Hi Nick, nice review as always! How is the overall noise level of this quad? Is it something that would annoy your neighbors if you flew it often? I got a bit of feedback from one of my neighbors about some of the noise. I did start flying a 5" HD Nazgul 6s this summer after flying micros for a couple of years and of course it is a bit louder in a different way (lower pitch), I do try to limit how many flights with the 5" to just 2 before I switch back to the micros but that still didn't seem to make them happy...
@@Therberg2500 It does have the potential to being annoying, especially if the neighbors were outside while I was flying. I would think most micros aren't more annoying than say a law mower, but they do sound different. It could be the noise is just different and that is catching their attention.
The fact you can rip this beast in your backyard again and again is truly amazing. Keep up the amazing works. Diatone just had a sale and I picked up the power pack for only $130. Can't wait to get it.
@@NickBurnsFPV a volume comparation between 2203.5 & 2005 stators shows 1330 & 1570 mm^3. Would it increase the performance for a quad weighing 320+gm on 4 inch?
@@AfafPrinceOSH Well I don't follow formulas for my choices to much. Our components have so many variables. For motors: Weight, more or less, low throttle response vs top end performance. More motor volume does indicate it should handle a larger prop with more authority at a higher efficiency.

lol, I need to be sure to request 4s versions. I am pretty sure I did with this one. I guess the manufacturers are baiting me to fly bigger and more cell count quads.
Hey Nick... I saw a maneuver that I hadn't noticed before and really like. I like the power loop over the house, power on and inverted doing a half loop as opposed to the punch and float that you normally do. This quad is definitely on the large side for your style and flying space but it looks like it is maneuverable enough for you to manage reasonably comfortably. Still, the space is better for 3" light weight quads. This quad certainly has the power to be well suited to a much larger space. More good stuff. J.P.
Yes, I don't always do that, often I need to have a certain amount of power and weight, otherwise I end up short, or I have to stay on the throttle so long its not so much fun. :)
Probably what the neighbors thought. I did ask my wife and kids if it could be heard in the house, they said they didn’t notice so I am hopeful I didn’t disturb to many neighbors

Not about this product, but with your rep, would love to see you work with a mfr to produce a rubber/kevlar strap for 3s and smaller toothpick/micros... That emblem would look so cool on a lipo strap!!
What do you think about them switching from a f7 40a stack to an f4 35a AIO? It seems a little backwards but, maybe the lower kv motors will not need as much amperage protection.
Traditionally, we would see repair costs to be less with a flight stack, as we can replace one of the two items rather than replacing the AIO. I don't get to worried about ESC rating on those above 15amps, we see far more esc damage on smaller esc below 10amps. The f7 would future proof the quad more, as at some point we will need the f7 to effectively run betaflight, but we might kill it before that time :)
@@NickBurnsFPV I worry about esc rating when a prop gets caught on a limb or when you turtle. It drives the amp draw up when the motor is under heavy load. I mostly only worry about that on 5" quads though. I like the idea of AIOs but am scared to use them unless they have a high amp rating.
Yes am pretty careful not to fly to much when the close neighbors are outside enjoying the day. If I am flying and they come out I might fly one more pack before stopping for awhile

I have a Roma F4 long range quad. It did not fly well or work well out of the box, but after some modification, it now flies very well. GPS did not work, and the vtx was set to 25mw out of the box. I had to load a LUA script to get the 400mw that the Mamba vtx was rated at. I installed a much better satellite antenna a Matek Systems M8Q-5883. I designed and printed a TPU extended mount for the antenna and shielded the wires going to the antenna. I also moved the crossfire antenna from the back to the front. Now it gets a lock in less than a minute and flies well. Diatone should not sell these as long range and disable the satellite and set the vtx to 25mw. Makes no sense!
@@NickBurnsFPV There was a how to article telling how to load it onto the Mamba vtx through the vtx tab in betaflight provided by Mamba. You had to load the script and it set the channels and increased the power levels from on to four.

The extremely clean gyro is part of the 4” fun factor 🤔☺️ Replaceable arms lessen the noise, wonder why they chose the solid bottom plate.
@@NickBurnsFPV If you're doing small scale cutting at home with those ~120€ CNC-machines, the material use is lower with the replaceable arms - solid bottom plate might eat most of the carbon plate, whereas with replaceable arms you can line things more efficiently. These guys probably cut enough of the frames so that they can fill the empty space between the arms with the camera sideplates etc, so the material doesn't get wasted. The tooling cost is probably fairly similar, replaceable arms don't need much more cutting than the solid plates do. So expense wise what it comes down to is the extra screws the replaceable arms need. Not sure if it's worth the savings tbh, UAVtech has proven on many occasions that the solid bottom plates are worse than the replaceable arms are.
