@@hrizwaldieos8239 unfortunately, it was part of the temporary free bundles epic games put on their store which end after the end of the week.
At this point they should’ve made shadowkeep free and have that be the new light campaign as it kinda starts the whole pyramid ship mystery and some extra notes being added to fill in what happened in some important season and it could work definitely better than the sad excuse of a new light thing we have now

Heads up. Shadowkeep and Beyond light stories will be for all players fir free and Statis will be free to all after you beat the story of Beyond light
@@tensedart3470 still a kinda greedy approach to paywalling the rest of those older dlc's content. It wouldn't hurt to make at least their nightfalls (when on rotation) and exotics f2p, yet they still insist on restricting this content.
As someone who loved destiny 1 then was disappointed in destiny 2 I’ve recently came back and have had a blast on the game

I like how this is half an impression video and a soft tutorial. I think it’s super helpful to highlight what’s good and bad with this update so that New Lights watching this can feel justified in their confusion and also learn crucial parts of the game from a seasoned veteran, like what makes a weapon is good or which subclass to pick from Ikora or why being at PL 1810 is a big deal, etc
This is more of a veteran thing, but Destiny Armor Picker helped me flesh out my build stats wise. It reads everything you have in your inventory and vault and gives you the best stat block based on what you want. I just achieved 3 100 stats on my void hunter and I've been playing since.... Oh Lord since rise of iron on D1? Really helped me out 😅☺️💚
Destiny Item Manager also has that baked in. When you create a new loadout you can click on the "Armor Optimizer" Button and on the side you can pick your exotic, subclass and armor mods you wanna use. You can also order the stats from most to least useful or even disable a stat for a build so it doesn't get calculated in.

Something I’ve always thought that would help new players with facing champions is giving blue berries weapons with baked in abilities that stun specific champs. That way they get an understanding of the mechanic. Makes the guns horrible but it at least teaches them.
There’s the “There’s so much to do!” Aspect of new light and then there’s the “There’s so much to do.” Aspect
Extremely good point about rolls at 10:50, I swear most people think you need a god roll. I always just tell my buddies the good perks/mags/barrels to look out for. Having a good roll helps but it’s more about the player and their play style.
It all depends. Chain reaction on a waveframe can drastically change the viability of it. It's all very dependent on the weapon

I recently got back into destiny (mid way through this current season) after quitting after witch queen came out. Ur videos as well as gmeiners got me back into the game. Both videos gave me advice which even back then I never knew about. Also, this video actually let me know about mara giving out raid stuff and exotics.
I would suggest for new players that want to raid or even do pantheon, you’ll still come across 90% LFG’s want you to KWTD or have a specific build.
The Rolls are super important part is very true even when it comes down to PvP they don't matter as well as long you understand the weapon, and you know how it works in certain ranges. Yet I get people telling me "You need this set of rolls if your gonna win the gunfire!" No you just need to know your weapon which really pissed people off after I showed them its all about your skills, and how you use the weapon.
this feel like a d2 ad and it convinces me to come back, last time i played the f2p cap was at 1350 or 1370 so 1810 looks pretty crazy

You're right with the "rolls don't matter unless with heavy weapons" I got a hothead with impulse and clown cartridge and before I had one with auto loading and with the clown cartridge one I can out dps a lot of people because I can get all my rockets in one dps phase
This is on point. Turned off playing when season of the dawn almost finish. Comes back 3 days ago, and daym im having a blast in beyond light & witch queen. Expansion wise, dope price and content, i always love destiny 2 expansion. W for bungie for sure 🎉

Do feel like a few things may have been done differently, such as choosing something else instead of Riskrunner was chosen for Arc subclass (and well not recommending it just in general), know the options are limited, but honestly could have given Trinity Ghoul and no one probably would have complained.
But overall, much better then what I had when I started back in ligthfall.
Hunter Arc is good , also you get liars handshake from into the light gift of the thunder gods chest . Is a good exotic for combination blow build ... not better than assasins cowl but a good start.
I'm trying to get one of my friends into Destiny, and oh boy. This game has so many unexplained things.
I probably wouldn't have come back to destiny 2 without this update, it's absolutely fantastic to get back into things without a mind numbing grind. Am a lil sad that I've missed out on a lot of content, kinda want that strand 140... But still, real good.
I started playing Destiny 2 a couple months ago. I did all the tutorials and got the exotics from there. I have ranked up and gear scored my charachter up to 1800 and the game still let me get the New Light pack with the free Sunshot and the free set of 1810 armor and weapons.
It was perfect timing. 😂
I used to play on xbox. Im returning on steam, and will be buying all current dlcs off of cdkeys for a total of £30. Cheaper than most games nowadays, looking forward to it.
Weren't sunshot, graviton and riskrunner the io quest rewards you got to choose between all the way back in the red war?

