As one of Destiny's viewers, to give context to Graham and Jack's listeners who hear the 45% editor cut thing, Steve's initial theory of "well if I pay the editor well, he'll be super invested in making the channel better" has absolutely paid off. Most of the comments on a lot of the videos are "holy shit August is an actual god" because the level of effort he puts in is insane. If Steve is debating someone and they say "you never do [x] when we talk" and Steve says "yes I do, I do it all the time", August will go and sift through archived conversations, organise and arrange evidence as though he's a lawyer, then weave into the video examples to back up what Steven is saying and illustrate the point. It's an incredible level of attention to detail and their partnership is 100% a huge part of the success.

I would guess that August has a rather detailed organizational structure when it comes to being Destiny's editor. There's just absolutely no other way that his editing can be so good, in any timely manner. I would love to see how he does it. My guess is that for literally every upload, he probably writes a detailed description of the content inside so that he can do a search later if he ever needs any of those clips.
But you're absolutely right. A 45% cut is pretty big, but it has shown to be working because the editing on his videos are truly really good.

    • @LovesGrilling
      @LovesGrilling 8 місяців тому +1

The supervisor was not wrong. If the process is not built with automation in mind, it will fail due to human error. Example: The file feed from upstream looks like its in the same format, but one day Billy from the upstream team has too little coffee and (since the file is created manually) changes something about the format. Front end team doesnt realize this, does their calculations, reports their numbers, and boom leadership thinks we made 6 billion dollars in the last 18 minutes, and there are 69420 hours in a day.
Or, more likely -- the end user -- a restaurant worker who is not versed in Excel, just does something wrong.
It isn't "automating a process, look, so easy". Its "Train all your people to use excel as the front end, and make sure your backend is automated and will not change."
Much easier to have a restaurant worker use a calculator. Not saying restaurant workers are dumb. I am saying that they are not data analysts.

I had watched a video about machine learning explaining how ML ID's objects and to explain it to a coworker explained how closely it matches with how I have found that words to not point to definitions. They point to ven diagrams. To illustrate the point, I used chairs. What is a chair? Or a bench? 3 legs? 4? Does it have a back? Arm rests? Ultimately, we just have a collection of axis (plural) and if enough of them fall far enough to one direction, our brain says, "chair". There are no actual truly explicit definitions. It's more like a critical mass off similarities and we decide, "Yes. This is X"

If you want someone who is able to articulate a centre-left point of view (I wouldn't go as far as to say he's far left) that resonates with milennials, this guy is who you listen to. Everyone on the right should listen to him so that they can better understand exactly where people in the opposition are coming from. The more we know about them, and the less they care to find out about us, the better the outcome will be down the line when things get ugly and we have to find some way to reconcile. Whoever knows more about the other, will be the one leading the reconciliation effort. Don't forget that!!

@@thetechguychannel "I really find some of his own choices despicable..."
A nice thing about how he engages in debates and when giving advice is that he never advocates for his lifestyle, but instead, that everyone should be allowed to live their OWN lifestyle.
      For example:
Someone like Sneako advocates for a one-way open-relationship and takes it a step further by saying that all men want that and society would be better if this is how people "dated." Destiny would argue that while HE enjoys open relationships, everyone should be free to date how they like to, if Sneako's best shot at a healthy relationship with a girl he likes is a one-way open-relationship then he should be fine to pursue it. If a couple consent to a particular dating style (monogamous, poly, etc) then they should be free to pursue it.
Speaking of Sneako, he also advocates that people SHOULD be muslim. While Destiny isn't religious, he doesn't advocate that others SHOULD be atheist. If someone gets something out of religion, that's great! There's lots of community building inside different religious groups, you might find a loved one from church, you might find a cool new friend at church, who knows.

