A lot of nostalgia for this Palitoys bright scenario about Baron and Action force group, I like a lot Baron, Z force ( a strange taste now since UA invasion ), and SAS of course ! Mills new owner of palitoys is who has kill the action force, always in my heart ! long life to them, thanks for sharing, take care Bro : )
@bilplaymo6121 Yes, they were nearly everyone's, poor old Q force and space force lol.
What happened with palitoy was very sad as they bought a lot of happiness to many people.
You, too, thank you for watching and your comment
What a great trip down memory lane! Thanks a million for this!
@@techshebeen thankyou . I am glad it brought back some memories for you. Thank you for watching and your comment
Great video! I remember when AF became Joe, but I never realised they came in AF packaging. My first Joe AF figures were the Cobra Trooper, Airtight and Bazooka, all of which came on the Hasbro packaging. I'm guessing the old AF figures would have been discounted for clearance at that time and so making the perfect gifts for my family to get me.
Thanks for the great history lesson 👍 😀
@Retrotoyguysi Thankyou, that would be around 1987????
Yes that's right , there was ALOT of stock leftover from palitoy, so to save pennies and help with product recognition they used them, then about a year later once everyone had got used to the change they went to the Action force you mentioned, good choice of figures also! 👍🏻 I am happy you enjoyed it, thankyou for your comment and for watching
Your videos are excellent routes back to my childhood and my love of all things Action Force. Thank you
@joecam5130 thankyou🙏 I am happy it's brought back some memories! And yes Action force was awesome
The real cause for the change was in the begining hasbro and palitoy had an agreement they would not sell their products in the others market....however when Alfred Pallet (founder and owner of Palitoy) died hasbro bought the company which gave them the rights to sell Gi Joe in the u.k. and europe.....to maintain brand recognition hasbro renamed it action force and changed the bios of a lot of characters (in Gi Joe they were all American but the A F versions were truly international) and as time would go by hasbro would change the name to "action force ,international heroes"....then rename it "Gi Joe the action force" and then simply "Gi Joe" dropping all pretence to the action force name /brand.
@Damien-u2x thank you for the info, yes you are right, i know about the history between the two, but I didn't go into too much detail to save time and just gave a very brief description, I have mentioned it in other videos. My plan is to work up to when the name changed to gi joe. Thank you for watching and your comment
@@Randomgijoecollector thank you for the video and the reply.👍👍👍
hi mate, i like your channel and love cobra! have a great weekend.
@Justin-l6z9n hey! Thank you, and who doesn't like cobra... Maybe Action Force! Have a great weekend yourself
@Randomgijoecollector lol, yeah I'm a huge collector of the gi joe 25th anniversary figures, cobras only.
@@Justin-l6z9n nice 👌
@Randomgijoecollector o yeah they also have the destro mask coming out soon too. I know you like destro.
@@Justin-l6z9n that's cool! Who from?
Zap and Short Fuze were used for Moondancer and Dolphin

Here in Cork Ireland , the new AF never turned up and the old Palitoy figures (SAS and Z force in particular with the shadows were on sale until the Autumn of 86...a few weeks before Action force ended in Battle , that Christmas I got the Roboskull ( still Have it) and the SAS Wolverine as my parents got them on stock clearance deals from the shops.
@sowhatdidithink4205 well I never knew that, thankyou for the info 👍🏻
There was alot on sale around that time , I was lucky as lived near the palitoy factory so like you had the pick of the crop that was left, Roboskull, command center etc. Thanyou for you comment it was very interesting 👍🏻
I remember a shop in North Main Street, think it was a small Dunnes, selling figures like Doc or Snow Job or Blowtorch (my brother and I personally had all of those three) on the Action Force style cards as shown here, before the rebranding to make the packaging more similar to G.I. Joe. Never knew that the version of Deep Six released here was from Cork, knew that the European Lady Jaye was from here. We did okay out of it to have two characters from Cork!
@@Harry75 yeah it was weird they made them both from Cork. I must have never got to that dunnes, but I do remember getting those figure packs that were packaged here that had all the excess figures when palitoy finally folded.
@@sowhatdidithink4205 I was more of a Transformers kid...even if larger figures than mini Autobots or combiner limbs were birthday or Christmas treats...but Action Force figures were affordable also on the odd trip to town so we amassed several. I do remember disappointingly never getting Snake Eyes or Storm Shadow, and I never even saw Cobra Commander.
@@Harry75 I started collecting the New Action force but I stopped after a year or so...not because I was getting older( I still have the Snowcat) they just weren't the same as to me the Original for Force Action Force and Red Shadows.
