As it should be. Pretty much plays to signify that the UAC is lost, you're alone, the Demons are many, and you're the only one who can stop them...granted you live long enough.

@@nedrik9238 but its a lot more creepy and eerie in the old doom games. like the comment says, even as fast paced as they are, it can get very eerie and lonely easily. For example, when you can't find an exit and you just keep walking through the quiet halls and rooms.
This track isn't for the faint of heart, instead of just being background music, it feels as if it's trying to tell you something. This song perfectly describes what goes inside Doomguy's head when he realizes he is forced to go through hell, to get home. Despair and Determination are the words.
@@MeltyZombiehat isn't as sad really. It feels more like happy innocence to revenge is going to rain upon hell for what they did to daisy. This theme just always feels sad But i mean anyone is subject to their own opinion
This song has a feeling of impending nightmare. You're the last survivor and all alone up against whatever waits beyond that elevator. This will be your last stand against hilariously bad odds. So you enter the arena and meet ... doomguy
I played this on loop while walking in the city. It's wonderfully strange, try it sometime. You can feel the isolation and become aware of signs of evil around.
In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. _Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension,_ he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him… the Doom Slayer.
This is how it feels to play doom for hours. At first you're like hell yeah gonna destroy and obliterate demons, and after few hours... "Cheesus Christ, how more many of them i have to kill? I just want this to stop. Please."
What makes this track so cool is that it stands in such stark contrast to everything else...level after level of fast-paced adrenaline fueled metal and then they slow it waaay down with something that's actually somber. Makes you realize that you're going to hell and probably never coming back.
This song is perfect. It’s gives off a forlorn, isolated feeling whilst also reflecting what’s going through doomguys head. He’s alone. Everything he had has now gone. The trauma he must be facing while fighting hell. All this mental disturbance all to be rewarded with an Annihilated World if he can survive and fight off hell. Pure perfection
We need a doom Mod where you play with other NPC players on a moon base and eventually get to hell but the catch is every level you lose one of these comrades until you reach the final level, in hell, all alone by yourself armed with just a pistol Then this track plays, that's when you truly know, you are all alone...
Well, if you play with the Brutal Doom mod, there are NPC Marines in certain levels that you can find tied to stakes. Rescuing them gives them a weapon (varies by uniform color) and the follow you around, kitchen ace and taking names. On lower difficulties you can wind up with maybe two or three of them backing you up. They even follow you from level to level and contribute to your kill tally.
And here you are. Cold, injured and alone. Demons everywhere, looking for you, smelling your fear, your darkest side and thoughts. What are you gonna do now?. This have to end, one way or another. Don't worry, take a breath and make it count
Sitting outside, drinking, smoking, and watching a fire while listening to this gives the song a very interesting emotion. I can’t really describe it, it’s isolation, sorrow, and calmness blended into one
In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the fires of hell, he wandered the umberal plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him, And those who tasted the bite of his sword named him... THE DOOM SLAYER!!!

As you load your weapons and set off to find whatever force brought them here. Hoping to end this living nightmare once and for all...
Honestly this song doesn’t sound that sad or despairing to me, it actually gives me western vibes, like a sort of scifi western where the hero is traveling alone through a desolate land in search of his target. The song sounds lonely.
I thinks that the reason to that this music plays in the first level (Hell Beneath) of the episode 4 of Doom "Thy Flesh Consumed", is to show us the grief and pain of Doomguy for the death of his beloved rabbit Daisy, that was killed by the demons in the end of the previous episode.
