Not a lot depends on how much you use it and what you are cooling. Its pretty powerful. if you are looking for energy savings you probably want to look into the inverter style Danby one. Doesn't heat like this one can but it quieter and more efficient.
Please let me know if you ever found out how to connect it to wifi. I think its supposed to have an app or something too. I also got mine from costco! Thanks for the video
From what I read wifi was a joke and not easy to connect. many people find this to be an issue. I never even tried it out based on the reviews of the app. look up the app and youll see the complaints
Do you notice occasional drops of water coming from the draining side of the unit? I suspect that my unit is leaking water because some water is coming from the bottom when it should only be coming from the drain holes. It is a very miniscule amount so I may just ignore it.
It has dual vent hoses! Great! Do you know if Hisense has this as a straight cool AC unit? I don't need any heater on it. What model number is this one?
I’m not sure, but if you go through the comments, someone asked about model. Also Danby, I think that’s how it’s spelled has a straight cool unit that is quieter, with the same concept. I believe I mentioned it in the comments as well.
Bruuuuuuuuh I think I rounded my rooms square footage up and came up with 260 and I ended up going with a 10K BTU I guess. Did I get lucky and guess right?
Ok so from personal experience, this thing has cooled the whole front half off my house. Which is one room with a vaulted ceiling at least 11ft. So that’s at least 600sqftx11ft. It even kept the back half with all the rooms manageable. We brought another to put in the back but end up not using it, but I’m sure these two would’ve kept the house cool!
It’s pretty loud but in a quiet way. The fan level determines part of it. You don’t know it’s loud until you cut it off. We had an inverter system and it was much quieter. It was also significantly more plus it didn’t have heat function. The noise level is tolerable is what I can say. We also have 3 under five so we can handle noise..😂all boys..
Not true. If you use in in AC mode the machine with run correctly but then get to a point that it will not turn on and it gives a letter symbol on the temp readout. This means you must open the small plug opening in the back and drain the water.
@@trevizolga good to know. I’ve been running it regularly for a couple of weeks and have not had to empty it yet. Will be prepared to drain when it shuts down though!
The unit has a cool & dry mode. In cool, you never have to empty the unit because whatever little water that accumulates is cooling the internals of the AC. On dry mode, you'll have to connect a hose for drainage or empty it every 4-6 hours.
@@fixitcarter theres a video on the subject, basically theres a cool and hot side to an ac. The hot side is usually outside since thats the most efficient way of tranfering the warm air outside (the air the air conditioner blows is just the same air as in the room but without any heat energy) but in a portable air conditioner there is both hot and cool side in the house. portable acs also create a vacuum in the room your in, you cant take air out of a room without it trying to come back in, meaning the hot outside air seeps back in through the walls, they also take around twice as much electricity
@@enchanteddoritos I see on this unit it specified that it maintains a positive pressure. Not sure how that relates, Ill read the manual and see what I come up with. Thanks for the in-depth response. I am glad when a topic sparks education.
Getting one of these to heat/cool my camper build. Didn't realize costco had them. You just saved me 200 bucks sir. Thanks
Yes this thing will rock a camper! Thanks for checking out the content. Good luck on the build!

How did u do the filter?
@@lyrikah It didnt work well. if I had to do it again i would build a filter to fit the end of the hose.
Doesnt this have an inverter though?
I don’t believe so but correct me if I’m wrong.

Wi-Fi was easy to connect. Worked fine for. It has decent automations on the app.
Thanks for answering that, appreciate it!

Only when I move it around. Other than that its pretty dry.
How much energy does it consume?
Great question
600w-1kw

@@fixitcarter I did find it earlier as I scrolled through. Thanks for featuring this one! Dual vent hoses, yessss!
Thanks for checking it out, and this is by far a great value.
does this have to be vented to use the heat application?
Nope. But you will have to drain it like every couple hours. Or run the drain tube outside.
WRONG: an 8,000 BTU unit will only cool a 250 square feet area. Look it up.

Why when i use the heater only runs for a couple hours then makes me dump the water but with ac it can run all day long for weeks?
Condensation, when heat meets cool air.
@@fixitcarter thanks
Good luck, you can run a longer drain hose. That’s the next Best option.
Does it have a drain bucket?
Externally No. Internally it has a drain pan.
How much did it cost?
caught it in sale for like 300
How is the noise level? Do I have to turn up the volume when watching TV?

110 or 220 plug?
It’s 115v I believe not sure what plug it has.
Wheres your drain line?
At the bottom back. There a twist off plug. There two it’s the one at the bottom.
can you mention the model number pls?
I’ll get that to you today.

Do you ever have to drain water from this unit?
Only when you use it in heat mode and you can run a drain hose to drain it outside so you won’t have to keep manually draining it

Haven’t had it have to be drained in Cool mode, but maybe possible. Maybe in a couple more weeks. But In heat mode, atleast every 2 hours

@@fixitcarter just look into it, theres nothing worng with a pirtable ac, its just that window units are better 👍
You can't heat with a window ac
