I cannot express my love for Dragons Rising ENOUGH. Love this video!! This episode was so sweet. The whole concept of found family in Ninjago is absolutely lovely 🥺 Cole x Geo 4ever ❤
I only just realized Sora ran away from home because she didn’t meet up with the expectations of the people she cared about, just like Cole ran away(?) from Marty Oppenheimer and his dad when he couldn’t be the son he (reasonably) thought his dad wanted
And the parallels are still there with the parents, Lou doesn't get mad at Cole being a ninja, he gets mad because he is stealing a trophy,of course it was to save the world but it was the right thing to win it fairly and ofc Lou congrats his son and accepts he isn't a singer or dancer like him, he and Cole finally solved their problems. And then you have Sora parents... they are bad parents. The first thing that hurts them is that "she abandoned them" when they did that first, Sora didn't need to apologize for that, and I'm so glad she didn't.
I feel like it was a missed opportunity for the Teapot of Tyrahn not to appear in the background of the land of lost things somewhere. I feel like it would’ve been a cool Easter egg and very fitting for the teapot. This is the first season since season 11 that hasn’t teased Nadakhans return. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the ninjago writers, it’s that they love to blue ball Skybound fans
The whole episode I thought Geo was gonna tell Cole he likes him lol 🥲 I just love all the characters in this season, especially Cole. Giving Cole an entire episode is just amazing.
@@torturedpoet02 imo I actually think that something that should’ve happened. I think it was really weird how Nya didn’t mention Skybound at all in the last djinn and she literally had no reaction to seeing a djinn despite literally having died because of one. I don’t think it would make sense for Nya to go over every single detail and thing that happened in Skybound but her not mentioning at all in that episode is really weird and it’s ultimately why the last djinn is my least favorite episode of dragons rising
This is a good video, I love the finders quick question, though....is Spitz Skales Jr. after losing his memories because of the merge? I just see so many similarities for some weird reason and we know because of Jay that people lost they're memories...and plus that would be awesome since we haven't seen the dude since fricking hands of time for crying out loud!! But if he isn't that's okay, Spitz is just as a good character and I can't wait to see him more later❤
I really love this episode too i keep rewatching it because i love Cole hes always been my fav character, and now Geo is my fav too, i want to see more of him, i keep thinking that maybe i mean its "just a theory, a ninjago theory" that maybe aracor the djin ( i hope i wrote the name right) may be able to wish Geo and the others out of the land of lost things, this is just wishful thinking but i overthink a lot and this is what i came up with, but maybe aracor doesnt have the power to do that, with his current state i mean. I just hope we see more of Geo thats all. And btw i totally agree with the ship >:3
Fr we’d BETTER see more of Geo, the amount they were able to do with him in one episode is insane, he has SO much potential as a character. Interesting theory! It’d be a neat way to utilize wish magic again.
I LOVED this episode and honestly I love your videos. They're really interesting and entertaining I love the way you explain things. I don't know theres more I want to say but it'd be kinda repeating myself, I'm really not good at putting thoughts into words. I just really like your videos, the connections and parallels you find, I agree with a lot of your opinions or like make me agree because what you say makes sense.
I hope Sora can see Geo again and thank him for helping her realize who she is that she doesn’t need to prove herself to her parents and I don’t often say this but Geo X Cole it’s so cute and obvious
i just got back into my ninjago ways and im loving your channel! i wanna binge them all but don't have alot of time😭💕btw would you ever make video about harumi and you thoughts on her??
