Nice, I'm collecting some of those Figures. 👍 It is sad that Mega Construx stopped the production of the Advent Calendar 2021 which have included the only figure of Orko. 🙁
These are very cool and as a kid I'd have preferred to have many smaller figures versus one larger figure, as well as having lego-compatible vehicles and playsets that I could add to or rebuild. I think a missed opportunity here is that these aren't in scale with the Lego mini-figures; I understand that making these bigger than Lego figures allows for more articulation and accessories, but if they had made these slightly smaller they would've been compatible with all of the existing Lego sets. In any event, I'm glad that these exist! Thanks for sharing these with us.
Nice review. I really like these little MOTU toys. There’s something really nice about them. It’s amazing how detailed and articulate they have made such a small figure. Awesome.
Dont know if you'd be interested in it, but it'd be fun to see you cobble together these same figures from various Lego mini-figures. I'd imagine Beast-man and Adam would be the most difficult.
Man these figures are super cool looking. I have a few of these the faker figure being one of them. Never would have thought about the T2 swap for battle damage effect. Infact I didn't even know they made the T2 figure. Gonna have to go out and get one now. Very cool. I think these would be nice for a collector with not a lot of room. Almost as good looking as the real thing, but half the room needed. Thanks again Dave, and as always you and yours are in my prayers
I actually like that small Skeletor head looks better than the head on the large, modern figures. These are not really something that I'd collect, but I appreciate you sharing them. If I had kids, I can easily see buying these for them.
Sort of a brand name hybrid evolution going on there, Mega Bloks bought by Mattel in 2014, also Mattel owning Fisher-Price by 1993 too where they had the Construx toy line in the 80s, and finally ending with Mega Construx now. I got a couple figures and was happy with the quality enough to want more, give those larger sets a go. I like that they made so many small inexpensive sets to collect but some of the larger sculpture sets are nice too.
Great review Dave, many thanks my son and I have been collecting these for some years now and we absolutely love these, check out the Battle Cat and Panthor figures they are quite nice especially Panthor, he comes flocked like the original one, really cool, again massive thanks Dave.....cheers!
The first time I saw these, I was very interested. The articulation is very impressive and the details are excellent. I can see the issues you referred to on the quality but I must admit that I’m more and more tempted to give them a shot. The Grayskull playset looks amazing. Thank you for the share Dave. Cheers!
There’s a reason why people tend to call Mega Construx cheaper LEGO alternatives. Doesn’t automatically make them bad though, as the figures and play sets can look really good for their size. They are definitely one of the best LEGO alternatives out there lately. Are you gonna tackle one of the vehicles and play sets of this line too? Because I’ve heard they are pretty solid brick built recreations of the vintage MOTU vehicles and sets. These are definitely for older audiences. Judging from some other Mega Construx sets I’ve seen where the mini-figures are a bit more simplistic in articulation. Nicely done video overall.
Originally they were put out in cases with other IP, usually 2 from each, then later Mattel started releasing full cases of just MOTU. Wish I thought of doing the battle damaged faker back when these were easier to find.
I’ve had the big set in my closet waiting on me to do a video for a couple years…at this point it is pretty deep in the pile. I really enjoy these Mega Construx figures and have way too many.
What have you done to me? I'm a Lego guy and had no idea these were a thing because I never pay any attention to Lego alternative products. Now I want these and all the MOTU Mega Contrux sets.
I have been collecting these since they came out several years back. I currently have all of the sets except for the just recently released Snake Mountain set. Including the SDCC exclusive Battle Bones the figure total on hand is 64. I believe there are 6 additional figures in the Snake Mountain set. I will say the disappointing thing I found with this line is that there are a lot of "repaint" figures.
Word of warning be careful with the hands. I know Skeletor in particular has a nasty habit of having broken or stressed hands just from holding his accessories. While I do love Lego minifigures, MC figures aren't bad. I have quite a few of the Halo ones and they are just miniature action figures.
Have got Castle Greyskull and it is a pretty impressive set and the packaging is really impressive. Figures are great as well, so much articulation giving quite a bit of scope to use in stop motion videos - ua-cam.com/video/oWJ2YeQIBT8/v-deo.html
@@toypolloi Thanks. Yes the stop motion videos take quite a while to do, but it is quite a relaxing to switch off for a while and just take photos and move figures about. Definitely a lot more possibilities of what can be done with the MOTU figures than Lego minifigures, so I need to come up with an idea to do a full song with He-Man and his chums at some point.
Kind of annoying that Skeletor doesn't have a sword. They already have the mold for it and several figures have 2 accessories so there's no excuse really.
you should be wary of leaving the weapons in their hands for too long toypolloi, especially on the 5 pack figures, as it has a tendency to stress out the plastic their hands are made of and eventually even break them.
@@toypolloi There are a lot of legal LEGO alternatives which are equal or even better in quality, design and play value, they are more affordable and they are 100% compatible with LEGO. Most of the LEGO designs for bricks and other parts have expired years ago, they only have a handful of design copyrights left. LEGO is getting more and more expensive, but they also produce in China these days like other companies, so there is no difference any more.

Oddly enough, Teela's face looks much more like Carrie Fisher than most 4" Star Wars figures.
I think they look pretty good. I especially like how posable they are. Thanks Dave.
Wow, the detail in these minifigures is amazing

Wow. Really cool figures. There is a large castle greyskull by megaconstrux. This castle is huge ans awesome.
I like the Mega Construx MotU line. Great articulation and great details on those mini-figures. I'm very happy with all the ones I have purchased.
That battle damaged faker looks amazing. That's how he should always look!
I've been seeing these pop up at Ollie's for cheap. Might have to grab a couple now.
Great review! I’ve watched a video or two when these came out, but this video really makes it easier to see details and I enjoy the honesty too.

I didn’t know about the cats.
"Skeletor, which is by far my favorite"... Who would have thought...? :)

Thanks for the show and tell . 👍🖖
Not a big Motu collector- but those are really cute! -could be fun in my lego town! ;) Nice haul from Sam TP! :)
The figures are cheep I agree, but the vehicles and the mega contrux play sets are amazing!
It's great to see you playing with Lego and not mutilating them 😀
You didn't see what happened when I stopped filming 😲
They are really cool. I have to say that in most of the vehicles sets and the Castle Grayskull the figures have to be built.

There's quite a few available on Amazon currently.
I have some of these in my collection, they are pretty cool little figures.
You’re a legend! Great video!!
for the size I think they are pretty detailed!
They look great I hope to see them in UK shops, the T800 is awesome aswell. Great review Dave 🤘
Thanks 👍

For those in the UK you can find these on our local amazon

Sorry 🤣
I like the assembly/repair montages he does. I do wish he would provide a track list for the music he uses during the montages.
Most of the music is from UA-cam's royalty free archive. Anyone can access it. Cheers
@@toypolloi I'll go check that out now. Thank you very much

He Man is the best
I think you will find Skeletor is the best 🤣
I think that's Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed 2
From pound land ?
A Fakerinator!
The rubber pieces will disintegrate after a couple of years. As my tmnt did.
Yeah, it happens with lots of modern toys. The quality of plastic and rubber used is not great.

Lego actually ripped off Kiddicraft's "Self-locking building Bricks".
I didn't know that. I will have to had a read on that. Cheers

mega construx is way better than lego. i hate kego mini figures.
Hehe, kego.
