*what I liked about Philippine based K-vloggers.especially Jessica. Wala silang ka ego ego, they stay low-key and very engaging. They don't need to flaunt and show off their wealth to come up with a fun entertaining content. They don't even need to hype to get attention. Instead, they rely on their creativity. Unlike most typical famous Pinoy vloggers.*

This is actually "colonial mentality" my friends. We like foreigners acknowledging our culture and way of life. On the pinoy side of things, we want to see pinoys living the "rich life". Vicariously living off from their "rich" experiences. And yt vlogging have indeed created a number of pinoy millionaires.

I love how self aware she is. Alam niyang pretty and korean-looking siya kaya ang daming bumibili siya. Ina-acknowledge niya na may privileges siya kaya naging advantage niya. And how she’s aware na ang sad nga nung comment na she’s too pretty to be a tindera instead of taking it as a funny joke, kasi she wants to be seen as a vendor herself. Hays cutie.

Maybe they should ugly her up and add some padding to make her look 30 lbs. heavier and darken her complexion and give her a fake flat nose. I'd like to see if her enthusiasm and bubbly personality alone would generate the same amount of sales. Myth Busters did an experiment on that where the hot chick host went undercover as a waitress and got the most amount of tips when she wore a padded bra that made her huge and didn't do so well when she had her upper body shrink-wrapped to make her flat as a surfboard.

Some say that the name "Dirty Ice cream" was spread by mums or dads trying to scare their kids away, telling their kids how it's made or what it is made of. Example is yung tip daw ng cone is sinusuksok sa ilong, yung sa friend naman ni Jessica is because of saliva, yung sabi naman ni kuya bong dahil daw sa alikabok sa kalsada, and yung sa iba naman is coconut milk ginagamit instead of fresh milk. I think Sorbetes/Dirty Ice cream's history depends on what your parents, Lolo & Lola's, Friends told you. Or kung saan mo man narinig hanggang sa mag pasa-pasa na. 😂

No, actually its called dirty ice cream because it doesnt use milk instead from the old recipes it used coconut milk and brown sugar which when mixed came out not as pure white but a bit brown so making the ice cream brown even without coloring or flavoring added. back then most of the filipinos couldnt afford milk just to put on ice cream som someone thought of a cheap alternative.

Hi Jessica, nice bringing back the trabaho series. I guess calling dirty ice being sold in carts in streets should be removed and just say plain "ice cream". It's time to make a change for this. It is not dirty at all. Thanks for all the effort and rewarded with a kalyo - no pain no gain!

Yeah... That's what I was saying years ago... DoT should rename it to just Sorbetes or street ice cream. For first time foreigners hearing the words "Dirty Ice cream" isn't appealing. Also, the Ice cream itself isn't dirty! I get it... It's sold in the streets that's why it's called "dirty" but by the same logic we should call fishballs sold on the streets as Dirty Fishballs? Doesn't make sense right? For me... The word "Dirty" in itself is degrading. Normalizing it as an "OK" word for something that is to be consumed/eaten is wrong.

The Maranan brand of dirty ice cream is P40 in intramuros. He didn't get ripped off. They use waffle cones not the cheap thin cones we normally get. They also put 5-6 scoops of ice cream on the cone. This is a legit "higher end" dirty ice cream.

The "dirty ice cream" label started as an elitist label in the 1970s. It was used by people who did not consume this kind of ice cream and only ate the big brand ice creams from supermarkets. When their children begged for it, they refused and would tell their kids that they should not buy it because it was dirty. People who used the label in the 1970s, really meant it. Back then, it was a derogatory label. It meant that it was literally dirty. When their children grew up, their children finally bought it for themselves, but they still used the label their elitist parents called it, "dirty ice cream". But to them it was just a cute and funny label and not derogatory. They used it with nostalgia to refer to the "forbidden" ice cream of their youth.

My mom used to tell me not to eat the ice cream, but I still did! She kept telling me and my siblings it's dirty and will make us sick--never got sick with it. It's really good, especially, with a dab of sweet mung bean paste on top! I wish people would stop calling it dirty ice cream. I'm sure sanitary practice is now in place to make it guaranteed safe for the belly😊

I saw a documentary decade ago about why they called it "Dirty Ice Cream" is because that Ice Cream Vendors used to touch anything that's unsanitary and not washing hands after (also after peeing). And touching Ice Cream' Cones afterwards to sell.