YOU WERE SO REAL FOR THIS, ESPECIALLY THE LAST ONE WITH THE PENCIL AND THE TREE ✋😂😂😂 I completely agree with everything you explained in this video, but I liked how you pointed out how kind of harsh we were on Nya. You made me think twice about what she said, and now I see the difference between past experiences with using two powers at the same time compared to this instance. Another thing that you explained very well was how sadistic Dr. LaRow was in the episode (sadistic may be an overstatement, but her continuing to degrade Sora when she has the chance is bad on its own). Ep 16 made me appreciate Dr. LaRow as a villain and a building block for Sora's character. She is on my list of favorite villains ✨ Also the fact how you explained Sora's development -- I couldn't have said it better myself ✨ She definitely improved significantly in just one season (and the fact that it's the first season of N:DR too), but what's concerning is that Arin needs to catch up with her in terms of development. Sora, as you said, carried season one, but Arin only had a little side revelation with his Spinjitzu abilities which didn't really benefit the story, except for the fact he practically destroy a ship engine. I am hoping season two will touch up more on Arin so him and Sora can develop *together* as Cole and Geo did in this episode. Overall, you have analyzed this episode excellently ✨ *cough cough* Over-anazyled, maybe, but it was still great! As Kai would say, "HARD AGREE!!" Speaking of Kai, I wonder what will happen with the unexplained Lava scenes we got in the OG show now that Geo is in the picture 👀. I don't want to get into the details because Kai has Skylor which risks the chance of a love triangle (Amber Lava) and the fact that we could have another love triangle with Cole, Geo, and Kai (not to mention Conia is soooo cute), but hopefully DR works something out, not only for breaking Cole's curse of being a shipping container, but for the show as a whole. Love this vid, Dexie! Keep it up! 💗✨
This is definitely my favorite episode of DR season 1. Cole is my favorite character and seeing him getting his spotlight is truly amazing. And tbh I don't see Geo and Cole as a ship. I just think they're really good friends/family who can relate to one another
best anlysiser ever man these videos are so good. i just love the messages of dragons rising so much. one thing though, wouldn't cole and geo pairing be zoophilia though since they aren't the same species. but idk
really fun ep but Sora opening up to Nya, Cole, and Geo about her past and knowing how she never opened up to Arin (her BEST FRIEND) and Lloyd is what keeps it from being perfect. And if I'm being honest, I don't really like Nya and Sora as a duo and I really hope Nya never trains Sora cuz she's perfectly fine training under Lloyd. (And I feel like they could have a really nice dynamic cuz of their similarities backstory-wise) PS Geode/Lostshipping is awesome
Huh, that’s a good point. I like the duos (Lloyd training Arin, Nya training Sora) but Sora keeping secrets from Arin is actually pretty strange, not something I’d thought about. Mayybee she got more comfortable opening up to others after the initial reveal in ep6? But idk.
I am disappointed you didn‘t analyze the Kai and Wyldfyre subplot of this episode too. I know, their scenes in the follow-up episode are way more interesting, but I want to hear your theory on how, when and why Kai learned about these healing rocks from Wu. Did they visit the Wyldness before? If so, when? Are these healing rocks found in other realms as well? Where did they come from? How did Wu know about them? Are they actually called „healing rocks“ or do they have an official name that I just forgot? Do they only work on dragons? What is the extent of their power? Could they have used them to save Mystaké? Or Nya at the end of Skybound? Or even at the end of Seabound? (That would make Crystalized even worse lol.)
Ah yeah, those scenes weren’t relevant to the main plot - they just happened to be in the same episode - so I didn’t mention them. But you raise some good points. Since DR is a continuous story (unlike most Wildbrain seasons) I’m not bothered by plot holes/missing info, bc I assume we’ll get answers eventually. (Tbh anything that makes Crystallized worse is good in my book. That season was so bad, we might as well meme on it lmao 💀)
I hate when things are described as cinematic. What gives anyone the right to decide what should or shouldn't be played in cinemas? The episodes listed near the beginning as your favourites have good writing, pacing and are really engaging, but what factor makes them more cut out for the big screen? I would rather watch Ninjago anyday of the week than a lot of stuff that has been released in cinemas and vice a versa. Mini-rant aside, good video.
Wy does Skylor make him look like in idiot?! Like does she want Kai or not?! Like I don’t understand!! Skylor knows that Kai has a crush on her but she doesn’t do anything about it!!! It’s like she makes Kai to keep going until he gets the hint or something!?
Yeah that’s kinda the point lol. Geo was scared Cole would leave since he valued their bond, which is a big theme in the episode - the value of community/connection (which is what I spent most of this video talking about..) The ship is just a bonus 🙃
@@DexilejJ sorry, I was just annoyed that I keep seeing videos where someone comes up with a new ship for Cole and I always think to myself that he doesn't already have a girlfriend
About Skylor? I mean, you’re asking the same things as me, so I don’t really have an answer lol. Her behavior is precisely why I don’t like the Kailor ship anymore - it bogs down Kai and Skylor’s characters and it’s going nowhere.
