As a Santos fan, I'd like to point out that football in Brazil is different from England in that there's not much of a disparity between top teams and the rest. Santos, for example, has just won the second division and are back in the Série A, which will start around March/April. If Neymar actually returns to Santos, the amount of marketing revenue he would bring, allied to the fact that many players would feel attracted to play alongside him, means Santos could become a very competitive team in no time. Smaller examples have recently happened: when Luis Suárez joined Gremio, they were also recently promoted from Série B, and in the only season he's played there, Gremio finished runners-up. This year, without him, Gremio finished 14th. Another example is that of Memphis Depay, who joined Corinthians mid-season when they were 18th and they finished 7th (with a Libertadores spot). When players go to PSG I feel almost as if they've gone to the MLS. I know it isn't the same thing because they're still in the CL & Ligue 1 probably isn't that bad, but in my mind they may as well be across an ocean playing meaningless matches against Seppos. In my head they're as good as retired & I tend to forget they exist outside of CL nights.
Brazilian superstars careers always fizzle out by the end. My theory is many of them came from poor background thus the money and status got to them. Kaka was from a rich family and he didn't go insane.
I'm speaking here as a Neymar fan. With Neymar right now, his situation is very slim and I'm not going to lie, a small part of me (big part) believes in him to go to barca or another European team. I don't understand people that says Neymar's best years were at Barca. In terms of trophies, yes that was arguably his best. But playing football, PSG was out of this world, yes his injuries affected him very much so but what he did at PSG was just wonders. He even took PSG to their first finals. Yes i understand Neymar wasn't in his best condition but pls don't say that Neymar failed at PSG. Brazil, 2026 World Cup with Neymar.
The thing about Neymar is that he's had a better career than 90% of professionals can even dream of. What makes it so frustrating is that you just know he was capable of more, but injuries and money ruined him. Yes, he achieved great things, but its what he COULD'VE achieved is what makes us as football fans sad. Personally, i dont even know if I should call his career a success or not. What do you guys think? Maybe in his eyes it is
His career was a failure. After they won ucl with Suarez and Messi. Ronaldo started dominating and Neymar went to Paris and gave up… he was like 26 at the time and moved away from arguably the biggest club in the world to Qatar owned Paris for money… he’s a disgrace
Don't get it wrong. As a local Miamian and long time soccer fan.. it would be cool. The Messi effect has been fun. However, I'm ready for tickets to come back down to regular prices. Soccer used to be affordable to watch around here lol. A Neymar transfer would be another full year of two of inflated tickets haha
Its sad because his body is breaking dowm after being at such a high level for so long and it shows that the biggest and brightest careers can be brought to a sudden hault due to injury
If he does go to Miami then that would point when it becomes a proper joke of a club, though that probably happened when Mascherano became manager. Messi Vibe Team FC
A number 10 Neymar serving wingers like Vinicius, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Savinho, Estevão, and Shola is sheer insanity. To be honest, I'm not sure he will make it to the World Cup, but if he does, we're gonna see some history.
ney career is 99% a success compared to most footballers unfortunately from such a young age was put in comparison that was justified to the pele’s,messi’s and ronaldo’s. it’s such a disappointment to the publics eyes which it’s disappointing because his name is gonna be forgotten eventually because he hasn’t been available for the last couple of years. it’s sad, it’s disappointing because he was the last of a dying generation of footballers that played like a brazilians before they over complicated themselves. Ney was truly special manage to win the libertadores with santos after 40 plus year since the time of pele, managed to get top 10 in balon dor from south america. it’s crazy that he was in the perfect situations too soon in his career with barca and forced his way out because those first 3 seasons at psg where neymar was truly one of the best football on his day were magical not to say he wasn’t regardless but had ney stayed with barca i’m convinced that it would’ve worked. it terrible that brazil had their worst possible national team during neymars career forcing him to overload himself carrying a terrible team and seeing vini, rodrygo or even coutinho not being able to help or even be a difference maker to some sort of extent it feels like football has failed ney
Neymar could've been up there with Messi and Ronaldo in terms of stats and success. Especially if he had stayed at Barcelona, his goal and assist tally are crazy for club and country. He undoubtedly would've won more champions leagues and titles if he had stayed at barca.
