Great video guys! The SM500 has been an absolutely amazing route for us. It's pretty much in our back yard and N Georgia/Tenn has become a favorite spot of ours for two wheels and camping. I've owned a dual sport for over 20 years, and have ridden it more in the last 2 than all the others combined. Something about making sure that front wheel is pointed where you want it makes us forget the world. It's been great fun riding and documenting this route. I've done 95% of it on a CT125 and it's been a great time! Very well put together video guys, bravo!
I've ridden the 500 a few times. I would think those stock tanks on the XR's would be a pain in the but with some of the stretches on the route. One of the KTM's in our group took in water on that slick rock Witty rd crossing. Spent the next morning flushing the oil several times. We always stay at the Iron Horse since it is the starting point for us and they let us store our trucks and trailers for a few days. The yellow section is my favorite. It never fails that we always see something outrageous along the route,..so many stories to tell. Thanks for sharing the video. I always enjoy watching bikes go through Witty rd.
Great video. 6 of of are planning on taking the SM500 in April, 2023. Did you use a go-pro? Helmet mount? I would like to make a video of our trip. What editing program did you use? Thanks in advance for any advice and information.