@@AGirlNamedVan NO HE DOES NOT but PRETENDS HE DOES! lmfao. He will change LITTLE to NOTHING ESPECIALLY with black people. HE ACTUALLY SAID IF KYLE RITTENHOUSE WAS BLACK, he would have WALKED, not as in gotten off in court, but no, as in LITERALLY NOT even have been TRIALED, just let go.
*At the same time you MIGHT be one of his Divestor Racist black women lol. But he edited out his Citi Bike Karen RACIST meltdown telling an old black women to Go back to Africa, Paused and said he "Can't even say it because AFRICANS HATE you African Americans." And said the idea of white women weaponizing their tears to endanger black ppl has only happened ONCE in 2020, maybe 2021 and then Emmet Till.... ACTUAL LYING ass clown shit lmfao. That is not calling out exaggerations of issues which would be good, he just up and shuts down ANY shred of black injustice unless HE wants to use it or mention it, then he's not fighting against it existing or lying about others position pretending they think it's evvvvvvvvvvveeeerrrrryywhere and black ppl can do NOTHING ever. 🤣 Bro, even the MOST 'Racism everywhere" black person or WOKE he calls em, does NOT end that message in the right wing made up anti black narrative of "lay down, we are defeated we can't do anything." That betrays an understating of black people historically and NOW. It's a lazy way to victim blame and say ALL or MOST issues are really just black ppl CHOOSING their conditions and abject poverty, no systemic anything or residue from systemic issues of the "past" jumping just to slavery and ignoring ALL else after because it's literally our parents and grandparents time THUS not some irrelevant long ago distant thing with NO after effects.
He then framed AP capitalizing "Black" and not white, framed it as they are doing it for BLACK people, but NOT white people doing his weekly "Blacks have SPECIAL treatment and above ALL other minorities" yet that is NOT what a ARTICLE deciding to do such means. He said "I forgot we capitalize BLACK and not white like they're JESUS or some shit." But let me ask, do you think he pulled that out his ass or READ it thus KNOWS WHY it is done to even draw attention to it and LITERALLY REFERENCED the Associated Press change showing he has read it 1. 2. Do you think their stated reason was "Because, they're like fucking JESUS or some shit" 🫠. So he KNOWS why, KNOWS better, and framed it as "Blacks getting over on whites" in a long again, PRIVATED video triggered a black women didn't like the fact Central Park Karen lived in her complex and said 'This is the America we live in" mind you that occurred the SAME day as Floyd. He did the "you say America is racist, then go back to Africa" get it, she's BLACK... So funny... so edgy he will call it vs the racist shit it is. HE even BANNED a person from his sub reddit for saying that shit was too far and out of pocket and how wasn't she just a victim of media lies but NOPE, how dare she mention racism towards black people. Again, I shit you not, all she said was "this is the America we live in" and the issue of people lying on black people, especially white women. She did not overstate shit, exaggerate shit and he mentioned how she's BITCHING because how old she is THUS she likely experienced "ReAl rAcISuM" aka she can NOT complain about anything lesser than that, and that time period evidently.. (Which was NOT the case in that story at ALL btw and he didn't watch the OG video I believe at all and spent like 10 minutes LOADING IT with how the black bird guy is the WRONG one and he started it all and that women did NOTHING WRONG but be WHITE and call the cops on a black man" 🤣
He watched a video of a person getting hounded about not presenting their receipt, watched it all then looked at how many retweets the video had, didnt even check if he was linked the initial source or other places it may be and STALLED STREAM TO GO BACK saying "I know why" SEARCHING FOR THE SKIN TONE OF THEIR HAND or anything that may come in frame to say "it's because they're white" 😐
Even now he's getting asked why people think he's racist and he runs to "The blacks play the race card" 🤣 Bro got into it with black teenagers HE started with, I guess Kai is 21 and generalized black ZOOMER streamers he doesnt even know exist and the TWO anecdotes he used he didn't know the difference between the two... Just making up shit and ignored the generalization of which was the issue of black teenagers and SWEARS THEY, not HIM played the race card as he is the ONE That mentioned RACE FIRST UNPROMPTED other than the chip on his shoulder about black people. Then they logically respond and "they are attacking him because he is WHITE and they are black men and black men play the race card" Bro said "legion" and acts like that is some racist word or some shit apparently and ppl are reaching when NO ONE is saying that, the use of legion shows he is again GENERALIZING black zoomers, (bro is 34!) and not their content like he pretends because again TWO black streamers. So he made it about race, people respond and he does the "well you know the blacks and the race card" playing the race card with that shit, and initially when he made the comment. The "loud, Black" didnt help either but he said anyone thinking that clip was racist because the stereotype "used in the past sometimes to black people" (yes he LEGIT said that shit like that's some OLD attack or out of date) is completely retarded, wrong, and REACHING playing the race card.. And note, I KNOW he did not do the "blacks are loud" but to even PRETEND that is NOT a obvious take away and NOT a reach is WILD and framed him coming correct then about it as "Cucking to the blacks"🤣
*Go watch his disgusting reaction the that Black Women getting her wig snatched off and see how he responds because she's BLACK! Again he doesnt give a F* about black women either but created that illusion by being racist with racist divestors vs getting normal black women to speak on inner community issues he was CLOUT chasing off of, I shit you not saying he won't air out other races dirty laundry because "they don't fight as much" and their communities arent BLOWING UP RIGHT NOW! Lmfao... CLOWN SHIT. HE even said WE don't talk about the gender in- fighting, more "the blacks are backwards" bullshit.

