So, this came to me after a gearbox and mechatronics replacement!!!... which, as you will see, unluckily did not solve the problem...
The car is fitted with the 7 speed dual clutch DQ200 gearbox... these gearboxes are prone to fail in many different ways... now, the fact that gearbox and mechatronics had been replaced, and was left with the same problem, could be a coincidence, or maybe not...
On a quick scan, came up with P189C, P0841 and a bonus P0726....

🥵🥵🥵 I didn't know my world could end when performing basic settings without oil in the gearbox. Could have ended my world on several occasions. Great video Luis. And for those DIYers who want to service their mechatronics. DON'T. Let someone with knowledge and equipment do it. EDIT, this week 05,06,2023 I will have the same issues as you had in your video. A T5 with mechatronic issues and a Focus with a misfire. Both cars have been " repaired " by other " mechanics " already. I wonder what " mysteries " we will uncover.

What's the deference between the 0AM vs 0CW ? Can I fit a OCW on a car that comes originally with the 0AM? I will keep the original mechatronic
If you keep the original mechatronics should be fine...
As if I am not wrong, the main difference is the software and the communications with the can bus...

I don't think I left it engaged, otherwise the mechatronics wouldn't fit, or similar...

My DSG is hesitant on pulling off, and sometimes bangs. Gears 1-6 is fine.
If engine/gearbox is cold the DSG acts normal.
Any ideas?
Not without scanning it... see if there is any codes stored.
Perhaps a worn clutch?

Hi I have the same problem on my 55 plate MK5 Golf GTI DSG, it will drop out of gear and the engine management light will come one. If you put the gear box in D and then back to semi auto with the brake pushed in, it will reengage the gears. A friend and I have put a computer onto the car system and it says "implausible signal from gear shift". A garage told me I need a new gear lever which they quoted at £1k. Would you know what part could be faulty and can this problem be fixed on the gearshift without replacing

Perhaps your symptoms are the same, but caused by something different...

Did you work on the Insignia that had been mapped dpf etc or did you do the sensible thing and not get involved. We got in a Skoda 2015 1.6td crank no start only low voltage codes and a glowplug. He had dpf and egr problems and had someone delete them and map it days later went into limp mode and hasn't ran again. My main concern is the live data list only has one page maybe 10/15 things and normally on a similar car the list is immense I think it's been flashed with a very dodgy remap file. The only information we got at first was turbo has possibly failed and gone through the engine supply and fit engine and turbo on inspection 🤨then the full story came out. We haven't gone to deep into it yet it's obvious when cranking something in the bottom end is tight. We are capable of sorting the mechanical but it's going to need a professional tuner or all putting back to standard to be right. 💩

Injectors are common on these. PF jones sell Siemens units that I put in mine. Never had any issues since and was a fraction of a price of Volkswagen ones.

But it is not always necessary... I manged to several times to just put it back and drive... the car will learn everything again...

Many thanks for the answer, i’m still at the stage to remove the acumulator as is still stuck, will try later with impact gun, already attempted with breaker bar! What oil did u used for the gearbox? The brown smelly one?
I always use the breaker bar for the accumulator...
The oil is normal manual gearbox oil... 0W20 if I recall correctly...
In managed to get the acumulator off by using an impact gun, cleaned all , i installed the repair kit, any idea where to order the gasket( cover) ? Also it seems easier to top up the mechatronic fluid once all put back together, as once on the car acces is limited!
The gaskets I always get them with the repair kit... if yours didn't came with them, is a less complete kit...
The hydraulic oil you put 1 litre... I usually do it before installation on the car...

If you replaced the mechatronics, just make sure the coding is correct as per the previous one, all you need is to plug the old one and communicate with it to read the code...
The software, if you want to update it that's fine, the dealer or with ODIS and the correct tools you can do it... but unless the software on the replacement mechatronics is bad, that might net be really necessary...
Which tools do you have?
I do not have the necessary tools to extract the information from the mechatronics. My dealer has them. He claims that there is no communication with the mechatronics and that is why it is not possible to extract information from it.
And I don't know how I can get the information out of the old mechatronic

Hy i have it the problem 3 days ago whit start stop on a passat cc. Same problem whit the battery on on the instrument cluster... the start stop is not working if the battery is below then 12.5 ... the problem was the reference wire that come on the alternator the pin from the wire lose conection on the alternator, fix the pin and alternator start to charge the battery and start stop was fixed.

Hi, I have a golf 5 2008 dsg 6 speed. the problem is the gearbox, they light up (PRNDS) on the dashboard and in safe mode nothing reacts as if it is disconnected from the engine. The fault code is P0840 "transmission fluid pressure sensor" How do I fix this problem. thank you.

The pressure sensor is internal on the mechatronics if I recall correctly...

Hi luis - great work here as always , I’ve just done one of these too - had a pressure accumulator fault , just a tip you don’t need to take the cover off the back to fill the gearbox up , it’s cleaner to fill it this way but I take the cap off the top of the cover , pipe and a funnel - saves some time - keep up the great work 👍

Great video..have one passat 280 tsi 2017..got an error P0726 and P072B..when engine is cold gear engage well but when it's on normal operating the R gear won't work as well as D..also there us a strange sound coming from the gearbox sort of broken bearing sound..any clue where should i start? Hope you can guide me on this..tq
Start by remove the gearbox...
If it sounds like a mechanical problem, better to just take the box out and start to dismantle and inspect...

Hi could be... Well, if you read those on the transmission control module, they are on the mechatronics...
Check live data, see what the readings of the speed sensor are... the gear box stuck on gear/reverse, the P072B, could be the linear bearings on the gear selector forks... a known point of failure as well...
The fact that you mentioned the noise from the gearbox, made me to suggest to deep inspect...
The adaptations will fail if the box is not working correctly, the P072B suggests that...
@@LMAutoRepairs Means i have to tear down the gearbox to check the linear bearing of the gear selector forks or maybe the noise is exactly coming from the linear bearing itself..if we start the car from cold a few minute can hear already the sound and when we put the gear in D the sound will dissapeared and when the engine is in operating temp the tyre will not moving when in D or R and sometime the sound will stay until we turn off the engine and it's sound like a broken bearing..well sort of..do you have a video for the linear bearing repair?
