    Okra is just a Vegetable also known as ladies finger and it's a fan favourite here in India. Also, the colour red in curries is essentially orange and it's mainly a mix of two main spices i.e. turmeric and kashmiri red chilly powder. It also has multiple other spices but the colour is because of these two and also, slow cooking adds to the smoky colour.

      We Cooke it in just bit of oil (any tadka) and just haldi(for bit of clour about a half teaspoon) and salt (as per taste)....and the result is slurpy tasy good, !!!(Just fry it on medium flame until okra aka bhindi or ladies finger......looks a bit Srinkerr and small jus a bit......u'll taste the real flavour of the veggies.....take most of the Indian veggies and cook the same way and let me know the results...... 🙏🏽❤️🇮🇳

      Also but small cut potatoes (raw diced and sliced) with the okra aka bhindi aka "ladies finger" and follow the same recipe till the potatoes get tender ( that's an indication of the okras are cooked properly.) Make a vlog on this recipe. 😁

    Eating with hands simple technique, hope it helps. You can use fingers to collect food (especially rice) into manageable portions then you literally form two teams with your fingers, One team is going to be your 4 fingers excluding your thumb morphing to form one flat wide finger used to support the food collected or scooped to reach your mouth and the thumb forms other team used as pusher to push scooped food to your mouth ( the trick is to keep the scooper fingers together and not let gaps between them to avoid food spillage). The scooped food is usually small enough not to touch your palm. The scooped food resting on your scooper / spoon like fingers collection approaches wide open mouth usually like docking module parallel to the ground then you position your thumb behind the scooped food and push it into the open mouth. Initially you might end up elbowing person sitting next to you trying to maintain docking angle but with conscious effort and proper wrist fold you reduce the elbow angle eventually. After you master this next step is breaking bread with out to help of the other hand. For this you use the Vulcan salute formation with fingers where the pinky and ring finger is used to pin the bread down and index and thumb would be used to tear a piece of the bread towards you ( the middle finger as per convenience would side with either partied to get the task done).

    Yes Okra is available in the USA and many ppl know it. It's also called ladies finger. it's very popular veggie tbh. When u plan to eat with hand pls wash ur hand before eating and after obviously. You definitely shouldn't eat rice wrapped in any bread. You eat them separately. And it's pronounced Gosht not goosh. O not OO, Not aloo gabi it's aloo gobi.

    Raita...flavoured yoghurt/ curd with mint and green chillies and salt sometimes

  • @Devil2Knight
    @Devil2Knight 2 роки тому +4

    The white sauce is a raita (Mainly yogurt and they can throw in a smattering of spices and blitzed or fined chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, mint etc) And the color comes from a combo of tomatoes, carmelized onions, chilli powder, turmeric powder and then the other spices that you add in.

  • @Heart.SoulfulIndian
    @Heart.SoulfulIndian 2 роки тому +1

    Bhuna gosht means roasted meat . The curry of onions, tomato is fried till it turns deep red after adding small amount of red chilli powder. Tomatoes tend to stop the cooking process as they are tangy but onions are fried in oil and then tomato paste is fried with it salt, black pepper, garlic and spices to make the gravy. The chicken/ lamb roasted in oil is browned nicely and then mixed hot with the curry. Can be had with steamed rice.

    Okra is a green mucilaginous vegetables grows on climbers. Looks like chillies leathery to touch. Fried with onions and spices to make dopyaaza meaning two onions literally. Anything do pyaaza has onions chicken do pyaaza etc.

    17:04 ( Indian Kashmiri red chili powder ) actually it is Indian chilli powder which is less spicy but make your dish bright red.

  • @tulika_9519

    To add that *Red* colour in indian dishes...we generally add *Tumeric powder* & *Kashmiri red chilli powder*.. this red chilli is not spicy but only for Colors.
    If you add it on hot oil (in the beginning)...it gives you extra vibrant colour to that dish.

    Niceee to see you truly enjoying your food dude!! I normally don't comment but was happy to see you licking your fingers in appreciation... Just a food for your thoughts - Indian food outside India is no where near to what it tastes in India. Being a chef myself and having worked for years outside India I know what I am saying and why.. Main reason is the recepie of spices and the way they are home made in India. Outside you get machine packed n not so fresh spices n powders that are customized to last year atleast in packings .. When you do it with fresh ingredients by hands it takes you to a whole new levels - words cannot describe the taste, the feeling and the freshness.. Do travel to India to experience it and ofcourse don't forget to get a head massage in India!!!

Try making Bhindi fry (if you chance upon Tawa Fry Masala - a spice packet of MDH brand) it goes awesome with Bhindi (Okra). Quick tip - try to dry the bhindi before cooking.

    Try pickled onions/ shallots / small onions made from a solution of white vinegar, tea spoon sugar, salt to taste. Soak onions in this solution with pieces of sugar beet / beet root for colour red and eat with mint chutney with chicken and non vegetarian dishes. It's a digestive and provides a tangy flavour to the food. Just like accompaniments to main courses. Can be had with starters as well.

    The orange colour comes not from any artificial food colouring . It comes from two spices that are a staple in Indian food . When these two spices mix together you get a colour that is signature Indian cuisine.. And both the spices are extremely good for your body with a ton of health benefits from controlling inflammation to aiding digestion and building immunity.. The spices - Turmeric and Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder .

Indian foods served on restaurants are tasty but not healthy, You just can't have it daily.
