*So amazingly quiet and **Fastly.Cool** in my room! 42db is at a whisper level. I bought 2 and installed myself.Very sturdy bracket and easy to adjust to fit windows of different size. Absolutely fabulous units!!*
I had this in my bedroom for about a year and it did exceptional when keeping my room cool through the southern heat. It works best in a small room because the air had a strong current, but not enough range.
I just installed the 18,000 BTU unit today. The face plate only had two screws, no provisions for 4. If your video hadn't shown the guy pop the side of the case with his fist, I might still be trying to figure it out. All in and working now, but in the fall, I wonder how I will get that face plate off, as there is no access to pop the case with your fist when the thing is actually in the window.
My model is very similar to this and the instructions say to unscrew the 4 screws for the front panel, but the entire case with the grill doesn't come off
Whatever happened to the two screws that you remove from the cabinet that secures the AC unit inside of it? You cover those holes with the top side-curtain rail. Is the unit NOT supposed to be actually attached to the cabinet?
Correct!! I know this was posted a year ago, but I just purchased the 15,000 btu unit for the garage today, and wondered the same thing. Because the unit is so heavy, and it should be tilted back, you do not need those two screws. Their would be no way of screwing them back in anyways, as the window covers up the access point. Also, with my install, I did not use the support brackets. I installed two screws each side into 2x4's, negating the need for any supports. The install that you do, will decide what kind of hardware you will need.
I have the 18000 unit and it’s nothing like this and the steps to install are way different. So this guide does not help with the range of machines you claim.
It is much easier to take it apart. the main unit slides right out allowing you to set up the frame in your window with lot's of access. Once your shell is set up you just slide the main unit back in and put the screws back on. If you cannot reach the back of the unit at least you can put the two sides screws on.
Nobody installs a window unit like this! Nobody takes there’s out of the chassis to install when it can just be lifted and installed in a window. Only through the wall units are installed this way.
Is it possible to take a horizontal air conditioner and turn it vertical? The window in my apartment doesn't open all the way like my old apartment did.
My Lg 12,000 BTU air conditioner did not have a bottom rail for the curtain panels to slide into, only two little plastic clips that barley stay in place. I sell these units at "The Home Depot" and now don't want to endorse this product to anyone. Cheep is just poor construction and a recipe for things to break and go wrong...Buyers beware!
So my frigidaire is making a weird like jam motor noise idk how to exlplain it but sounds like its breaking or burning out idk what it is the people that own my apartments and complex dont even know what to do and im like wtf do they have in the apartment rooms than idk if anyone knows what it is lmk and tell me what i need to do

Sars Brooks do you have a clue? A sleeved unit mounts completely different than a small non sleeved unit. Fuck kid know what you are talking about before you try and troll.
@@Executiveinvestments- Serious questions: I have an old (1989) unit through the wall in a sleeve. I was told that i could save money and get a window unit vs. thru the wall since my sleeve is vented on all sides (wall is only 8 inches thick). First, the old unit doesn't want to slide out. It's super tight in there, as if the hole was custom made. Second, I thought that once I took it out, if the new unit was smaller (which it is), I could just put it in the sleeve without having to remove anything, as opposed to removing it from its case as shown here. If it fits entirely, will that not work? I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks!!

Very helpful for parts that I struggled with, but does the audio come and go for everyone else or is it just my phone?
its like that for all

How'd you pop the face plate off? I removed the four screws and can't get it off. Am I suppose to use a cutting torch or something?
Do the sill brackets need to be fastened to the side of my house?
The instructions never told me to hit the sides to take that joint off at @1:39
Y’all are better than GE
That is the exact reason I needed this vid the instructions were so unclear at that step
"After Removing the screws, "GENTELY" Pull the faceplate from the Air Conditioner Cabinet. "Proceeds to hit cabinet with brute force"
Ah, the tactical thump. That was the step I was missing. Thank you.
I see you too came here to the learn the hidden secret of faceplate removal. Tactical thump worked!

Why is it that most of the portable ac only shows this type of window! How about the slider window.
Agree. Me too
Excelent video ! Thanks a lot
Great job. Right way
Great video...was very helpful.....
Now all I need is to spend a few thousand dollars and replace my old casement windows.

Agreed...just got mine and the screws for the top bracket are too short...
Can I install a through the wall ac unit in my living room with the garage on the otherside?
video was so good I didn't even need the sound, wish it still did have sound tho
The sound to the video is not good. But, I did learn a few things how to installed the A/C unit.
What's another name for the mounting rail. I need some of these for two of my units but have yet to find the answer?
Ermano mi consulta es si los aires de bentana funcionan en energía 110 o 220
Existen ambos 110v 220v
Wth. Why did you take it out of the shell.?? You know you can buy a shell for $40 .
I can't seem to find my Phippips head screwdriver.
Pro Tip: Go to the Furthest Hardware store to you. You will not be able to open the Screw Driver without a Philips Head Screw Driver. Repeat.
There's no way I'm going to disassemble my new air conditioner. What's the next option?
It's a sleeve ac that is the option

No you can not!! The ac must be horizontal to function..
Buy a small unit
hacia tiempo no usa la unidad prendio la primera vez luego quiere prender un lg 12
How do for a horizontal slide window? And will your case fit exactly into all white double pane window tracks? Mine's about 1" opening
Why is the top of case vented it seems to me more stuff to get in.
Ditch the Disgusting music,Supposed to be a instructional video not a Concert.
Where can I buy a Phippips Scewdriver? Link?
Cuando el aire esta tirando hielo ake se debe eso
Ok so can anyone answer this I see foam in the too vents is it supposed to be there?
yes

thanks for the caution
My gigantic unit has zero in the box apart from some foam. No brackets curtains mounting rail nothing!!

i usually just throw the whole thing in the window..no unscrewing of anything lol.
this is not a normal window AC unit. Its a sleeved unit that large AC's have and you need to mount it to the bottom of the window sill.

M Garcia yes it will work but you might have a sealing issue from the inside.
Omg sooo helpful
The audio is absolutely not awesome
I just did mine. 14,000 btu unit. I’m tired after that lol
I can’t believe you’d invest so much time making this video and not go back in the editing process and fix the voice over.
Where can I buy the red handled screwdriver that you're using in the video?
What new gun laws 2020 for tn.
I've searched and searched, but I can't find a Phippips head screwdriver anywhere!!!
It's the same with me. When I need a phillips screwdriver all I find is flat head screwdrivers and visa versa in my tool box...grrrr
I keep mine on my keychain. I got it when I bought my vehicle. It starts my vehicle as well. Versatile...
@@jgstargazer the joke was they misspelled Phillips in the vid
Woosh
Very helpful
I'll need a Phippips screwdriver...? Lol
Even still Soleus Air is awesome! I have three ac units and one dehumidifier. Omg!!!
How do you clean it
I can't hear anything
What in the world is a phippips head lol.
Does the AC has to be out the window or can you use it without being in the window?
It has to be in a window, cause the part of the unit that faces out produces heat and will defeat the purpose of the unit itself... 😁😁😁
Omg such idiots
Just put it on the ground an plug it in, works great
Wow 24000btu.
no sound
nice
I'm building my own
Zach Mcewen yeah right
Which Company in this AC please reply me as soon as possible Thanks
Unnecessary work
stupid design, most are sliding widows, side to side.
