Along with ‘never eat yellow snow’ pilots need to keep in mind, don’t crash unless it’s into fresh powder 😊 It’s at time like this, you can at least be happy the fine folks at Ohio model products sent it to you for free, and subsequently, Brian Phillips can be their very first customer out of the gate to need a replacement fuse lol 😂👍✌️
It happens! Now you have some more work to do, fix it! Better yours than mine
Knew that was going to happen.
No repair video?
Nice Video pal.. BUtttt What happened to the repair video.???
Two fold...
1) I'm no expert repairman on Balsa Wood planes, by any means, and didn't want to deal with some being insanely critical over disagreements on how I chose to fix the plane, that we can't go back in time to change, even if we wanted too. I just needed to get her back in one piece.
2) We had a crazy busy weekend (the weekend of this crash) and I wanted to get it fixed to film to hit a weather window, and it was just too dang tight to finish in our allotted time frame, mixed with #1 - sorry to disappoint. Maybe on the next crash I can share more - we'll try.
P.S. For the record, you're comment was 100% fair and I get where you're coming from. We've been dealing with some butt-heads making a fuss over comments that were turning into a cesspool of negativity that Megan and I ultimately had to block. The perpetrators from this particular blow up decided then to chime back in with some extra "fake news" using another likely fake account that they control to Thumb Up their own comments (yes, we can see this with our analytics of our channel). Over the years, we've had to do this to stop the cancer from spreading. It's incredibly hard to keep people from getting down-right nasty when they don't get to steal the spotlight from someone else's channel. It's highly irritating to have to deal with some of the insanity on the internet, and it takes a lot of the joy out of replying to commenters - so if you see someone acting a fool, call them out on it ;) It'll warm our hearts!
Thanks For the reply. Weird I guess but I get the most fun and pleasure out of watching you put these old birds back together Over the years and I can say honestly since the start when I would watch you with the folks just sitting around the park watching you fly. Then I would tune in just to watch your repair videos and either coach you on or just plain and simply take some smart tips and use them on my own planes.
2) LOL.. I'm sorry there is folks out there that are just plain pain in the asses. But I guess it all comes with the cost of being famous. But don't worry I'm really good at sitting in the back round and just observing but as you know I got your back and won't think nothing of saying my piece and calling them out. Btw.. Your repair job for what i could see looked pretty dang good. Take care Guys.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Sorry Brian, but deleting constructive comments, is not the answer I'm afraid, but more importantly, You're self - righteous, belligerent attitude seems to be losing you sub's, and shifting your channel on a downward spiral. Don't take my word for it though. Try viewing your YT Social Blade Stats.. See, monthly gained video views & monthly gained subscribers.📉📉 both been on the slide since May 2020. Unsubscribed.
@@billyevans1361 Lol he actually thinks he can see who likes comments from his YT studio? Bro clearly doesn't know what he's talking about or is just posting his own "fake news". A fast Google search will tell you.
"Currently, there is no way to check the liked comments. The "like" and "dislike" buttons are both anonymous. This implies that, even if it does, UA-cam does not publicly divulge the user's identity who likes or dislikes a comment, not even the channel owner."
@@robertsprouse2726 He seems to be deleting the likes on certain comments . So quickly, ya need sharp eyes to notice 😳lol
That's a big NOPE for me on using a Lemon or Orange receiver, I've had and seen way too many failures leading to catastrophic crashes at my local club, but the plane is amazing though.
Yeah, I can see this point of view, especially with a pricy plane, but still my personal experience with LemonRx has been pretty great. Only one definate issue over many many planes. I too have had some issues with other brands, but Spektrum and LemonRx, I've had great luck. Might also be a proximity issue...if you're in a place with more or less RF Interface, you may have a different experience.
Either way, love the plane!
