This is an old video, but for anyone purchasing this machine, please note that the instructions say clearly to NOT tamp the grounds. That would explain the burnt taste. It doesn't have enough pressure to make espresso with tamped grounds. Plus, that will cause you to start out with way too many grounds in the filter basket.
You mean we should just drop the grounded coffee and extract into espresso without pressing with that tamper? Sorry for silly question, New to espresso machine 😅 I tamped it very forcefully and could see coffee powder in the extracted coffee.
2 years now and works great. Mine looks a little different but has the same functions. I make it Cuban style with the first drippings going into the sugar; just enough to make a paste.
GREAT presentation, thank you, it really help me figure out my new machine. A friendly suggestion, use only organic coffee because coffee is the MOST sprayed crop, and we don't want to drink pesticides.
Just something Iv found, the burnt taste your experiencing is the machine. It took to long to pull. You want it to have a foam on the top. If it doesn’t the shot is “dead”. So my advice, and solution, turn it to put the shot, then instantly turn it to the steamer till it heats up. Once it starts to steam, switch it back. Now the water will be hot enough to pull the shot. Also make sure your flow of the shot is fast-ish. If it’s dripping, you tamped to tight.
OK I already have a french press and a tiny Mr coffee like yours. Now I want this imusa!!!! It looks easy to use. Does the Cuisinart burr grinder work good?
Super appreciated this. I bought the machine went to make some espresso yesterday and it came out terribly. But I didn’t have the compacter tool you used. I also didn’t consider the pressure bar system you mentioned how the imusa is a 5 bar and most are 9. I work for Starbucks and I’m like how do I make this espresso without spending a million dollars on a machine. So I’m going to try again today and hopefully it works. I bought expensive espresso beans lol and I don’t want to keep wasting them on a failing machine. Have a good day!
So a few questions brother, can I use any coffee like Folgers or something like that? Or is there a coffee ground just for cappuccino and espressos? And as far as flavor, I'm a hazelnut guy. Do I add creamer or get hazelnut flavored ground beans?
Trying to decide on this or an aero press as a low cost way to make esspresso, particularly with the crema foam on top, this didn’t look like it had that?
Neither will give you the crema you desire. They don't produce high enough pressure. I like them both If I had to choose one over the other...Aeropress all day
Leaning towards that, I know the aeropress technically isn’t supposed to but I’ve seen some videos where if you use it a certain way you can make a poor mans esspresso shot, something about inverting it and pushing down very hard..was very tempted by the 30 dollar machine though lol
Lol you’re the guy that commented on the Josh and Melissa channel with their Imusa espresso maker. I just happened to notice that because I am trying to research how do you froth the milk and why my milk isn’t frothing. I do it the way I have seen it done or read it to be done but it’s still not working
Well I thought I would just update you, I've come to the conclusion that I may not be doing anything wrong trying to froth the milk, there is air escaping from the top of the little black piece that you immerse in the milk to froth the milk
Tammy Adkins I just had luck turning to the steam position right at the end the f brewing when it gets loud, and not very much milk in your cup - just enough, heated and bubbled right up
VR G just wait for it, I done figured it out 😂 Get everything ready, get the coffee and water in there, set your cup out with the milk in it, it pays to have it already out and ready. Set it on brew, wait for the sound of the brewing to start, switch the knob to steam, pick up your milk cup and put the steam nozzle in, and wait. It takes like 30 seconds to really get kickin but you steam for probably another 30 seconds to get it it all piping hot. Switch it back over to brew and good to go. Also helps to have a water cup set out so you can rinse the nozzle clean. Hope this helps
I'm confused by measurement in United States each cup is about 8 oz, And you said you make 4 cup, Which 4 cups = 32 oz, The cup you was holding there is no way to be 32 oz, It looks like 4 oz not 4 cups
hi! not sure if you'll respond but I'm seriously looking for a little machine that makes decent espresso. I'm not very picky and I only drink iced lattes for the most part. (also to note I know a little about how to take care of expresso machines as I have been a barista at Starbucks for almost two years and had my fair share of a bratty machine) Do you think its worth for the price??
Yes! But be careful which matcha you buy. You want organic matcha powder. Don’t put any of the chai/ latte/ mix matcha powders because they add sugar and it would ruin your machine!!!
I bought this three days ago. I use the Starbucks "Dark Roast". I fill it to the right amount of water and espresso, but for some reason it tastes too weak for me. Am I using it wrong? I do add more espresso to try and make it stronger, but no luck. At the same time I also think to myself that it's an affordable espresso machine, so I shouldn't expect it to be the best espresso. When I turn it on, I should just leave it on the little cup setting correct?
Ckiefer.045, Can you do another video and make cappuccino? I bought this model to replace the Krups machine that I bought around 30 years ago and was a factory rebuild unit and not new. The steam tube broke off on that one and the part is not available. The Krups put out quite a lot of steam power. The IMUSA puts out an anemic amount of steam to froth the milk. I'd like to see if you have better luck that me. Hope you decide to do that video.

Forgot to add, it should take no more then 35 seconds to pull all 4 shots.
Cool. Thank for the tips. I'll give it a shot
Yes exactly based on another review I watched, the crema was perfect and thats exactly what they did!
Thanks, wish you could have used the frother bc I'm clueless with it, the manual was little help.
Dude thank you
Since it creates crema that only last seconds either the machine does not have enough pressure or he is doing it wrong
Nice review. I just ordered that exact machine and was wondering if you knew the diameter or size of your coffee tamper. Thanks.
wo flat tamping surfaces, 50mm (around 1.9") and 56mm (around 2.2”)

Thanks for the video just recently got one for free and this helped a lot to know what to do exactly.!
Thank you.
where to get the small pot or carefee separately?
I guess email or write imusa! They should be able to sell you one separately.

Thanks, Jon. Hope you are well
I can either refrains the caribe ... or mix it with bustelo, which is what I do
Thanks for the tutorial

You can, but it will not be very good. Espresso ground coffees work best. The packages will be marked espresso or fine ground
I’d add a hazelnut flavor after the coffee. Whether creamer of a fun hazelnut sauce. Get good beans with their own natural great flavor.
Didn't know Hulk Hogan was here😆

Yes. The cups I was referring to are espresso cups (demitasse cups) and are 2-3oz (60-90ml) each

Buy this one! You won't be disappointed. I love mine and I don't like anything. 😂😂
bought it yesterday. it and easy
I like coffee! I m Italian. Caffe espresso is very good. Hello friends
Thanks, Daniele! I enjoy cafe espresso, and little machine works pretty well. Thank for watching
Try a shake of salt to your coffee grounds it a middlemen custom it takes away the biterness
In that kind of coffee maker just add a PINCH OF SALT to the coffee (either before or after brewing) it'll get rid of the bitterness.
Thank you! Super informative 👍🏽
Great review! Very Helpful :)

Are you packing the coffee grounds. That will make a difference
Ckiefer.045 no I am not. I just throw them in there. I will try that next time. Thanks for replying 🙂
@@Aimy037 it could also be the size of the grind. If you can grind it or buy espresso ground. Hope that helps

Cafe Caribe ! Worst coffee… it's bitter, flavorless nasty junk. No redeeming qualities even when mixed with tons of milk. Aroma is good ?
Fragile it’s French 🙏
