Pro Tip: The hole in the drip tray is a perfect size for the drip funnel to rest in so if you need to set down your filter you can have it rest there for a moment.
Honestly this has been the best review I've seen in years and although I do have one of the Mr. Coffee Espresso machines which I bought at a Goodwill store, your review has shown me so much of what I needed to do. Thank you very much for a concise review on this machine. Kudos to you and the little puppy that was looking for a treat in your video 😊.
I got this exact machine at a second hand store, minus the instruction booklet, so this video was key to my first successful attempt using it. You’d be proud of the cappuccino puck l got from it. Thanks for sharing.
To help with the bitterness add your vanilla to your cup before brewing the expresso. The longer the expresso is brewed without something to mix with the more bitter it will be. Also works with brewing it straight into the frothy milk.
Thank you! Barista here and I’m watching a bunch of videos on this machine. Everyone cues the shots before steaming the milk and I’m like nooo the shots die and taste bitter that way.
If You want real coffee !! Don’t mixed it ! Real coffee has it’s own sweetness Try it !! Pure ! Not starbucks not dunking ! It sucks !! Ask me for real colombian cofee
Great video. FYI - you can use the hole that is in the center of the drip tray to hold the portafilter handle so you do not spill (just move it down after unscrewing it from the top and the drip nipple sits right into the hole on the tray). These machines just keep going! I have had mine for 3+ years already.
This was so helpful! And soothing lol. Before I even saw the name of the channel I thought to myself “this is so nice like having my dad explain things to me”
the thing I like to do with mine is turn on the steam first to heat up, close the pressure cap, then the espresso comes out right away. that way you have a little more control
Thank you! I needed this video so much. Game changer. I see a lot of videos about cheap espresso machines I’m like nooo mines is cheaper lol and I need help to figure this out to make good espresso. This video is amazing and exactly what I needed!
I literally subscribed to this channel because of how helpful this one video was. I couldn’t find just how many ounces were used with this machine and he answered it immediately. Thank you
Thank you for getting to the point showing everything and explaining simply but effectively. I actually began thanking that I don't want this gar machine it's too much trouble but after seeing you do it it makes me excited about possibly getting one
Thanks! Very clear instructions. The On/Off switch confused me. Standing over the switch, setting Off to 12’o’clock seemed the intuitive choice but I was wrong. A nice, inexpensive machine and a great gift as well.
I like this little machine and I’ve got a Starbucks dupe recipe but man it feel like it takes me 10 minutes to make coffee. Worth it to save the money but wish it was fewer steps.
Thanks so much for this video tutorial.I have my Mr. Coffee machine too but i didn't use it for a long year..OMG!😂 that's why i search on how to use it properly. It really helps!❤❤❤❤ glad you came!
Just picked one of these up, never made espresso or cappuccinos anything but 2 cups in and I like it. First one I did the 4 shot like that then topped it off with a splash of steamed milk, oh boy was that the strongest cup of coffee I've ever had 😂
I just stick the steam wand into the cup at an angle, so it's shooting steam along the wall. You'll see the milk swirling around like a whirl pool. The milk is in constant, consistent motion, builds up froth, but never boils out like that
Thank you so much for doing this video! I´m thinking of buying it, it will be my first coffee maker, normally I used instant coffee. This was highly educative and I enjoy it, I see myself watching this multiple times after buying it to learn how to use it hahaha. Thanks a lot!
I have a very similar - Tower brand - machine. That has a sticker which specifies to use medium to coarse ground coffee. That seems to work very well for me. No bitterness and a huge range of ground coffee is available - AKA suitable for 'most' coffee machines.
Excellent video, tell me this question: when you poured water from a glass into the tank, you could hear from the sound that there was still room for it, how much maximum water can be poured there? Thank you .
This is the espresso maker I chose. I didn’t like the Keurig K-Cafe Smart based on your video. The Keurig K-Cafe is too big. This was a good size, and you reminded me that we used to have this one a long time ago and we liked it.
I got this as a gift! Just dont tamp your coffee too hard and think of this machine more as an electrical moka pot than an espresso maker, the coffee it produces is quite good but you do need to let the steam wand pre-heat a little bit! It takes time but it produces a lot of steam, very good for steaming milk!
Good video. Sucks that the company cheaped up, I bought this machine about 4/5 years ago and it came with a nice small glass carafe, similar to a regular coffee machine carafe.
I found this machine on facebook marketplace used for 25 bucks. Played around with it a bit but it does spit out a fairly bitter espresso and the crema pull is not very adequate. I just stepped up and ordered a Breville Infuser (I know, its like comparing a camaro to a pinto but still LOL). I'm sure more can be dialed in on this such as grind and tamp but I want a little less fuss.
Great video excellent close up shots. 3 weeks ago I purchased this after viewing your excellent video, however my espresso does not pour out all that creama the way your does, I repeated watched your video even buying Bustelo, only difference is that I purchased the one with the cafre instead of the milk frother, do you think both machines are different??? Would love to hear from you regarding this, take care and GOD bless
I know it’s way too late but bustello is too fine. I had to grind my own to make it better. Now I have a new machine that’s way better and more luxurious.
Yeah these 3.5 bar pressure machines don't really require a tamper as it isn't needing a perfectly flat surface to pour a shot. It seems to work almost like a drip coffee with a little pressure. Interesting seeing one of these in action. Have you tried to use fresher/better quality coffee and if that improved the bitterness much? Most reviews I read on these machines mentioned tasting some bitterness too so I was curious if it the machine or the coffee. Thanks for the upload!
I had to grind my own, the size is the most important. Even with fresh coffee it was ehh. But It did add much more crema so take what you want. I got a new machine so I’m out of that hell hole.
Got this earlier and cleaned it and got it working. Just made my first latte and was surprised it wasn't as strong as I expected. I filled the grounds cup to the 2 like and the water to the 2 plus steam and followed the instructions. How much milk is recommended? I used 8oz of whole milk.
@@LuigiLion7378 yes, its kinda of a guessing game, its the same water that makes the espresso then you have to turn it to steam before all the water goes to make the esrpesso.
I bought this model about 6mos ago and it works fine but just last week the steam is not coming through the frother as powerfully as it used to. How do I fix this? problem
Hi, I’ve lost the poring cup, ugh! Can you tell me the measurement for the 2 shots with steam? I believe you said 2 shots is 2 ounces but it seems like more water needs to be added for 2 shots with steam. Thanks.
Thanks so much, I got them from Amazon and I love them. JoyJolt Declan Coffee Mug. Glass Coffee Mugs Set of 6. Clear Glass Coffee Cups 16 Oz amzn.to/3EBy8Lz
My espresso viscosity looks a bit light and watery. I used the exact measurements for 2 cups plus the steam and stopped it right after the brew stopped coming out. I am using dark Italian espresso. It isn't nearly as frothy at the top either. What do you think is wrong?
finally a review that makes sense and filmed well
Thanks so much!
YESSSSS!!!! Thank you!!! I appreciate your video and you for making it!!
Yes I’ve had this machine for over a year and realize I have not been using it completely right lol this was super helpful!
Yes!
Very helpful and straight to the point
Pro Tip:
The hole in the drip tray is a perfect size for the drip funnel to rest in so if you need to set down your filter you can have it rest there for a moment.
Makes a total sense and much better than the manual instructions. Thank You!
Well done, I bought this little machine yesterday and I love it. Adding a tiny pinch of salt will cut the acidity and bitter taste ❤
Give this man an Oscar he just showed me the way to make coffee and showed me tips too now I can actually make coffee without me messing up thank u😂
Thank you for watching! Glad it helped!
I got this exact machine at a second hand store, minus the instruction booklet, so this video was key to my first successful attempt using it. You’d be proud of the cappuccino puck l got from it. Thanks for sharing.

