  • Differential thrust was not getting the plane to fly straight due to a new fan on the outside left EDF. You can see the results in my failed landing attempt, which lead up to the crash. I just can't seem to win with this plane!

      Brian Phillips, definitely! Great flights, bad flights, great landings, bad landings, crashes, fixes, it’s all fun! But your unedited genuineness is what really speaks to people, especially in an age of fakeness. Thanks so much!

    Reminds me of flying the Twin Otter....must have power in a bank. I also think with that plane, you need more runway and less obstacles since it does not maneuver like an acro. Very scale indeed. I do get great repair tip from you!

      yep, Terry, I could have made some very small changes to my flight and came down with a beautiful landing, but I made a couple bad choices, which lead to a crash....oh well, live and learn. Use some coarse all thread. It will screw into both halves of the part with a little CA so it doesn’t unthread

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  4 роки тому +1

      I guess I could use a small screw, and cut the head off, then slot it for a "set screw" kinda feel..then heat it and thread it into the plastic....issue would be that the nose gear needs to line up at the end of all that screwing ;)

      Brian Phillips true nothing works quite like new parts. Too bad with planes you have to buy half a plane a quarter of a plane or you just can’t get a part period. To get landing gear brackets for the FMS PA-18 you have to buy the wings. Appreciate the reply

    Great channel. You got me back into RC.
    Safe is so nice. I bought the P51 eachine and now the Citation. Want the flaps too.
    Can we add a servo for steering and Rudder?
    Thanks

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  4 роки тому

      I'm NOT a full scale pilot (yet). I'd like to get into GA, but would FAR prefer to get into ultra lights or powered parasailing. GA is so expensive, and I just don't want my family to have to sacrifice SOOO much to help me live my dreams, but when the kids are grown, maybe that would be a possibility.
      As for flaps on the Citation, it's better to add flaps on the Rudder channel, do some fancy programming, then use the aileron channel to drive the steerable nose gear. That's how I did it, and it worked pretty awesome. I also made a small piece of plastic to help make coordinated turns, which is mounted on the nose gear..looks like nothing, since it's clear plastic, but it works like a 10-15% Aileron to Rudder mix...which is exactly what was needed. Ground handling is accomplished by using the ailerons to drive the steerable nose gear,even though you're also moving the ailerons...which is not perfect, but if you're moving fast enough to NEED the nose gear, the aileron are going to be working IE you be flying :)

    I thought I had bad days😂 but you take it good you just keep going. I still give you a five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was flying my little Sport Cub S 2 and I noticed the gears in the motor were making some noise I didn’t like it. So I blew it out real good and I looked around my car to see if I had some kind of a dry lubricant for it I didn’t want to put oil on it. I had a can of pledge furniture wax I sprayed that inside on the gears what a world of difference so quiet and now the propeller windmills when I let off the throttle it is so much better and it plus it stays clean. I just love it 100 times better. You should try it it’s really cool.🤔😉

    Are them airliners hard to fly are what they look nice and I wouldn't mind having one but you trying to make it look like it was complicated on Landing

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  4 роки тому

      I ran out of power on landing, that's why I crashed. The plane is not overly hard to fly, but I had just fixed an EDF fan, which made the differential thrust a little wonky, and I didn't have quite enough YAW control to get the plane to point down the runway....so I aborted, and made that turn into the "bowl"...I had to stay down in it because I didn't have enough power to get over the trees, and I knew I was going to try to land, I just ran out of thrust at the end of the turn, and she did what all planes do when they run out of power...they "land" ;)

    I would certainly not fly a winged aircraft in that terrain. A Helicopter may be. There are powerlines very close and trees in the area. A real aircraft would not be flown with these obstacles more should da RC plane.

      LOL - I could fix it without too much effort. Wheels up, wheels down is the only way to fly this beauty ;) HOWEVER, I had seriously considered installing strong magnets on each nacelle, and allowing them to "break away" on landing to rid the plane of the landing gear, also then I could slope soar with this plane ;)

    Hi Brian, good morning. . . What a beautiful airbus a380 model, could you tell me where I can buy it? Is that the landing gear that it originally brought or did you modify it?
    It really is beautiful. . . I like your channel, without a doubt it is a show for all of us who enjoy airplanes.
    Best regards.

      You can buy them at the link in the description....there's a link to the playlist of other videos about this plane, and a link to buy. They're right there next to each other, sorry about that...but not enough characters in the description on UA-cam to give a full explanation of such things.
      I modified everything on this plane, pretty much. Check out the playlist, and you'll see ;)

    How’s it going Brian it’s been a little while since I’ve seen the airbus on here. But still always look forward to your videos, always get a good laugh in...lol I hope you and yours are doing good still through this pandemic. How about them new planes coming out the Gripen and the mid 29 and I heard FMS has a euro fighter coming out as well. Hope to see them all on your channel. Have a great day and happy and safe flying!! PS how’s the haying going?

      Thanks Seth. We're doing great, despite what the media would have you believe. I even work in one of the "hot spots" of the country, and I personally visit and have visited and WILL keep visiting one of the "hot spots" in our "hot spot". I can't wait till the rest of the country wakes from it's stupor. I'm getting stick of driving in neutral.
      As for the planes...Motion RC doesn't want to work with me. Too bad, I've reached out a number of times, and they repeatedly refuse. I guess when I have 1,000,000 subscribers, maybe they'll listen....not holding my breath - LOL ;)
      As for the Hay, yes...that's why we've been busy this weekend. I'm about to go and bale the hay. Last night I got all of it raked into wind rows, except for a small triangle on a hill. The dark and dew was making it way too dangerous.
      I just uploaded a video showing the last piece of equipment to pass over the bridge ;) Hope you checked it out. We kinda missed showing this from our initial run...so we HAD to get it captured.
      We will also showcase our spears, for handling and moving the bales from the back to the front. These mini rounds do take a little more handling than that of a 4X4 bale, but my little 1025R wouldn't be able to make it up and down a hill with a 4X4 (or it would be pretty tough).

    • @pokemountain518
      @pokemountain518 4 роки тому

      Brian Phillips yea Ik this whole thing is stupid and doesn’t seem like anything is going to change for awhile sucks... and for Motion they said there not handing out planes anymore at the moment that’s what James started. I believe there pretty naïve because if it wasn’t for people flying their products I would’ve never owned a motion RC plane it’s sad there so blind to the fact that is what helps them sell O well it’s there loss. And yes I did watch the video as well like I’ve stated before I watch all even not RC videos because your great at what you do and that’s entertain your viewers, And about 70% of the things I own for RC I’ve purchased after watching it on your channel. And I’m glad everything is going well with the hay the season is almost over anyways well at lest where I am. So have a good evening and stay safe always looking forward to the next video...Safe flying.

      No, this plane has been in trouble for a while. It used to have power, but the "repairs" I made (IE Wrong fan caz I couldn't get the right one) were not sufficient.
      I will own up to stalling a plane, but sometimes the plane is just broken ;( I've let this plane go to a good home ;) She is flying again!
