Thanks for the vid. Just wanted to add. - 75ft lb on the clutch pack assembly nut (left hand threads) Be sure to hold the crank nut with another socket or wrench to torque it. I used 29mm for crank and 30mm for clutch.
Saved my sanity! You are absolutely right when you said there wasn't a video out there showing this type of shifter shaft assembly! You're the first and helped me resolve my issue! Thank you!
Fine video. Crankshaft nut is locked with red loctite. Would have taken heat to remove it. Wondering how it shifted after replacement. No adjustment to the pawl needed?
solid fkn video i was looking for this exact thing, did you by chance record the reinstallation of everything or just this portion, im not sure what parts im missing and couldnt really find a proper video like this one
So question. What lead up to the point of you having to replace it? I’m researching an issue with a sportster I bought that was dropped at low speeds and now doesn’t want to shift in to any gears. I’m yet to open up the primary cover and have a look for myself till I get back in to town.

What gear was the bike in before you started replacement
👍🍻🍻🍻Muy bien.. Gracias
tks tks
How is the torque of the nut?
How much did the shaft replacement cost?
what is the reason and what was the problem for the need to replace the shifter paw ? what was it doing or not doing ?
If you notice, the original shifter pawl's spines were gone from it being laid down.
We’re you having problems shifting into second ?
