      @@BrianPhillipsRC this is a really noob question. If I am trimming my controls, let's say Ailerons. Because my plane is tilting to the left. Which way do I push the trim? Or its trying to climb, again which way do I push the trim? I have seen lots of videos of people doing it in flight but no videos actually showing what's done on the controller.
      Cheers

    Brian great video! My hat is off to you on your maintenance ingenuity in repairing the aircraft. I enjoy watching that sort of thing so thanks for including it. And the flight portion was fantastic. I thought it very scale when you were taxiing on the ramp in front of the hanger--- I mean on the driveway in front of the garage!!! Very realistic looking. PS: Thumbs up on the mics.

      I felt that way about my Maule M7. It was so beautiful, till depth perception issues caused it to seek a tree along the shoreline:-( luckily it flies amazingly well with a slight depression on leading edge. Knowing it will be just as beautiful, when I get my new wing. In the meantime, it's so cool flying an Airplane I love the looks of, and am released from the crash pressure, and do aerobatics, because it's already damaged. Actually flew it with wheels yesterday for first time. Have been on floats for a couple months. Nice jet! Someday soon, my skill level will allow me to fly one.until then, I love the Mauler!

    Hey Brian...another awesome video! On the battery strap situation, maybe try the rubber shelf liner (ala Rich Baker) battery will not move with just a slight snug of the velcro, it works great, battery will never move and you don't have to reef on the velcro...by the way, that wouldn't happen if you were flyin' an ix20...lol...I had to do it! Really appreciate your walk throughs on programming the DX as I have both radios, so can't wait until I can have your input on programming on the ix! (ulterior motive exposed!) Great job man, beutiful plane with an accomplished pilot, love yer channel, you guys are awesome, thanks again!

  • @janrc
    @janrc 3 роки тому +1

    I had a similar problem and solved this by buying spring steel which resists much better than the cheap steel pins in a lot of gears. It costs nearly nothing and you have this way plenty of material to improve your gear. mostly the phases to support the screws keeping in a predefined position are much to deep and on both sides! This makes it a bit easier for the producer to assemble the plane but makes the pins weaker then necessary.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 роки тому

      I thought the same thing about the flat spots...they take away like 50% of the shaft!!!
      Spring steel, like "music wire" right?

      I like it, but it was a lot of work to get her flying decent. The AR637 was a lot of work, but now that I have a better idea of what to expect, it's manageable. the Lemon RX would have been about 50X easier, and probably about as effective.

    Yeah Brian, the new lapel mic is great. The plane is "gorgeous". And the camera crew is wonderful. Enjoyed the nose gear rebuild, learned a few things, as usual. I'm done with the China stuff, at least for a while. Too much hassle with quality control, customer service, shipping time, delays, backorders, etc. Banggood lost me as a customer, at least for the time being. Nice to finally see the plane flying in full glory. Stay well.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 роки тому

      Keep in mind, Jack, while I totally get your frustration, Banggood is kinda like Amazon...they're just a huge distribution warehousing center..they don't "make" anything. Horizon Hobby, MotionRC, Hobbyking...they all kinda so the same thing, but make no mistake - China makes all this crap ;) That's why I try not to beat up on China too much. I LOVE what they make, and I could almost NEVER afford to pay American labor to get it...
      ...BUT, I get what you're saying, and respect your position. You cna just watch me beat MY head against the wall for a few months, until I get a really good one that tricks you into also beating YOUR head against the wall - misery loves company - LOL!!!

    • @Jack-gy7cs
      @Jack-gy7cs 3 роки тому

      @@BrianPhillipsRC Instead of saying China I should have just said Banggood. Yeah I know all this stuff comes from China and it's a shame we have to take advantage of a country's cheap labor. My customer service dealings with Amazon and Horizon Hobby have all been positive. Banggood on the other hand has always left me feeling hopelessly frustrated. So there is my reasoning for not dealing with Banggood in the near future. Happy landings.

    So, as a pilot who flys the actual 737-Max9, your comments about stability are spot on. The 737 is not the most dynamically stable bird in real life. Especially in a climb, it tends to bobble around the horizontal axis, she pitch’s up and down pretty noticeably. But under slung engines tend to cause that anyways especially with power application and reductions. I know that stability is a different deal altogether with the stabilizers in an RC plane so it’s not exactly the same thing, but inherently, I’ve never really found the 737 to be all that stable about the pitch axis.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 роки тому +1

      Very cool to hear your comments on it! We don't often hear from the commercial pilots here, but have always suspected there's a few watching. Thanks for being here with us, and sharing! Your insight is very interesting.

      @@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks for the reply! Absolutely man, I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and it’s all I watch now lol. I really enjoy how thorough you are in your reviews, and also that you understand and use aviation vocabulary correctly. I’m assuming you have actual flight experience too? If not, you sure do understand the dynamics well and frame your comments appropriately in regard to aerodynamics and flight characteristics.
      I’m new to the RC world but am becoming obsessed quickly. You should really think about putting on a training course for individuals wanting to learn, especially when it comes to the tech side of things, ie radios and components, to include flying classes. That could be really fun for you and a lot of folks, and lucrative as well. I’d attend.
      Keep up the good work man! And keep the nonchalant innuendos coming too, us commercial guys find them hilarious and we are full of them ourselves lol. Once that flight deck door closes, we could make a sailor blush, I know because I was one in the Navy lol.

    Bryan, have you ever experimented flying with the Lemon Stabilizer Plus or the Admiral 600SP in the recovery mode? I'm curious if these modes can be used like Spectrum SAFE where the RX ca be switched into "PANIC mode" to recover and continue to fly level with no stick input.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 роки тому

      I have never had success with the Auto Leveling in Lemon Rx products, BUT I love their stabilization. It's GREAT, and super-cheap! Here's the ONLY think I don't love...I have to use Ch 5 to turn Stabilization on and off, thus wasting a channel, when I could do the same thing with channel 8 for master gain...I HATE that, but if I had a 5 channel only radio system, I would like this feature. I also hate ONE other feature....WHY CAN'T WE FORCE STABILIZATION ON?!??!?! If we did that, we could save channel 5 for another function
      Also, why doesn't lemon have a 21 Channel with stabilization, like they've been talking about for years!??!?!
      I have never used the Admiral rebranded Lemon-RX DSMP product.

I can set the 3 flight modes, but the master gain knob doesn’t work. Also, on FM 1 I set everything to off, on FM 2 I should have only AS3X, and FM 3 it should have both AS3X and SAFE. However, there is no difference between FM 1 and 2 in my case. Would you be willing to do another video on setting up both AS3X and SAFE with that AR637T? It’s super confusing!