or just don't use bustelo lol... that stuff is like $3, there's a reason it tastes like booty

It sucks !! Ask me for real colombian cofee
@kaylenekoteen6146 so your saying steam milk the brew shot?
Or use a little more course or don’t tamp as much so it doesn’t burn
This was very helpful. I'd say this is the best video review out there.
Great video. FYI - you can use the hole that is in the center of the drip tray to hold the portafilter handle so you do not spill (just move it down after unscrewing it from the top and the drip nipple sits right into the hole on the tray). You're very welcome!
My husband just bought this for me tonight. Thank you for the helpful video! Getting ready to try my first brew!
Thanks! Very clear instructions.
The On/Off switch confused me. Standing over the switch, setting Off to 12’o’clock seemed the intuitive choice but I was wrong. A nice, inexpensive machine and a great gift as well.

I totally agree!
Got one of these for Christmas, I’ve never made espresso in my life, so this was super helpful!
well done on the video, my friend. Very helpful. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to use the milk frother. very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for making this. The best review for anything I've seen. Your video made me confident to attempt my 1st cappuccino 😊
Thanks so much for this video tutorial.I have my Mr. Coffee machine too but i didn't use it for a long year..OMG!😂 that's why i search on how to use it properly. It really helps!❤❤❤❤ glad you came!
Glad it was helpful!
I really appreciate your video, this helped solve all of my confusion about this machine!
You are welcome!
What a great review and instructions! I hate reading instructions so this is great!
Best review and instructional video on this product by far thank you!
I’m so used to using the Starbucks machine and got one of these for Christmas so tysm for this video
THANK YOU!!! Just got this expresso machine and wanted to make sure I was doing it well.
Glad I could help!
Excellent review. Now I know how to make expresso right!
I'm considering buying this machine and this review was super helpful!
Hope you enjoy it!
Just picked one of these up, never made espresso or cappuccinos anything but 2 cups in and I like it. First one I did the 4 shot like that then topped it off with a splash of steamed milk, oh boy was that the strongest cup of coffee I've ever had 😂
yeah it does make one strong espresso, Thanks for sharing your story!
Great video. You followed the manual very well. Have you done a video on cleaning?
Your video was A LOT more helpful than their manual. Thank you!
Glad to hear that!
Thx for the review! Makes it easier for a beginner to have good insight !
Got exactly what I came for, thank you! ❤ ☕️
So glad!