The rumors here in Brazil are that there are plans for him to return to Santos in an a deal which would included essentially ownership of the club which is tragic as it shows just how decadent our clubs have become.
@ I’m one of the rare few Brazilians who dislike Neymar. I was raised abroad so I never really felt any sort of way towards Brazilian football but I am back here in Brazil and trying to really get into the grassroots of the game but I’ve always been a bit of a lover and historian of the beautiful game and it breaks my heart to see how our domestic game has been cooped by corruption and greed to the sorry state it is now. I support Barcelona since I was a little kid since I was mostly raised in the US and MLS was never interesting enough to care about and with LaLiga being the big league to follow there due in large part to the massive Latin American presence, I begin following Barcelona due to the many great Brazilians who played there going back to Romário when I was a kid. By the time Barça brought Neymar on, the hype was real and while I am not privy to details, apparently his father is basically living vicariously through Neymar Jr. and was the chief person behind his move away from Barça and to PSG. And while I dislike him since Santos due to a lot of things he said like when they played away for the Brazilian Cup in the Northeast and he and his posse said the players of the club they were playing away to made salaries equal to the cost of his dog’s food, and being myself from the North region which along with the Northeast is the poorest portion of Brazil and largely discriminated against, I took issue with it and simply couldn’t like the guy after that. If I told you he isn’t a great footballer, I’d be lying and I’m glad he helped the club I support to win a Champions League BUT he’s a terrible human, not unlike Dani Alves, I guess, and while everyone makes mistakes, as an outsider, I can’t help but shake the feeling that post Barcelona, he basically derailed himself from realizing his potential and all for the sake of being the main man, which is idiotic to say the least since Ballon D’Ors aren’t one singlehandedly. And then there is the prospect of ownership of Santos which because of Pelé and history makes one really bummed since it could spell the utter fall of the club from Grace. Running a footballing institution is complex and while his namesake might help leverage bringing in the right people, his and his father’s decision making is questionable considering their history what with the Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Barcelona saga to get him to Europe and then the PSG and recent history… unlike Ronaldo who made the shift from player to executive and has since began his own bid to become CBF president, Neymar hasn’t done much of either in the time since and is today little more than a social media personality, it’s hard to even call him a footballer anymore. And it goes without saying that there are still tens of millions in Brazil who think he is the man to lead Brazil in 2026 while we have Raphinha arguably playing the best football in the world today, Vini just off winning the FIFA player of the year award, and the absolutely lack of foresight by the FA and supporters to see the issue isn’t the players but how the FA handles the national team which if you really want a rabbit hole, I highly recommend you follow it through to its bottomless pits of corruption and how in less than a few cycles post winning the World Cup in 2002, the powers that be have essentially insured we never threaten winning the World Cup again by the way the side is run… But I’m mostly rambling now, sorry. At any rate, I’m not his agent so I won’t be telling him how to run his career but if he asked me, my only counter question would be: do you want to keep playing or no? If yes, then come to Flamengo or a Botafogo since if he returned to Palmeiras which is probably the best side for him, Santos would disown him and he’d actually be in serious risk of physical harm if not worse. If he doesn’t want to keep playing, then do you want to remain in football? If so, either take the long route into the boardroom the likes of R9 did or retire and go into ambassadorial roles as any of the clubs he has played for would love to have him. But going straight into Santos às a player to then become its owner? I’m no mathematician but going back to his and his father’s history of decision making, I think Santos would immediately go back down and from there, it’s hard to predict where the club would end up but as the financial cost of running a giant in the lower divisions mount and pressure builds, they’d likely scrap the project to save face and with that the Santos of Pelé would become just another minor player domestically and even within the state league. And while I am a meritocrat, it still bugs me that the club of our most historically important player isn’t playing some role in the domestic game, even if just supporting. Now, mind you, my local club from my home state isn’t even in the leagues, we played in the Fourth Division last year but did poorly enough to be booted from it and since we failed to win the State League again, we’re lucky to even be in the Domestic Cup, but my hometown is tiny and Águia, my club, was founded in 1982 and refounded in 1999, and we certainly never spawned World Cup winners, lol. Santos in the other hand? It would be akin to Wayne Rooney going back to United as a player in a deal to buy an Manchester United. It would be terrible for both.
