way or the other ?

You can use nails / screws for concrete (Tapcon) or use drywall fasteners after drilling a pilot hole in the concrete with a matching screw.

question... there is nothing in the floor but concrete.. what do the nails go into to keep the strip in place? is there any other type of product to use? Glue for strips perhaps?

I know this is late, but here it is. The edge of the carpet should have a strip off wood that have some sort of adhesive to bond it to the concrete floor. The carpet will then be nailed in to the wood. If for some odd reason you dont have a strip there and your carpet is flapping in the wind, just take a strip of wood, bond it to the ground and nail into that.

hey what is the nail actually going into when you fit it? i have bathroom floor tile that meets carpet with about a 2inch deep gap.

Ian Scholefield usually it would go into the carpet tack strip (the sliver of wood with nails that keeps your carpet in place)
If you don’t have that at the edge, you can easily buy one from a hardware store. Hope that helps.