@@Fuer64When I quit a few years ago, Riskrunner was a really good weapon for fighting the Fallen or when you were fighting around the Vex milk.
one thing about adding subscription into d2 is dlc weapon using,i mean if the sub is expired,does it make those weapon unusable or else,i can't imagine how much bug is going to be come out because of this,so the best option to them is just manage their dlc buying option to be less confusing

Just a heads up for new players. Unlock the crafting table. If you delete a red border before unlocking the table. You will not get progress towards the pattern. Happened to a friend.
Besides that what should I get for Destiny 2 do I need all dlc especially to get the new subclasses?
@BlueXyro You'll need lightfall for strand subclass. Destiny is probably the most expensive free game. I wouldn't spend full price on that dlc. Into the light has pretty damn good weapons to get you ready for the final shape.

Im a decently new player. I did not know the rift mechanic already existed. I just mega brain played and ran it down mid and touched the big glowy light.
19:27 this video has been really, really good for new lights, but take sweats advice none of the hunter exotics are good and the one he did say is decent is tied to strand/lightfall, so its literally useless if you dont have said expansion. But other than that this has been a fantastic video.

Already played for like 50 hours, great experience overall, but it's a bummer that none of my friends will download it and play with me and I understand them thanks to my experience with the game in 2019 😢
Ive played this game for years on and off because of how expensive the dlcs were but after coming back by chance and finding that dlc bundle 80% off, i gotta say im pretty happy. I get to pay 11 EUR instead of 60. I like those numbers
I do appreciate Bungo giving new players options to get right into the meat of Into the Light, like giving them a subclass, exotics, armor and the option to skip the tutorial. But if anything, this head start just makes new players understand the game even less, because they were given shit that they dont even know what it is

Ive been grinding for a while and still a long ways from max and new lights get to max immediately
new players now have it so easy lol i remember having to grind and level all the way up to level 30 then while doing that level my light from 0 to 1200 and was an absolute nightmare and would always discourage me from making any alts in the game

Pre into the light the answer would be no but with all the content it actually seems feasible

11:00 I think telling new players that just getting the weapon and not the “god roll” is enough is a bit misleading; I agree that specially in PvE not having the best MW, mag, barrel can be negligible but the actual perks can definitely change how your gun and whole build works, not everyone is gonna get the 5/5 but a big part of Destiny is the chase for those god rolls, for new players tho just having the perks should be fine tho
Yeah Weapon Perks are super important. Sweat is right that you don't need need the Godroll most of the time, but the difference between a Godroll&Demigodroll can be MASSIVE depending on the gun&what you want the gun to do. A non-Godroll can usually still get the job done though.
Not at all you can literally do the whole game easily with the worst perks or worse…… with blues. The difference is how quickly you beat the boss . Banshe can literally supply what you need and you are good. It is the the rest of the meta players that will bar you from participating if the boss don’t die in 2 phases lol. Destiny needs to rework their weapon system because once you snap out of that weapon craze , not on it do the weapons look the same but they basically are. Let’s stop coping
Facts, my friend just started playing recently and was asking what he should spend his ciphers on. I told him just buy stuff he thinks looks cool and will enjoy. There is literally no reason to go for amazing weapons at first, you can do most of the content without it@Kyubii01

I think they’re just missing a story for free players which is the biggest thing that needs to be addressed like maybe shadowkeep since it’s all about the past horrors they could inform us about what happened to whatever boss your fighting (Ghaul, fanatic, Crota).

2 mini expansions a year, no more seasons. Without question. Seasons are the death of innovation.

Final Shape isn’t the final expansion btw it’s just the conclusion to the current story
At 8:50 I do somewhat disagree, I’ve been playing since d1 and whereas it still isn’t anything as exciting as getting a god roll or exotic in d1 finally getting a god roll shiny or something from onslaught feels pretty good, I lost my mind when I finally got my spike grenade envious bait and switch shiny edge transit 😂
It’s still needs a new player campaign so they can feel invested in the story