I still think you could be a Jack Black impersonator too. 🧔♀
Agree, doppelganger lol... seems about the same age and height. A little loss of timber, and transformation complete 😉
i@@markblenkinsop3106 Have you noticed the facial expressions and sound of voice as well as the similarity in humor attempts ? If I didn't know better I would think it was JB Cleaned up and trying to be Domestic.LOL
Okay, someone who knows Jack Black needs to ask him to do my intro, just so we can see who the "Real McCoy" - LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Don't know him but sent him a message. Who knows.
Man what a beautiful plane. Again the balsa models are just flat out beautiful. This flies like a dream. Sorry for the crash. Hope the repairs hold up. Nice job on the rebuild. Great video.
Thanks Jeff - it's amazing, and balsa wood planes are great.
Beautiful plane !! Thank you for the great videos on it. I think some nice air filled tire would really help the plane
Great work camera crew 😀
We appreciate that! She is GREAT!
What a beautiful plane. Sorry for the crash. Thanks for sharing your your flights.
It was 100% my fault, and she's fixed and now has LED's too ;) Be looking out for the LED mod video - Coming really soon....we Iced the plane in dense fog and also got a sunset with windy conditions flights for that one. Hope you will check it out soon
After watching your unboxing and assembly I was amazed about how much throw each surface has. Wow she's flies amazing well. Rx install is fantastic as well as the repair. Well done, Cheers!
We were too! The servos seem SMALL, but in the air, she's a power-house and love the really agile performance. It's a keeper for sure, but might be a bit small for a boat (unless it's an "aircraft carrier" - LOL - DAD JOKE WARNING!)
I swear this hobby is going to make me have to get a bigger boat.
So many cool fun planes to fly.
Nice repair work. I appreciate your "warts and all" approach. Thanks for being transparent and showing that even you make mistakes. Be sure to thank Megan often. She's a true unicorn. There are almost no wives out there that are so patient and supportive.
Thanks! We try to show our real experience, but that definitely (for me at least) included crashing...but love to show how quick a motivated person can have a plane fixed.
You're 100% right - I struck the jack pot with Megan ;)
Oh Brian! You should've took the taxi back option and not fly it back pre crash! Awesome plane awesome job at showing how capable this is. Its soooo fast!!! Normally I'd not want this kind of plane but the power this has is making me need it!!
You're 100% right, but more fun to watch this way, right??? - People LOVE watching me crash - and I HATE it ;) LOL
@BrianPhillipsRC it's an eye opener when you crash Brian. Esp when it's your own fault but we only love it cos 1 we get to see your awesome reaction, 2 we learn something from u like why, how & ur repairs and 3 its a reminder that its part of the hobby and when ppl are new to it thats hard to accept. Top bloke Brian (plus camera crew) keep the quality content coming 👍🏾
g on I have been watching all your videos and trying to scratch-build power pods. I am 56 and disabled and I have nothing else to do. I watch till the end and must admit I am very jealous. I can't afford a real plane Not sure I could fly one even if I could. I had a line flyer as a ten-year-old and crashed it on its maiden flight. Have been flight shy ever since. And now living on disability and having a cool plane is pretty much either years away which I don't have or it's out of the question. Anyway, keep making the videos. I love to watch the full build and flight afterward.
Thanks David for being with us! Flying is a hard and exciting experience, but as you mentioned, for some it can present quite the financial burden.
Have you considered some smaller planes to learn with? Disability, meaning not able to work, or not able to physically do RC flight? I only ask because I hate to hear about people who want to fly, but can't. It's such an amazing experience.
Try this, if it seems like a good plan to you...
1) Look up FMS (Freeware, as a demo, flight simulator)
2) Can you save up for a Sport Cub S2 UMX (we have a playlist for it)
and then learn to fly with that? It will be about $150-200 all in with a spare battery (or maybe two).
3) Fly the wings off, quite literally.
4) Go to every swap meet you can get too, and you can get into used planes and even nice quality Tx'es for a fraction of the price.
I want to encourage you in this, provided your disability doesn't prevent your ability to fly.
