    well it's a lathe ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxN9zrzkkhnjUF5PQbuA_B1gYdsfCu9k6z but it wasn't what i would have anticipated. Headstock, tailstock, carriage apron are manufactured from aluminum now not cast iron. The spindle diameter for the bearings is too small allowing for a few play in the spindle so I am using some blue Loctite to take out the play.

    Had to upgrade my Sieg C3 as the board burnt out. Went with a C6374 from Ebay, a 60amp esc and servo tester, all powered by a 24v 25amp power supply.
    I now have 2.7kw instead of 350w. It cost approximately $160au which is $30 less than the price of a new replacement board. It all works as standard, even the speed indicator.

    Can you still cut threads with ac motor conversion?? Does after conversion the lathe has all the capabilities that had before with the dc?? especially threading and auto feed?

    • @SkyHeroII
      @SkyHeroII 3 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can, as the connection between the main spindle and the feed spindle is untouched. At around 06:05 you can see this quite well.

    IIt didn't take me long to burn out my 500w motor on my chinese lathe so I replaced it with a 2400w motor from a useless mulcher I had ,as for the pulleys I changed them to multi-v [they last longer ] ,That enabled me to make a simple clutch I have made a lot of changes to my chinese lathe ,now I can make a reasonable depth of cut on alloy steels i

    First, always cover the ways with a board when you change the chuck, Second, a good set of taper roller bearings in the spindle will do wonders for runout and noise.

    Well done young man someone in your life took the time to teach you skills that you demonstrated during this video. Who ever it was, your dad an uncle, a friend or maybe a shop teacher. Whom ever it was “ Bravo” for taking the time to teach him right, skills that will last him a lifetime and memories he will carry and share for ever. America needs to get our kids away from the shootem up videos and out to the garage or basement to share more one on one time and build stuff. Young man keep up the good and impressive work.

    Nice mod for an old mini lathe. The new 7x16 mini lathes from Little machine Shop and Micro mark come with powerful brushless DC motors that have so much low end torque that the noisy 2 speed gearbox is not required. Their mini mills use the same motor, and they are really quiet as well as powerful.

    ales, te doy un truco para convertir tu sierra de banda que corte automaticamente, 1 paso el tornillo del eje donde balancea la sierra aloja en su interior un muelle que es el que te sube la sierra, quitaselo y ajusta la presion del tornillo de tal forma que la maquina caiga sola pero sin que tenga juego , 2 el boton (Pulsador) del mango lo suelta e inviertes los contactos con el fin de que si no lo pulsas la maquina se enciende y si lo pulsas se apaga.

    Enhorabuena por la mecánica. La eléctrica nos has dejado con muchas preguntas. El motor parece trifásico amenos que tenga el condensador dentro de la caja de empalmes. Mejor trifásico porque tiene mayor par de arranque. Esto concuerda con el variador de velocidad V/F . He encontrado uno parecido de menor potencia ASX-AT1 pero 750X ( 0.750kW ) y es entrada monofasico 220v y salida regulada en velocidad ( frecuencia) trifásica. ¿Voy orientado?

    Muito bom, prendendo comprar um torno deste modelo e fazer as mesmas modificações.
    Ainda vou modificar para que ele se torne CNC.
    Parece que você pretende fazer o mesmo.
    Uma dica é você fazer um sistema para lubrificação do material usinado, luz e proteção telescópica ou sanfonada nos fusos, barramento e carro transversal.
    E mais uma dica é de instalar paquimetros digitais de profundidade no carro transversal, assim quando você for usar de forma manual terá um indicador digital que lhe dará precisão.
    Faz uma base que colete e filtre o óleo solúvel que você vai utilizar caso faça o sistema de lubrificação.