Loved the video, but you kinda disrespected the brazilian league. It's the hardest league outside of europe and the Ronaldinho example for once was way off. He played not for one, but two brazilian clubs (flamengo and atletico mineiro) before going to mexico. And although the MLS has more resources when it comes to money it still is very much behind the Brasileirão when it comes to talent and fanbase. That being said, keep up the good work. Been a fan since your FIFA days.
I like Neymar, but sadly, I think the best he can do, is to just retire, and maybe take a coaching license if he still love the pitch His injuries already ruined him permanently, and everyone knew that. And he should already knew that his playstyle will force people to foul him. Nobody from the opposing team would want a jogo bonito as their opponent, so no matter what league he's playing, they gonna foul him, and they gonna make sure it hurt his already paper thin legs to get themselves some advantages. He can dive like usual to avoid it, sure, but how long can he keep diving?
Great analysis! But I wonder if Neymar will be able to adapt to MLS as quickly as Messi? It seems like the level of play there is completely different. I recently made a video on this topic, I’d love your opinion!
Man has made more money than most other players in the business and he is not even 35. He did everything right so far. Now he has to find something that fulfills him for the rest of his life. That is what so many footballers fail at. Especially if they are from Brazil.
He knew he was riddled with injuries, and he knew it was going to get worse. That's why he moved to Saudi. I don't think that should take away from his legacy
back to the question...next step for Neymar: final small bag for Inter Messi on a TAM deal, to reunite MSN, where he won't play very much, and then retirement, who would have thought he'd have less of an impact on football than Kaká, who ended his career in MLS...
Neymar to Miami will never happen. Because MLS is a salary cap league, teams can only spend so much money. There are 3 players that don't apply to this called DPs. Miami has used all 3 of their DP slots. And Beckham (i think, please fact check me) said that Inter Miami doesn't have the money for Neymar
Considering nobody watches the league, Neymar being injured is actually a success for the Saudis because it gives them exposure they would otherwise never have. This video being proof of that. The money is not a concern for them.
At this point, I want his carreer to be over, 'cause brazilian media might finally accept he won't be able to help us in 2026. He's no longer able to play at a WC winning level, and expecting him to do it is unfair with Neymar.
he could just retire if he has injury problems, i mean tbf his carrer was already over when he decided to join Al hilal in his early 30’s…i mean Salah is the same age, still banging goals in Premier league…
@ was I talking about Brazil? No. Oh and what happened in 2022? They failed him. What happened in 2018? They fell apart. What happened in 2014? They couldn’t perform without their star man.
4:17 the Saudi fanbase is almost entirely split up between the big 4 teams, no other team has anywhere near that, they don't have the culture of supporting the team nextdoor

Yeah but also goes from well they decide to play all those matches in anycase. Yeah you cant say I wont play but well thinking of implications and ur body strain for longevit doesnt cross ur mind.
Kaka was from a rich family and he didn't go insane.
exactly man, when u come from poverty from nothing, you will always want more

As Brazilians, almost all of us make the joke that Neymar is a former player for at least 3 years, now he is just an influencer
AYyyy Booyy!!! Where is that South Africa flag though? gottta have it behind you next video my boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its sad to think what could have been with Neymar.
The best constantly injured player of all time!
Best description of him
It would be awesome to have Neymar in the MLS. But not in Miami that would be too boring. But the most likely scenario if he were to come.