That is a good point, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the step by step. Just picked up this machine today
Have fun!
Love how he even measure the water that was awesome and the whole video is just great
Thank you a lot ,I never knew all my life how that was make it.

Yay! Finally one done with the one my hubs got me for Christmas, I didn’t realize the steps I was missing 🤦🏻♀️😏🤷🏻♀️.
I just got this at Target! Im excited to start using it!
Let me know how it goes
I'm waiting for mine to arrive and I'm so excited to use it for the first time. Thanks for the video~~~
Hope you enjoy it when it arrives. Thanks for watching the video!
Thank you very much, I lost the measuring cup and watched many videos but no one gave an equivalent measurement, not I can make coffee!!
I just bought this for myself for Christmas
Thank you for measuring the measuring cup!! #realhero
You're welcome

I just figured out that you can put the port-a-filers in the big middle hole on the drip tray. It won’t spill over when adding your coffee.
Great instructional video. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks! This helped a lot.
Thank you very much, helpful. I live n a small apartment and concern if the steam will set off smoke alarm. But loving it.
You're welcome!

My pleasure 😊
What has been improved from this newest model compared to the last model of the same unit which was like 2 years ago.
My only question I can’t find is while frothing and making cup together how do you know you used all the steam so you don’t use the espresso water
Thank you!!!
Welcome!
I just bought and my first time to make cappuccinos and I failed steaming the milk😅. I’ll try again.
it takes some practice but you got this!

Happy to help
Muchas gracias amigo
When I try to use this machine mine always comes out strong and bitter as well.
I'm glad it's not just me.
I know it’s way too late but bustello is too fine.
I had to grind my own to make it better.
Now I have a new machine that’s way better and more luxurious.
Thaks dad!!❤
Thats a cool espresso machine
Thanks
A question: how did you get the lovely brown foam on your espresso? I pack some Illy into my machine, a fine cup of joe but always no foam.
Yeah these 3.5 bar pressure machines don't really require a tamper as it isn't needing a perfectly flat surface to pour a shot. It seems to work almost like a drip coffee with a little pressure. Most reviews I read on these machines mentioned tasting some bitterness too so I was curious if it the machine or the coffee. Thanks for the upload!
I use Cameron's Organic Velvet Moon Espresso Roast with this machine and it is not bitter at all. I used Cafe Bustelo at first and it was very bitter.
I had to grind my own, the size is the most important. Even with fresh coffee it was ehh.
But It did add much more crema so take what you want.
I got a new machine so I’m out of that hell hole.
What is the voluemr of the cup for water?
Got this earlier and cleaned it and got it working. Just made my first latte and was surprised it wasn't as strong as I expected. I filled the grounds cup to the 2 like and the water to the 2 plus steam and followed the instructions. How much milk is recommended? I used 8oz of whole milk.
yeah that is about right
Do you put more water for the steam work?
@@LuigiLion7378 yes, its kinda of a guessing game, its the same water that makes the espresso then you have to turn it to steam before all the water goes to make the esrpesso.
I only drink coffee with kcup thank you for this video. I want to buy it
It's so good!
Well I definitely just been taking the lid off… huh couldn’t figure out why it was hot😂😩it’s hard not having common sense thanks for the video!
You got this!
I read somewhere it has alluminum parts inside. Other than that, machine looks good for the price.
Is the removable wand cover just for hand protection or is it important for the milk to froth? Mine came missing the cover.
It's not important to frothing.
Do you have to have the portafilter in if JUST frothing?
I bought this model about 6mos ago and it works fine but just last week the steam is not coming through the frother as powerfully as it used to. How do I fix this? problem
Great video! Very well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi, I’ve lost the poring cup, ugh! Can you tell me the measurement for the 2 shots with steam? I believe you said 2 shots is 2 ounces but it seems like more water needs to be added for 2 shots with steam. Thanks.
Hi. I just acquired an EVM-170 from a friend. There is no carafe or measuring pitcher. How many ounces of water should I use for a 4 shot? Thank you.
5?
Great video! Thanks!
Hi J.A.D, Happy belated Easter. Great review and nice seeing Ms Fiona. I have to ask, where did you get that coffe mug? I really like it.
Thanks so much, I got them from Amazon and I love them. JoyJolt Declan Coffee Mug. Glass Coffee Mugs Set of 6. Clear Glass Coffee Cups 16 Oz amzn.to/3EBy8Lz
great vid thanks!
Do you still recommend
Mr. Coffee One-Touch CoffeeHouse for espresso and lattes or something else now ?
yes very easy to use and I love it still
Happy Easter.
Same to you!

How much milk did you use? I can’t seem to get the froth on mine
There is a hole in the center of the overflow tray that holds the portafiler for you.
