How to Hybrid Pick in 3 Levels of Difficulty ft. Daniel Donato!
Вставка

- You can use more than just your pick, y'all. Chet Atkins did it incredibly well. Mark Knopfler. John Mayer. Tommy Emmanuel. Brad Paisley. Me.
It's indeed one of the most versatile ways to get the most tone out of your instrument. Especially in regards to dynamics! Here I go through different licks in 3 levels of difficulty! I hope this brings you value and inspiration!

Daniel, you are not only ridiculously talented, your sense of humor is so good!!! Thank you for posting!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
“Invest time in g# why don’t chu?” Thanks for making a funny and knowledgeable lesson!
yeah G# doesn't get near the love it deserves.
Beautifully taught lesson Danny Boy. Thank you so much!!!
Definitely have more volume of hair than myself, and chops, and youth😂 Go Danny Go!! Go!!
I never knew Tom Holland had an American brother who played the guitar!
@@danieldonato omg no way you actually replied! Hahaha thanks a lot bro, you made my day, I'm a huge fan of your work. You chicken pick like no one else
awesome content! just found out about you thru reverb and your story is very inspiring. thanks for sharing your wisdom and hair with us all!
Great exercises; Thanks for this video!
This young man will do great things in the music world.
I have spoken.
All in agreement say, “aye”. @Bagger Vance, “Aye”!
Such a good lesson. Thx.
Great video, subbed! Thanks for the great playing and exercises. The right hand chickin’ pickin’ and banjo roll is exactly what I’ve been trying to learn lately
Thank you very much for sharing, 3 levels is amazing
I need more of these techniques!! Awesome video ;)
Thank you Daniel
Love your vids man.
Great stuff Daniel. I'm a hybrid picker like you...never got on w the thumb pick, but I see a lot of Travis pickers using them...BTW you definitely have more volume in your hair than I do. ; = )
Thanks DD
Thank you for a great lesson!
Glad you liked it! Stay Cosmic! #COSMICCOUNTRY
Thanks
Daniel….. just LOVE your guitar playing… one of the best in the world for sure:-)

Moroccanoil Curl Control Mousse gives great definition and bounce without dragging down your tresses or making your curls crunchy. Enriched with antioxidant-packed argan oil, it works to strengthen hair, lock-in moisture and fight the frizz for a smooth finish - even in humidity. What's more, it smells divine.
Great content man thanks 🙏🏽💪🏽
By the way our hair can compete 🤙🏽
Danny G , would appreciate you ! Thank you , for taking the time !
Your hair does have more volume than mine! Great video!
I practiced the hybrid technique for a while, and then grew out my nails, took a lot of biotin, which helped with the hair btw, heh heh, and my nails got stronger. Now I don't use a guitar pick much at all. I use all 5 of my fingers in different patterns, but my thumb became my plectrum, in a since, for speed runs.
Hard As Nails works pretty good too
Donato! you are my new favourite thing on the internet #cosmiccountry
Hey. You played a gig in my dads band a while back in Tiverton RI. He told me you we’re incredible. He’s right.
I just got back into playing guitar after 17 years off. I really would like to learn how to play a banjo roll on guitar. If you have any tips that would be appreciated.
You are literally the best!! I follow you on Instagram. I'm from Memphis. I honestly love Aussie's shampoo and conditioner for dry or damaged hair. Mine is super flat so we are opposites. XD going to practice to this later. Thank you for the value!!:)
Your a genius
Amazing, cant wait to try. Do u use fingernail or just the flesh? Thx Daniel!
Muscles? Uh; it's tendons that move your fingers; wiggle your fingers and watch the tendons move on the back of your hand. Love this guy's playing; good lesson too.
I loved the way that you went about tying the last lick off.
Very similar to banjo rolls, which I was doing about 14yrs ago. Time to give the 'g' string mentality a try with the guitar.
Nice one 😎🎸✅
Daniel you are one funny dude! Super fun...Oh yeah Great guitar too
Lovely tutorial. Great player. I have seen a few of Daniel’s instructional videos where his guitar is slightly out of tune, like it is in this one. Funny, that.
Can you recommend some hybrid picking artists to listen to (besides the great Daniel Donato)?
that level 1 chord progression reminded me a lot of Home Sweet Home
I like so much your videos greetings from México. 🇲🇽
I wish you could show us some of the licks you played in the first jam whit Grant Moody
@@danieldonato plssss 🙏🏻
Argon or Coconut hair oil. Then wash after 15mins with hot water.
nice axe
#genius
Nice video, i hope more video from you about how play chicken picking .. god bless you and success
More to come! Make sure to subscribe if you like to keep it Cosmic! #COSMICCOUNTRY ☯️🤠☯️
Hell yeah double D! I learned chicken pickin from you and johnny hiland.
Daniel could you make video about upside down bending? I am not sure what it is called 🤭. It is when you are bending not upper string but down strings. Thanks.
Great suggestion! I will.
I use shampoo 11 . It gives my hair that xtra volume over most cats.
Can you explain why you used F major and B flat major in the key of G? Aren't the chords in G, G maj A min B min C maj D maj E min F#dim?
Joshua Evans they’re called substitutions. You can superimpose the chords Daniel is playing over the conventional chords.
It’s all difficult to me but you make it look so easy but it’s definitely my favorite style of guitar you are one of the best especially at this style and that’s a beautiful tele love the natural finish
Yes sir
So many young players in the future will use this lesson. Thanks for paying it forward.
7:25 haha
You read in mind ?
Tout ceci tombe à pick ....
Thanks !
Daniel Donato.......those that teach ca.......wait a minute,.........this guy can play.
I use my wife's dove shampoo... she watched the video with me and said, "but you don't have a lot volume" but I told her that you wouldn't know that
Oh course, Albert uses his pinky - picking hand - to do a 4 note roll which, I'm sure. is easier than "jumping" across strings with a pick.
I'm bald and only here for the lessons and music, no need to talk about hair volume or shampoo haha :P
I know this is not nearly the point of the video, but which pedal is giving you that phase tone?
Thanks!!!
Yes, sell it, it's not you. Too new. Get that sea foam green machine out! You're great!
"Key of G: G, F, E minor, D minor, C, Bb major, A minor, G". Uh, What? I'm truly lost as to how this is key of G. Key of G in this order would be G, F# half diminished, E minor, D7, C, B minor, A minor, then G again. I understand substitutions but this is bizarre to me. I'm not trying to be a know-it-all, I really want to understand Daniel's thinking here.
The term cosmic country makes me ill. Call it what it is brother “Garciaesc”. It’s all Jerry. Jerry is and forever will be the King of what you call cosmic country. Cute name It’s like you just renamed the wheel. Forget about inventing it let’s just re name it. The circle thing. Kook