We love to have you in the audience, but would rather you be flying with us too!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I can't walk far due to neuropathy and heart failure. According to the heart surgeon, I'll be flying on my own two wings within the next couple of years. No receiver or transmitter, Lol. I built my first flight test plane recently not easily and it looks like it got crashed before even flew which it may not. I'll let my great-great-grandson fly it. One of the grandkids stepped on it before I was finished with the build so to fix it it is scabbed back together and taped up but I was able to finally finish the abomination this morning around 3:00am I did add an FPV camera, and homemade/ parts purchase landing gear and tailwheel. Maybe my next build will be better. As many videos as I have watched and a whole lot of practice and maybe I'll at least succeed in getting my gg grandkids interested in RC Planes and flying. Which is more important to me than actually flying myself.
I like how you can just fly right out of your drive, that's awesome
It is awesome for sure!
One thing that I noticed from your video is that the OMP Bushmaster 65 appears to be exactly the same as the discontinued Legacy Aviation (Extreme Flight) Turbo Bushmaster 65. Looking at various parts of the airplane and construction it really looks identical. I even compared the structure and parts from the picts and descriptions in both the OMP and Legacy manuals. All exactly the same. I am guessing that perhaps OMP bought the rights to that airframe. I always wanted the 65" Bushmaster from Legacy but as mentioned it was discontinued. Now I can essentially buy the same airplane!
A little carnage once in a while keeps it real , nice job repairing it though. Keep up the great content.
Not really setting a good example for the newbies though, is it, especially the very young pilots. Why on earth would anyone take out an expensive RC plane like that one, then try to land it in those hazardous conditions!!. Real crazy move IMO.. Of course if u are getting it for free!! Lol.
definitely IFR conditions. even getting the plane for free it still hurts
Exactly - Think, "ouch my balls" from Idiocrocy...
@@BrianPhillipsRC love your channel, and your camera crew(wifey) is the best on the internet. you can actually see the plane in the air. its amazing how many people have videos of their flights and all you see is sky , keep up the good work
Put some ski’s on it Brian and let’s see some snow landings, but what a sweet plane, one day I will have to try a Balsa plane I’m a foamy flyer and glue specialist lol , big salute 🫡 Gaza 🇬🇧 soz for your crash man
It's very VERY tempting ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I recon would look great , it is such a lovely looking plane Brian and glad you got it fixed 🫡
Great Plane, Great video! New 2.0 T28 coming, hope to see you guys unbox, build and fly.
It's gonna be a while :(... they're already sold out of the first batch, and ordering in more.
T28 bit.ly/3PmbxHf - you better order one if you want it. It's gonna be epic. I'm going to be crying myself to sleep for the next few months while I wait ;(..
Brother your a great pilot. I watch a lot of RC videos and your camera crew is the best in the business.
She sure is!!! Thanks
Good Ol Gravity Getsya good sometime!
Brilliant Flyin Brian.
Great show and fix.
Thanks Jono ;)
Beautiful plane and it flies so well.
Yes it does! Yes it is!!!
Man that plane is real beauty! Love watching ur videos Brian. Greetings from the Czech Republic
Thanks! We love putting them together.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Just as well, for the amount of times u crash them!!
Please add an FPV camera and Goggles on your next build. If you are afraid to wear the goggles and fly let the camera crew wear them for a wild ride. Have her sit in a chair through the flight. And have your boy take over the camera crew position for the flight.
Oh yeah FPV….I’d like to see how close you get to those trees!
Don't want you to think I didn't hear your comment....I did, but the way the rules have been previously interpreted, I can't then share the footage, so just trying to keep as compliant as possible.
@@BrianPhillipsRC That is truly unfortunate because that fpv footage would be breathtaking! Can you expand on the rules in question? Sorry I don’t understand the problem.
@@BrianPhillipsRC How is Flight Test able to do it then? Just wondering.
Tough break! Have a “Barley Pop” on me.
Keep up the entertaining content.
