More like Connor was confused with Kara's determination of act. Her stare was just epic and the theme was damn intense. This game wasn't even awarded, but it was a year where great games were released along with it. Tough luck
And this is where you know that Connor is already a deviant. No machine would express their frustration by saying "shit". Connor doesn't just curse, he really looks frustrated and angry that they escaped.
Maybe deviant potential but they don't become deviant until they either break down their programming wall or are freed by another deviant. A good example would be Luther who straight out apologized to Kara inside the house but didn't actually gain his freedom until he was outside and saw Alice risk her life to save Kara.

I chose to not chase them because 1.) hank ordered me not to and 2.) I didn’t want to risk killing Kara. I was bad enough at the highway part, I didn’t need her being chased too. Lol

So I played this once with my girlfriend and ex-roommate, where we each handed off the controller for each character, I was Connor and my gf was Kara and oh boy was this a fun scene with the constant controller hand-offs. I did chase her across the highway and handed it back to her when it got to the second half of the highway. She makes it across okay but of course fails the ONE QTE that ends up killing Connor after Kara pushes him off! I was mad and laughing in one of those moments where you wish that didn’t happen but find it funny that it did. One of my favorite moments from that playthrough
Alot of people mis this chase because they play bias and have Connor give up early i wishmore people would play to win no matter wich character they're controlling
I think it's fine for people to choose who's they want to support cause that's what the choices are for: to make your own decisions and create your own story. P.S.: Sorry for the grammar mistakes. I'm French.

Connor seeing Alice and Kara die should have.spiked his.instability up. He just saw a child and mother die. He looked traumatized, so why not have a software spike?
I don't understand the flow chart. I guess if you pick specific options prior to the chase, some other stuff won't show up. Not choices to impact but just different forms. Kara slept in the hotel after a crime spree with Kara. I intentionally failed the the street police escape so Connor could chases Kara, in hope for Hank to respect Connor. But Kara is my favorite and I didn't want Kara to die or get captured. Kara managed to escape but no metro train was shown.
Im shareplaying this with a friend where we pass the controllwr between characters. When i was crossing the freewY with kara the game started lagging and she ended up dying :((( the one agreement we had at the beginning of the game was no restarts :'(
