A glorified legacy band, nothing more. Still making a living on past glories when DDY was in the band. Today, they wouldn’t even get a recording contract. They need to put the classic lineup back together. Anything less is a total ripoff for the fans.

100% correct, I saw them in 1983 in Columbia South Carolina at the Carolina Colleseum the Kilroy tour . They had energy back then and DDY . Now the music shows their age due to the musics slower tempos and less band movement on stage.

DDY couldn't be in any band. Has to wear dark glasses and has black sticky covering on his windows at home. Saw him interviewed and the interviewer couldn't even ask him a question. He just went on about who knows what. He's certifiable

@@catherineferguson7646 He actually could, as over a year of rehabilitation and therapy has allowed him to control the hyper light sensitivity that derailed him from Styx tour in 1998. He’s been touring ever since. Saw him in Vegas (DDY & The Music of Styx) & he was as good as ever. Shaw & JY have made it clear for 20+ years that they just don’t want him in the band anymore, as they want complete control. DDY recently said that he no longer wants to be in the band, just do a final tour for the fans. Shaw, Inc. still won’t do it. This is personal - effectively cheating their own fan base to childishly spite someone they don’t like & don’t want to creatively compete with. IMO this current incarnation of Styx is a decent band with flashes of musical ingenuity, but it’s nowhere near what it was with DDY. It was a supergroup that could have been near the legendary heights of Journey, even Aerosmith had it continued with the classic lineup. Instead, it’s a group of game workmen where there used to be laughing masters. The arguments of Shaw & JY have no credibility, as there’s no good reason against a final fan appreciation tour. Thus, Styx is a story of potential greatness that will never be.