Thanks so much!!! Glad you're with us, and super-thanks much appreciated!!!! Now we can get some more CA for the next crash ;) JK Barley Pop on the way - Ohhh yeah!!!!!!
Lovely looking plane. I love tail draggers.
Me too!
Nice! I like it!
Very cool!! But the IX14? Lol! Totally just kidding :) to be honest I’ve never had a Futaba or any other Tx, but there’s a lot out there . Of course Horizon pushes their Tx’s , heck I just got an IX12, but if you could show off some other brands it would really be cool to see what they offer. You and your wife are definitely the best channel, so thank you both!! :)
Thank you, and we HAVE actually shared some other Tx'es, and not just RTF's...we did the Open Tx Jumper T8SG, and I didn't care for the menus, but those who swear by it get used to it and have an easier time with it.
I tried to get you guys to review an OMP Bighorn a couple of years ago but couldn't seem to get your attention. It is equally phenomenal, albeit a 49" wingspan. It's supposed to fly 3s, which it does admirably, but a 4s just takes it to insane levels, much like you're seeing with 6s in the Bushmaster. OMP builds some seriously great airplanes.
BTW - Meghan's not a "good" camera person. She's the BEST camera person in the RC UA-cam world. Seriously good work, Meghan! And not just camera work, but doing color commentary, technical assistance, basically, Brian's alter ego (that little voice of reason).
As always, thanks for sharing.
Steve
I wanted too and reached out to 3 various companies, but our numerous efforts fell on deaf ears.
We tired for 2+ years...
We will hopefully now have it soon ;) Can't wait!
Hi Brian, I'd would really like to see you unbox, build, radio setup and maiden the red OMP 55" Super Decathlon. I'm a huge fan of your videos because you do the best builds & reviews of any others I have watched. George N.
Cool video with some real mistakes and repairs :))
Sweet Brian, I like it it looks like a De Haveland turbo otter.
The airplane looks, and sounds amazing? I would like to see how it would look with the night time lights on?
Really sad to see that crash. I hope it's fixable and hopefully you can fly it again? It's truly an amazing looking plane. Thanks again for sharing. 👍👍👍
We have the video done and uploading for our LED mod - Flight in THICK FOG where we ICED the plane, and also in the evening twilight with large clouds blowing in to help make it dark...
Gotta check it out when we publish later on. It's pretty dang cool!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I'm looking forward to seeing it. Thanks again Brian.
I'm a little shocked its a 6S plane, it looks like its a 4S for sure. OMP makes great planes, but they could really have better landing gear, and their wheels are usually rock hard too. But you wont find a balsa with better fit and finish than any of their models.
Camera Crew is awesome. No one is better, or even close. You're a lucky man :)
100%, but admittedly OMP is in good company with virtually every other company :(.... We've been applying some "gentle pressure" to embarrass these companies into our next "must have" - soft tires like what we've been getting on RC Cars and Trucks.
Beleive it or not, we've been pushing HARD for flaps and have managed to pressure these companies into adding them MORE often than not anymore...lets just keep some heat on for...
squishy tires (even soft foam would be 100% fine)
led's
flaps
Oh yeahhhhhh
Figured this was the best way to reach you. Does the UMX timber x have battery telemetry. My dx6e only shows the receiver voltage. The listing for the plane says it has real time battery voltage telemetry. Customer service says it doesn’t?
Great series. May I ask about what you determined for CG? Thank you Mark
This was listed in the manual. It was an online manual...if you check out the UNBOX, BUILD, RADIO SETUP, you can see the whole thing unfold. Check out the playlist for this beauty, and you can see for yourself - it's toward the end, as you can imagine.
That's a really nice OMP Bushmaster. Nice fix, hope it lasts. Maybe try the Dubro low bounce wheels. Great video Brian and Meagan.
Thanks and was totally thinking about that. I'd love a nice squishy pair on this beauty.
Cool plane!
It's GREAT!!!
Too cold for me mate, have a question though.
