🎤 To watch with subtitles, please click the ‘CC’ button on your UA-cam video player :) Good evening! And welcome to this bumper hour-long walk around the great seaside city of Brighton - once a small fishing settlement, and today one of England’s favourite coastal resorts, and a major metropolis home to almost 300,000 people! There’s so much history to see in and around Brighton, just a morsel of which we managed to visit on our epic tour of the city! But if you’re ever in Brighton for a full day - do take a longer walk along the seafront, where you can take a ride on the Electric Railway, and even a little further out of the city, see the spectacular chalk cliffs that line England’s south coast!
I was born there and couldn't wait to get out. All the drug dealers, the mess, homeless living in the doorways, graffiti, awful council that is only interested in bike lanes, etc.
A lovely video. Thanks. Having visited Brighton many, many times (lived in West Sussex for 40 years) I so enjoyed this opportunity to revisit from afar
thankyou for your brilliant narration and terrific expression. Wow. It added to the fantastic video. Thankyou. I wish you read the news. Why cant other people express , narrate like you have. Cheers, John (Australia)
I have a story for every corner of that Town and Hove. Havent been back properly in 10+ years and I miss it so much. The narration is honestly very very well done. Thanks for being the perfect guide for my nostalgic trip.
I love a town with a pier and I've not visited the one in Brighton since I was little. Maybe a trip is in order. Thank you for sharing and providing so much information.
As a born and raised Brightonian who now lives in the USA this video just made my day. Seeing all the places I remember from my childhood and early adulthood gave me so much joy. So much so that I am now making plans to bring my US born kiddos, and American hubs, home to Brighton for a holiday next summer! Thank you so much for this wonderful tour!
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, Brighton is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on UA-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug !!!🙂
Nice live video walk of the town of Brighton I enjoyed it can't wait to see more tomorrow. I like the medieval buildings and houses. Very beautiful and historical the town of Brighton is. Your history lessons are always great and your walks are always enjoyable. Have a great day greetings from Canada 😀
Great little walk around my home town. I love it here. (Apart from the 'tagging' graffiti all over the place. There is, however, a lot of brilliant graffiti wall art around - just not the taggers).
That pink building you looked at used to be the Hanningtons department store not "leeds building society" in fact i dont ever remember a leeds building society in Brighton. On the other side of the road was where the banks are/were.
Thank you very much for your video. I love to see and get information about Brighton. The best is i can enjoy the walking and improving my english at the same time!
Another great walking tour, enjoyable commentary the cherry on top. Six years since we were in Brighton, really enjoyed the walk bringing back some wonderful memories.
You are not quite right with the time ball, the timeball was dropped at 'midday' everyday to tell mariners the time so they could set their clocks to greenwich mean time, it went out of fashion when radio technology advance.
Obesity appears as one of Brighton’s main social and personal problems: the sheer wanton size of some of those manifesting their presence in the Laines recalls to mind the debate as to whether overweight airline travellers should pay for the adjoining seats they occupy. Can’t they go without eating once in a while!
What date was this.. I used to play with coloured Brighton beach pebbles - on the driveway of an uncle's house in Bridge of Allan, Scotland. They'd been trucked up there by a previous owner! Narration added post-production, the wise thing to do avoiding motor noise - though losing a little ambiance - overall often preferable.
Brighton buildings all painted in colurful colours gives the town life.defiently not in depression. My town southend on sea is run down.all brand named shops have gone.we just have indian cheap shops and cheap plastic mobile phone covers over priced. There are not ships to but gifts for people unless its electrical. I can bear going to my town.
What a nasty dump full of Crime and drunks in West street . This man is not showing you the real brighton I promise you it's a big dump. Hes talking about the past

This is the best historical survey of Brighton that I have found on the Web. Many congratulations to its creator.
Brighton is great, proud to call it my home, we're green friendly too which is a bonus

And you went to Brighton on the Brighton Belle Pullman.
You are not quite right with the time ball, the timeball was dropped at 'midday' everyday to tell mariners the time so they could set their clocks to greenwich mean time, it went out of fashion when radio technology advance.
Nice video. I miss Brighton. BTW komedia is pronounced comedia.
I was born and bred in Brighton; it’s a ‘foam town’, where they make good beer….
Awesome when was this filmed?
probably last summer or summer before that, its been raining and very windy here for the past few weeks, its definitely not recent.

It’s in the title: 2021!

let´s has gone south !
It’s odd seeing the Albion hotel in one piece after it burnt down earlier this year
ABBA made a comeback a couple of months ago after nearly 40 years. They released an album called "Voyage" with brand new songs.

Hate to be pedantic, but Brighton is not a "city", but merely a "town" that is part of the city of "Brighton and Hove".
People actually drank pints of seawater 😮
If you go on the Royal Pier, do you get a peerage. 😂
Oi what happened in the alley 😉😂
LESTLifeTyapryDIE🇬🇧🙏🇬🇧
Disappointed you did not go around the pier.
Graffiti ruins Brighton, why don’t the council cover it up
KurifDTADLIVEINBRIGHTON🇬🇧🙏🇬🇧
Why go to Brighton when you could go to Cornwall
Shame it’s outdated and the graffiti all around the city say a lot. But hopefully things are changing.
Things are getting worse unfortunately. Crime rates getting dangerously high and brightons getting dirtier
Stop calling Brighton Pier. It's name is the Palace Pier!
What a nasty dump full of Crime and drunks in West street . This man is not showing you the real brighton I promise you it's a big dump. Hes talking about the past
How big is Brighton’s gay population?