So in Ukraine we had the same problems as in California, but after the 2014 Revolution of Dignity our anti-corruption activists developed a new public electronic procurement system called Prozorro (play on the Ukrainian word “transparent”) where state and municipal customers publicize tenders to purchase goods, works and services, and business representatives compete for the opportunity to become a state supplier. From 2016 the Prozorro system is mandatory for central authorities, monopolists and all of the government customers. Though there are attempts to circumvent it, this system works great to hold authorities accountable.

"Jordan Peterson is very smart and insightful when he talks about psychology and he's very stupid when he talks about anything besides psychology." How arrogant do you need to be to say that? (It's rethorical!)

I worked at a coffee shop near my home town for a year and a half, and ended up moving to a new location, where i spent 8 months at. what destiny was describing at his casino job, i went through the exact same situation. I was a shift leader at both of my locations, and i felt as if i was one of, if not the strongest lead we had at the time. i always went above and beyond what was asked of me, but at the time we had employees that were lacking in motivation, and no matter how many times i had requested for them to do their tasks, i ended up having to do their jobs as well. after two months of tiring myself out, i finally realized that the only option was to talk to my bosses boss. neither the manager, or the owner had even reached out the employees to help correct them and get them back on track. all of the sudden, i begun receiving write ups, heated talks about missed items off of our checklist, and even texts and calls on my days off schedule claiming i wasn't doing my job correctly. despite all of that, i got suspended, and after a week i stayed even longer for another month. why i stayed is beyond me, but i did. eventually i got tired of the solicitous calls on my days off and quit. since then, their reviews online have tanked. the ship is sinking, and i couldn't be happier.

I noticed that in a lot of companies, managerial roles are 10% about competency and 90% about politics, bureaucracy, and desperately hanging onto your power.

Served in the military. Got out. Worked in the government all of my siblings as well as my father did the same
The way contracts work when dealing with the government is whatever budget they give you. You make the project cost that. Now sometimes the reason you get really really shitty. Things that are really really expensive cost is because everyone that wants the contract tries to underbid their competition
Keep in mind this doesn't apply. If the contracting company has an in for connection that they can use to be guaranteed the contract

Right out of high school I worked retail at a knife store we sold a ton of kitchen knives and accessories including a knife block. This one customer decided to start a 10-minute back and forth about how the crate & barrel down the street sold the same knife block for almost half the price. After ignoring all of the things that I said, including theirs is pine ours is bamboo, the conversation came to an abrupt ending when I said , I don't know WTF you're still doing here wasting mine and your time when you could be buying the knife block from crate & barrel.... That was very close to my last day.

Describing Destiny as the anti-Ben Shapiro is so accurate.

It depends on which part of Ben Shapiro you are the Anti or. Conservative I might give it to him, but Destiny can't out talk Shapiro, though he might overtalk Shapiro. Frankly, Destiny isn't as logical as Ben, so in that case it is the logic part that is anti, except every now and then Destiny has a take that is logical and then surprisingly he falls much closer to Shapiro's view than to, say, Cenk.
Affirmative Action, for example, his view is closer to Shapiro's.
Also, I don't think Destiny is on the same level as Shapiro in terms of morality and working toward living his principles. Shapiro seems to be living his in a very public manner.
I guess I question whether this description is at all meaningful rather than a vastly gross oversimplification.

Lol, it's not even close to being accurate. Destiny is a liberal sure, but he's got a lot of intrinsic right wing viewpoints he can't seem to shake. He's even a fan of Ben Shapiro lol.

@@NdxtremeProol, Ben Shapiro dunks on college kids for a living. If Piers Morgan can out talk Shapiro, trust me, so can Destiny. Ben Shapiro is also an Orthodox Jew, his faith alone prevents him from being logical when it comes to certain issues because he has to tow the religious line.

Loved this interview, especially for how balanced it is. Clearly there are disagreements, but the interviewers only had questions to prompt more insight rather than judgements or claims.

Idk why anyone listens to Destiny, he lives in Cali, has complained about how expensive it is to live there, how high the taxes are and how much they take of his income, how overall the quality of life is in Cali is terrible, but then continues to vote for the same people who push for the policies he hates and complains about.

He complains about how California uses those taxes but supports higher taxes on the more wealthy because it’s more beneficial to social programs for poorer people that is why.
