At first I thought it might have been to teach the players the blast radius of the barrel, since that's the first barrel you encounter. But then I laughed to myself and said "this is not CoD to have a friggin' tutorial lol", and carried on blowing up demons...
I love putting this on while I'm studying. It keeps my mind grounded so I don't lose focus on the material. It also is subtle enough so that it doesn't distract me! what an excellent track, so simple, so pleaseant.
Hungry Films “Smooth Doom” I see what you did there. (In case you didn’t know, Smooth Doom is the name of a Doom WAD that smooths out the weapon and monster animations.)
It's by far the most genius, because it gives the game an understated gleeful madness. As opposed to the more direct more 'metal' songs that are too obvious.
This fall into the category of action games with very chill low tempo jazzy pieces in the soundtracks that you wouldn'tthink fit but do...think MGS2 or Revenge of Shinobi 3...
Este tema para estudiar o relajarse es excelente, ademas es un sonido muy relax para un juego con muchas viceras y tiros. La verdad nunca antes visto, ME ENCANTA
Map 2 where it first plays has 2 zombies near a room. After you killed them, if you cross a certain line def, the same 2 enemy types are teleported from an out of bounds room. This creates the illusion that the zombies revived. Every other map it plays in has atleast one Archville. I guess they might have found it too difficult for level 2.
Hey there! I don't mean to bother, but would you mind if I use some of the songs from this playlist and the doom 1 playlist? I plan on using them for a video where I showcase or talk about some of the unused things from doom and it's early days.
The "My 1 map wad is over" Song

It's interesting how such a chilled out melody works so well for the level where you find the Super Shotgun and all the carnage that follows.
this tune makes me want to sneak around with a silenced pistol and gas grenades lol
Feel like it’s a they live reference
The “BRB gotta leave my house to grab the super shotgun” song
Me going to the kitchen at 3 A.M

Samuel Hayden: *(Faces directly at Doomguy)* …No. *(Walks away)*
Doomguy: …Yes.
Has anyone noticed that the Shotgun Guy near the explosive barrel is stuck?
Everyone has noticed.
Except ID Software.
At first I thought it might have been to teach the players the blast radius of the barrel, since that's the first barrel you encounter. But then I laughed to myself and said "this is not CoD to have a friggin' tutorial lol", and carried on blowing up demons...
Vitor Machado That's probably it. A good game doesn't tell you how to play it, it shows you.
+JoePro But that would be showing you
The bug is explained here: doomwiki.org/wiki/Sleeping_shotgun_guy_in_MAP02_(Doom_II)
This should be the default bgm when you're chilling in the Fortress of Doom on Eternal.
Or at least an option between them. I like the default Fortress ambience actually. Oddly haunting yet oddly calming.
I always thought it would've been cute if Mick Gordon put this song or the salsa bit in the elevators of doom or eternal
Hah
Yeah same xD
I think they did that joke in DOOM VFR
WHY ISNT THAT A THING!!!!
YOU GENIUS!
If they have elevators at id-Software, they'll certainly playing this song.
I love putting this on while I'm studying. It keeps my mind grounded so I don't lose focus on the material. It also is subtle enough so that it doesn't distract me! what an excellent track, so simple, so pleaseant.
Damn this is some smooth doom music
Hungry Films
“Smooth Doom”
I see what you did there.
(In case you didn’t know, Smooth Doom is the name of a Doom WAD that smooths out the weapon and monster animations.)
welp
Yeah its smooth. But I seems like it be more fitting for a elavator or a tutorial level.
for me,the best song in Doom 2
It's by far the most genius, because it gives the game an understated gleeful madness. As opposed to the more direct more 'metal' songs that are too obvious.
Plays in:
MAP02 - Underhalls (Doom 2)
MAP11 - Circle of Death (Doom2)
MAP17 - Tenements (Doom 2)
God i love The Tenements, such an amazing & brutal level had to use this. I'd much rather something more dramatic for lack of a better word
elevator music
*elevator music*
This is what they listen to at office
The perfect tune for when you are peckish at 3am and looking for something to eat from the kitchen
The game: DOOM

This song gives me Gmod prop hunt vibes.
Everybody Gangsta until the Healer Stalks

best music to do homework
Elevator music.
The first time i played E1M2 of Doom II, i got so immersed that i thought that i was in an elevator listening to elevator music.
when you beat nuts.wad and start underhalls with a bfg
Back to the House
It sounds similar to Earnest Evans' second level theme (in the mountains).
I was in 2nd Year at university in 1995. I would play this game until 2 am and wake up at 7 am to go to varsity feeling exhausted.😂
this songs great i love it
bro this makes me idle frames
Welp, Wad's over
wait what the shit I’m back?
Nuts.wad
This sounds like tutorial music
Doom 2 it's just thinking music
This makes me want to stand repeating animation frames

Thanks for doing this. Which midi samples / soundfont is used ? It sounds great.
midi like synthesia
and for new versions or roland

The midi is straight from DOOM 2, the soundfont is that of the SC55
Roland SC-55
anyone know why the name "the healer stalks"?
the arc vile
It meant to apear in doom 1
It even has a face texture on the green marble walls and boxes
The Demon medic

Can I use this for a video?

Doom bossa nova?
Awesome extended remix! Is it okay if I use this?
This isn't a remix, but sure, use it if you want.
Thanks, I appreciate that. BTW I meant extended version, sorry.
no problem man
Would you like to know which video I'm planning on using it in soon?
no thanks, good luck with the video though!

For me Map 02 was an awesome piece of cake map.
The problem is when you want to do a pacifist run...
"The Healer Stalks"
*is not in the level where the Arch-Vule is introduced*
Actually, this is the music for both Map 2 and Map 11, and it's in Map 11 where the Arch-Vile is introduced.

i had the idea to do a mashup with those two together.
i dont think so
They recycled some music for Doom. Between Levels is like a weird medley remix of Wolfenstein 3D ost
