Thanks for this lovely informative and great video. First time buying a mechanical keyboard and your video really helped me to decide between red and brown. Tq !
Nice video. Do you know if the gateron switches are more sensitive (for typing) than the optical ones? Which combination of switches and caps (brown, red or blue) would make this keyboard less prone to typos? Thanks !
Thanks for the informative video. I liked both the switches, will probably start with the reds as they're quieter. Deliberating between the K1v5 and the K3v2 🤔
How do the Optical Brown compare to something like the Cherry MX Blues? I love the feedback on the blues, and they don't feel a little mushy like the Reds, much less membrane.
I love using the browns because of the silent typing clicks! 😉 as for the MX Mechanical mini, I still use it too! Checkout my other videos, here’s one ua-cam.com/video/CpaLVjcN6aI/v-deo.htmlsi=hMMxlkpO88sdSnB2
Tough question! 😉 but if I had to choose between these 2, I would go for the Keychron K3 because of the great typing feel but downside is the battery is not that good.
Is it easy to remap del key beside the enter key how it normally is? I also don't get how Low Profile typing is supposed to be less popular, shouldn't it literally be the best way to type, since long travel time is so annoying and especially for typing (it's even slower)?
Fast question: are the letter keys identical shape between rows? Basically I'm thinking of buying german ISO layout, but in italy we have QWERTY ISO, in germany QWERTZ. So I want to switch Y and Z letters. Can you test if you can do this on your k3 without problems (getting a QWERTZ layout basically, since you have QWERTY already)? Thank you very much
In case you don't need to look at your keyboard to type, you can just leave the QWERTZ physical layout as it is - the rest of the physical layout is identical, and your OS doesn't care what is printed on the key. I always end up buying used keyboards with German or French layouts. I have this keyboard (well, the V2) though and the key shapes are stable between rows, the difference you get in position is given by the board (it's at a slight angle)
Good question! It is the fn key that works as the globe key. However, the shortcuts to create slide over screen and split screen do not work. But the rest seem to work. I need to ask Keychron why it is not working.
the red is a tiny bit more silent because it is linear, so there’s a bit more click on the browns, but it’s very close that the sound difference is not that noticeable. But I can definitely feel the difference in the typing feel.
Hello did you find some translucent key-caps compatible to this keyboard (K3 Pro) ? If Yes, where can I buy it? Thank you very much . Keep the very good work
@@MindyC I wanted a quite switches as my main keyboard is BlackWidow Elite v2 with green switches so I got the red switches, I didn't love or hate them, I just think they are Ok to use, but I have ordered the brown switches as well which I think will suite me even better than the red (something between the Green and the Reds)
i mean keychron is an awesome brand, but don't you think the keychron k2v2 or as a matter of fact the k6 would've been better as a daily driver because of their ability to thocc..
What a scam company!! Bought K3 Pro directly from them for $119 on 3/21/23 - it won't stay charged longer than 2 days. No warning or anything and shuts off. The RGB lights have stopped working now too. I contact them and they say "Oh, you must ship back to Hong Kong, it will be expensive, plus you lose initial shipping". They didn't want to deal with it. They wanted to send me a battery - sorry, no..this is a brand new keyboard. Now, they say to ship it to this scam place in Portland, OR and they'll refund me. Yeah, just ship it to ChenYaoQiang...Seriously? Do NOT buy from this scam company. There's no warranty or after purchase support. They're scammers!
thanks bro , the brown and red switch comparison very useful for me
Glad it helped!

hey @wongeubing, which one did you decided and which would you recommend?

which feels more like a macbook-keyboard?

Hi , May I know How charging for Mechanical keyboard,
Which one to buy. In your opinion that is. Btw what do you think of the Logitech MX mechanical mini.

@@MindyC Thanks for your reply. Will check out your other videos. If you had to choose between the Logitech and the Keychron, which would you choose?

@@MindyC Ah ok thanks. Anyway I plan to use it wired. So that's great.

Why did you choose the optical version instead of the mechanical one? I can't decide which to buy in terms of typing experience....
got this as a gift 😊
@@MindyC But what do you think in general about typing experience on optical and mechanical versions?
I don’t have the mechanical switches for the K3 😊

Brown keys available for keychron k3? (Not Optical)
Wow Is it faster than k380 or blitz wolf I'm finding the fastest one. Is the longer key travel matter
There are white switches. Similar to brown, but lighter. And try the banana switches. Similar to brown and more tactile but also lighter
Did you have to choose between K3 and other keychrons? What made you decide?
Didn’t really choose this as this was a birthday gift 😆 But I prefer K3 over the others because of the low-profile.
@@MindyC wow that’s great! Happy birthday!
You can use VIA to switch the position of delete and RGB key :). Then change the RGB keys function to only work when you use it together with FN.
Thanks for the tip! Is it an app for Windows only? Or also for mac?
@@MindyC it runs in a browser. Just google "keychron support via"
@@MindyCunfortunately VIA is exclusive to the pro
Do the brown switches still seem pretty quiet? I can tell reds are quieter but wondering if browns are good for quiet environments.
my opinion is that the browns click noise level is acceptable, but depends on other people’s tolerance I guess 😉
Is this keyboard good for quite working office ?
How do you use the globe key shortcut for multitasking on the keyboard? As it does not have one.
Good question! It is the fn key that works as the globe key. However, the shortcuts to create slide over screen and split screen do not work. But the rest seem to work. I need to ask Keychron why it is not working.
What’s the difference between optical and mechanical?
Keychron explained the difference in their website
Which has more spring resistance?
browns
Do you think red or brown is more silent ?
the red is a tiny bit more silent because it is linear, so there’s a bit more click on the browns, but it’s very close that the sound difference is not that noticeable. But I can definitely feel the difference in the typing feel.
Does the battery of the keyboard show on the battery widget?
no battery on the widget unfortunately
i use mac and windows. does this connect instantly? or you need to pair for a few sec every time you switch OS?
no need to pair every time you switch OS. Once you have paired it to they keyboard, switching by fn 1/2/3 is kinda instant.
@@MindyC awesome
what stand are you using for the ipad
it’s Lention. There’s a link in the description box.
any knows the phone charger stand in the back? where can i get one?
Do you mean the Airpods stand behind my iPad? It is actually the Apple lightning dock. I added the link in the description box.

I am not looking for one 😉
is that red switches sounds like laptop keys?
Good video. I took the reds but I think for my style the browns of this model would be better for me.
after using both the reds and brown, I prefer the brown! Just more satisfying to type on! 😊

Is the bottom of the keyboard metal or plastic?
bottom part is plastic, the sides is metal
@@MindyC Right, thanks!
Love your content.
It’s sad that this keyboard is not available on India.
I contacted the indian website, they said it will be available in mid 2023
Thank you!
Please review ‘Logitech mx keys mini’ next.