I think its time for Neymar to follow his true passion. Streaming CS on Twitch
Fan from Saudi. Hate seeing him injured all the time. Don’t support alhilal but support barca. Hate to see him out all this time
Crazy for how much injured n they numbers still
If he does go to Miami then that would point when it becomes a proper joke of a club, though that probably happened when Mascherano became manager. Messi Vibe Team FC
Injuries happen. Thankful how he played; can’t regret what’s outside your control
Just imagine Neymar ending his career winning the World Cup 🙏🏿
😂😂😂😂😂😂 He won't play a minute as he will be injured
He needs to actually get in the squad first
A number 10 Neymar serving wingers like Vinicius, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Savinho, Estevão, and Shola is sheer insanity. To be honest, I'm not sure he will make it to the World Cup, but if he does, we're gonna see some history.
@@Phatboino1 most likely 😂😂
@@CaptDeadpool32 if he’s fit. He’s gonna be there, ever since he hasn’t been there Brazil has struggled
Ronaldo was 31 in 2016, he then went on two win two consecutive champions league and was on top of the world at 33.
ney career is 99% a success compared to most footballers unfortunately from such a young age was put in comparison that was justified to the pele’s,messi’s and ronaldo’s. it’s such a disappointment to the publics eyes which it’s disappointing because his name is gonna be forgotten eventually because he hasn’t been available for the last couple of years. it’s sad, it’s disappointing because he was the last of a dying generation of footballers that played like a brazilians before they over complicated themselves.
Us Brazilians love and hate him: love him for how much he has given for us but hate him for PSG and for actions outside the pitch
the part of your video before the football print add always makes me think it is the end of the video (i usually listen only)
Compared the impact messi impact on the mls vs Ronaldo impact on the saubi league
The rumors here in Brazil are that there are plans for him to return to Santos in an a deal which would included essentially ownership of the club which is tragic as it shows just how decadent our clubs have become.
The idea of Neymar owning Santos is amazing and terrifying at same time
@ I’m one of the rare few Brazilians who dislike Neymar.
And it goes without saying that there are still tens of millions in Brazil who think he is the man to lead Brazil in 2026 while we have Raphinha arguably playing the best football in the world today, Vini just off winning the FIFA player of the year award, and the absolutely lack of foresight by the FA and supporters to see the issue isn’t the players but how the FA handles the national team which if you really want a rabbit hole, I highly recommend you follow it through to its bottomless pits of corruption and how in less than a few cycles post winning the World Cup in 2002, the powers that be have essentially insured we never threaten winning the World Cup again by the way the side is run…
But I’m mostly rambling now, sorry.

If Neymar goes back to Brazil to play for Santos, at least he’ll never have to arrange flights just to go and celebrate his sister’s birthday
I like Neymar, but sadly, I think the best he can do, is to just retire, and maybe take a coaching license if he still love the pitch
His injuries already ruined him permanently, and everyone knew that.
I'm glad at least he's bossing it for me on loan at Palace at the top of the Prem in my save

Man has made more money than most other players in the business and he is not even 35. He did everything right so far. Now he has to find something that fulfills him for the rest of his life. That is what so many footballers fail at. Especially if they are from Brazil.
I think this was his victory lap, he’s not looking after his fitness if it’s a hamstring injury

Thought this was a FNG vid for a sec lol. Neymar may as well go to Inter Miami and reunite with Messi and Suarez
Vizeh, if somehow Burnley make it back to the PL would you sack Scott Parker and take back Sean Dyche?
back to the question...next step for Neymar: final small bag for Inter Messi on a TAM deal, to reunite MSN, where he won't play very much, and then retirement, who would have thought he'd have less of an impact on football than Kaká, who ended his career in MLS...
Man's more injured than Owen Hargreaves was at United.
Neymar and Scott Carson when it comes to winning trophies they contributed nothing for☠️🐐🗿
