    Just when I thought that I only had one more thing to learn with a dump truck, I find out that it's two more things I have to learn. That would be snow plow and now this spreading gravel situation lol!
    I like how he has the chains to keep that tailgate from opening too much. The first guy I seen do this on YT didn't have chains, and still did an awesome job, and he did it going in reverse.

    GOOD TO SEE, men working TOGETHER, of different ' colors ! ' Oh, an item of interest for you; #lazypondFarm. Maybe get some old railroad ties, and put a row on each side, of the driveway. This, will make a wonderfull, border between the grass and the access road. Bury them about 2 inches into the earth; and maybe even paint them, white. This will be a good visible, sight at night when headlights shine. TAKE CARE......! That driver, obviously has alotta experience, gauging the load size /distance / depth of spread with speed required.

  • @chuxtuff
    @chuxtuff Рік тому +1

    Believe it or not, that is something not all gravel hack drivers can do. It's all in setting your chains tight as the weight of the gravel will open your tailgate farther than you think. Set them too loose and you'll make a mess. Too tight and not enough gravel will come out. Also you have to do it (open the tailgate) while the truck is moving so as to not make a pile. As I worked for a large municipality's road department we spread a lot of gravel in narrow city alleys where you also had to watch for overhead hazards like phone and electrical wires. So it looks easy and for a good driver worth his salt it is easy...as long as you keep your mind on what you're doing and what can happen if you don't. Safety first...