Another great video. Also worth mentioning that S.A.S Stalker and the Panther Jeep were Palitoy repaints which looked far better than the G.I Joe originals, especially the Panther with the yellow rollbar thingy.
@yaboym3247 yes they were I had the attack jeep, I was a big fan of sas force. Yes the colour scheme really worked with the black and yellow! Thanks as always for watching and your comments 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Randomgijoecollector btw, loved how you went through all the figures in this video and then went into the comic at the end. You are the king of Action Force videos on UA-cam 🤴
I got the Panther and Stalker for my birthday one year
@@derekmcmanus8615 Stalker looks so much better as a figure than Snake Eyes v1. A little bit of grey paint as contrast worked wonders on that figure.
@yaboym3247 thankyou!! man that's very high praise indeed, I just love Action force, it was a big part of my childhood. Thankyou and have a good day buddy 👍🏻
Zap and Short Fuse. Short Fuse was the first G.I joe figure I ever got.
Small correction: G.I. Joe was an afterschool cartoon. It was never aired on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. (Although it was made for syndication, so some local station might have aired on the weekend). I remember when the first 5-part series came out, it aired Monday through Friday in a single week. It seemed like a long time after that before the ongoing series started; but I was little, so it might have only been a few months.
Really interesting to see how they matched appearances with nationalities in the Action Man line. I'll have to find those comics and give them a read.
That's right 🌟🌟
As for the cartoon, I will go with what you say on that👍🏻when it was aired the u.k under the name of Action Force it was on a Saturday morning. I thought it was part of that whole Saturday morning cartoon thing, like He man and transformers! now I know! Thanks you for watching and your comment
@@Randomgijoecollector Ah, you might be surprised to learn that He-Man and Transformers weren't Saturday morning cartoons either. Neither was Thunder Cats or Voltron. I don't think any of the cartoons that were closely related to toy lines were. Saturday morning cartoons were developed by the big three TV networks (ABC, NBC & CBS) to compete with each other. There was this other ecosystem of syndicated cartoons that were bought by local stations across the country and usually played on weekday mornings and afternoons. And a subset of those were cartoons that toy companies had either pitched to animation studios, or just hired them outright to make. Although, I do remember Transformers being aired on Sunday mornings on a local station in my area when it first came out. Maybe because the first season didn't have enough episodes for a weekday rotation.
@taryntessrog7588 your joking!!! Well you definitely know your stuff, i know where to go next time i need the info lol! Thankyou 👍🏻 How strange, I suppose it had a lot to do with the fact over I the u.k we only had 3 channels BBC 1 BBC 2 and ITV, later being the only one to show cartoons from over seas like transformers and He man. I suppose it highlights the difference between the countries and the way they program stuff??? Thanks again for the comment 👍🏻
I remember what happened in 86 when palitoy closed down their action force stock ended up in discount stores I ended up buying 200 cobra officers for 59p each the following year we got action force international heroes
@georgeaitken2719 yes there were a lot of bargains to be had, I nabbed a few cobra troopers, but not that many lol! Thanks for watching and the comment
Have you ever done anything on Skeletron? I can't find anything really on him besides he is was a mail-away figure and orginally scheduled to come with the Red Shadow Skull figher thing. I am curious was he supposed to be a robot? A living skeleton? Or something else? Was he a troop builder or a one off? Thanks
@Chris23513 if you check out my all you wanted to know about Action force video, I give an explanation. yes your right there with your history, he was originally just a troop builder and was a robot. I hope that helps? Thanks for watching and your comment
Action Force was always a more hard-core and cooler title than "GI-JOE" was
@allenniumfalcon yes it was. The stories were also a lot grittier than the joes too
I remember how confusing it was when the story changed. I preferred it before.
@andrewgrant6516 as did quite a lot of people, Imagine how the fans of Action man felt, when they replaced him with Action force. And when the change happened, I still continued playing with both using them as one big Action force against cobra and the shadows just like in later issues of the comic. The writers were the same as before, it's when marvel took over that the style changed, but I will save that for another video. Thankyou for you comment and watching
At 9:54 they look like short fuse body with flash and grunt heads.
@mamunestor oooh close, you can have a 🌟it's shortfuse and zap all they did was paint them grey. Some of the original joes did look a bit samey, but they soon worked that out. thankyou for your comment
@@Randomgijoecollectorconsidering that zap and short fuse used the exact same body except the head. 🤷♂️ one had the grunt head the other had the flash head.
@mamunestor I think it was more the kit that they came with that sets them as zap and short fuse. as with the heads, I didn't know that. Thankyou
“Lift those lids!”
Did anyone else laugh when you said Snow Job 😄