Will I have to upgrade to NX10 so I have spare channel for de icing boots on wings, lol.
Brian, I’m not familiar with the term crow, what does Kruse stand for been flying for overseas for 30 years never heard of that term before can you explain more I am familiar with spoilers. I really like your videos they’re in very informative.😊
I mean what does crow stand for?
Very impressive.
I agree - what a plane!!!!!
Unrelated … other than “huge”. When you doing a bit on the new 2.0M Eflite T-28?
soon ;) T28 bit.ly/3PmbxHf
I've heard of Christmas in July but wow😂 good video Brian, Megan. Really would have loved to seen reverse thrust in this can be easily added, that's a big plane and rightfully nice price...👍🤠
Oh yeah, that would be great!
The reversing servo thing is one small reason I went to Open TX 9 years ago. Another plenty of channels. There is just so much more you can do.
Brian, will you be reviewing the Carbon Z T-28 that was just released today?
Absolutely we will... just don't know the timeline yet. If you just can't wait, you can see all the details here...
bprc.me/carbon_z_t28
Nice plane. I got the omp green horn like. A balsa timber. X but more three d omp makes some good planes. Except when you crash. Lol. I'm on my second greenhorn. Balsa a little harder to repair. But they have parts for them now. I bought the green horn when they first came out and their were no parts for it at that time
If you like the bushmaster you should try out the Bighorn. I have the bighorn and it's an amazing little plane on 3s and a monster on 4s. Full span ailerons and good lord it snaps so dam fast.
We've got that request in, and hope to do it soon. We've actually been trying to do it since we did the Challenger, since it too was great!

It's a chunk for sure, but worth it! Very high quality!!!
Nice plane
Just curious...do you have your throttle ratcheted or not?
I don't use the bumps, I keep it mostly smooth. Some pilots like it, but I don't use the bumps.
Woop Woop!!
Sure looks a lot like the Legacy Aviation 84" Turbo Bushmaster I have. if it flies like it then its a beautiful flying plane.
Legacy Aviation briefly made a 65" size. Have one in my garage. Seems OMP bought the plans from the factory.
I have the Legacy Aviation 65", they only made them for a year or two. Seems OMP bought the plan/rights from the factory. Nice to see the size back, wish it was with Legacy Aviation/Extreme flight.
I think Megan is better than a good camera person. You are a pretty good pilot too!
Thanks! She is AMAZING ;)
WOW not a beer cooler plane. It is actually balsa wood!!
YES it is!!!

Excited for your CZ 2.0 T-28 Review - im sure it's coming :P

Darn those crashes..
It was well earned ;) LOL!!! Now I'm paranoid about putting it down the way I want too ;( I could fly this beauty in for smoother landings, I believe, but I'm trying to arrest the rollout to keep the risk of damage to a minimum.
Oooops... 😱😖🛫🥶😁😎

yes, I agree
Hey Brian, love your videos. I may have missed it, but what CG did you use?
Good catch - WE DIDN'T use one ;) We just placed the battery mid way on the strap point and was pleasantly surprised how well things went! Sometimes we just get lucky!!! What plane too - you'll LOVE the "second thoughts" coming soon - sorry to bait you like that...
@@BrianPhillipsRC Looking forward to the Second Thoughts!
Def 6 s....all bushmaster are geared to being an aerobatic bush plane the big ones have a symmetrical airfoil idk about the smaller 65 but 85 and up do and u want that power t have the full flight envelope of that airframe....and don't worry Brian u won't rip it apart doing a corn hole lol
I was seriously concerned!!! Don't want to rip her up like that...she's so beautiful!!!!! My heart would sink if I blew the wings and fuse apart, but guys do some crazy stuff with these planes.
I'd like to get settled on flat spins...I have a hard time inducing these, but this plane is amazing!
Looks nice and I love balsa
Likewise, she is beautiful!!! I still love foamies, but boy-o-boy these ones are nicccce!
