Being honest, I feel like we could've seen more Jungian Hero-Villain parallels with Arin and Beatrix. One of the things that I've always loved about this show are the parallels (which is why your videos are awesome) We didn't see that much of Beatrix with any of the Ninja, and that made her a bit forgettable; Dr. LaRow in the other hand had a lot of scenes with Sora and the show gave them a lot of history, so when she showed up in the land of lost things you could feel the tension among these two.

Something I found really weird is that Lloyd doesn’t mention his mom once in the entire season. I know Misako is a very controversial character (Personally I think she’s very over hated) but whether you like her or not, her and Lloyd have a good relationship and they care about each other so it’s really weird that Lloyd seems to have no interest in trying to find her
Honestly I was thinking the same thing about nya and kai- We know they don’t have the closest relationship with parents- but I was kinda also hoping for some type of mention🫤 but again do we really know how much time has passed? 😀
Ninjago being on air since I was in kindergarten (I’m in uni now lmao) it’s something that DESPERATELY needed this kind of reboot. It was juggling too many characters and had to keep track of so much expanding lore that it kind of just tripped over itself in Crystalized. DR focusing on just 3 or so characters, letting the old legacy ninja stay relevant but never stealing agency from the new mains was very refreshing. Lloyd having to graduate to being a mentor and tackling his master role has been a *long* time coming but I’m glad it happened now rather than any later. The story is fun, the setting is even funner, the villains and visuals are pretty top notch, the new mains are distinct and have a clear role, it’s just buttery smooth so far.

One interesting thing about the administration is that all of the employees and petitioners are from Ninjago. Munce, Merlopians, Humans, Nindroids and Serpentine are all native to Ninjago. This won't probably be touched upon and they'll go on treating this like their people from all the realms, but it bears keeping in mind.
As a Jay fan, honestly his scene didn't upset me at all, sure it was short, but it was a really good set up of what's to come, giving us just enough questions to theorize with, there was a lot going on this season, so based on where he's at, going too deep into the realm of madness, it wouldn't' have gotten the proper focus it needed, I honestly think next season will focus on it a lot, with Cole following master Wu's ghost, considering Wu's ghost was the one to help find Zane, I'm willing to bet he'll be the one to help find Jay as well
Something I genuinely loved about this season was how open it ended. Usually with older seasons, everything is tied up in a neat little bow, and while that’s the case for Beatrix, we definitely got a more open ended case for Ras and Jordana. I remember growing up I was always anticipating what the next villain would be (ghosts, pirates, snakes) and now I anticipate what the villains will actually do next. It feels less gimmicky and more like an actual story to me; if that makes sense. Anyways great analysis, you’ve earned a subscriber!
Definitely! There are hints to the heroes’ plot lines as well - Cole following Wu’s ghost, Jay in the administration, and Arin still needs to find his parents. It feels like the show knows where it’s going, which is really refreshing!
One of my only nitpicks is that Lloyd never mentions Sensei Garmadon, probably don’t want to confuse younger viewers, but wasn’t he an important teacher to Lloyd? Wu wasn’t the only one who taught Lloyd important lessons. Lloyd even used some of his lessons against Emperor Garmadon in Hunted. I can get Lloyd not talking about Garmadon or Harumi due to trauma, but if they were so important last season, why are they forgotten about? Same with Lloyd being part Oni-dragon especially in a show called Dragons Rising.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I agree that Kai and Wyldfyre and Lloyd and Arin's mission thingys were rushed and the rhythm was out of place. My brain felt weird just watching those episodes and you finally helped me explain to myself why. Although, yes, Kai has *definitely* improved. Sure, Kai was reckless in the past, but it was more reckless in a "I'm going to protect you at all costs," compared to Wyldfyre, who all she wants to do is have fun. Maybe because no one remembers it, and that if she reveals it they can't handle the info dump? Plus, it's be a good way to develop Nya. But that's the thing: Arin has been Sora's drive for like the longest time, and if Sors loses him, she loses all self-worth of herself -- and vice versa, for Arin. Which is why she focuses on her Elemental Power, and Arin on his Spinjitzu. I can already see how dangerous this is for Sora and Arin already, but I try not to worry abt it bc I've seen enough trauma from Ninjago already 😭 (I just love those besties, I really do. Dragons rising was really good. Such a breath of fresh air after crystallized. However I was very disappointed in one episode. The last djinn. This was the episode I was most hyped for going into the season and it’s also the episode I am the most disappointed in. Nya having literally no reaction to seeing another Djinn again despite her history with them is super bizarre and makes no sense, and her not even mentioning the events of skybound or Nadakhan once is even weirder. This was the time for Nya to finally talk about Skybound. It would’ve made complete sense in the story for her to bring up the events but she just doesn’t. Also Arrakores powers not working I expected because if they did, he could just solve all of the Ninjis problems for them since he’s a good guy unlike Nadakhan but the problem is, the reasoning for his powers not working makes no sense. He says that ever since Djinjago fell his powers didn’t work, but that makes literally no sense Because Nadakhans powers always worked just fine. I have no idea why they didn’t blame his powers not working on the merge like they blame everything else on. This is easily my least favorite episode of the season just because of its missed potential alone
I agree about the Nya thing, however I don't find this to be such a big deal. An honourable Skybound mention wouldn't have made much of a difference. But here is where you are wrong. I have seen a lot of people make the same mistake but the Djinn Magic relies on hope, not on Djinndjago. Nadakhan had hope (after all he collected countless souls, married Nya and tried to rebuild his home), that's why his wish magic worked. That was actually one of the main points of the episode
Totally agree on Nya, that was a huge missed opportunity to get some Skybound closure. I think they had the right idea by sending her to Djinnjago but the follow-through was.. lacking. Wish magic has always confused me lol, it’s an automatic plot hole no matter how it’s used. In the words of Kai, “when things don’t make sense, I just ignore them” :p
Welcome back! I'm glad you enjoyed Dragons Rising as much as I did! As for my thoughts, the season was pretty good! Part 2 really elevated some of the concepts from part 1 for me. Loved seeing Arin's and Lloyd's student and mentor relationship and Kai finally adressing his trauma from Seabound was something I wasn't expecting, but still welcomed since I found it weird that Crystalized didn't spend too much time on it (which is a common thing I found: being that Dragons Rising handled a lot of the concepts better than Season 11 and Crystalized). Also I audibly gasped when Jay showed up, only to have him not show up again for the remainder of the season (I'm sure he'll have a bigger part in season 2 when it comes out this year). Also, I really like your personality! Your humor is super funny and it what makes the videos engaging! Can't wait to see what you cook up next!
It’s been so long since we had good Jaya content and giving what a tender moment Nya and Cole had in part 2, I’m speculating. Personally I adore Skybound, but if Dragons Rising actually managed to pull off Nya x Cole in a relatable and captivating way in future episodes, I’d be way too impressed to be mad
Heh, I highly doubt it. Nya and Cole hadn’t seen each other in years, of course they were gonna be physically affectionate after reuniting. But breaking up Jaya after the events of Seabound? Very unlikely. I’d be impressed _and_ mad lol.

I think the reason nya didnt mention skybound is because in the finale jay wished to go to the past and do something that would completely erase skybound from the timeline.
Pretty sure only Nya and Jay remember some things about the sky pirates. I think it was somewhere in Season 8 where the commissioner mentions the idea of sky pirates and Nya and Jay look at each other like they know.
jay and nya remember all of the events of skybound, the other ninja don't, it just feels like the writers didn't think to include the fact that nya basically died at the end of skybound (and also she should have MAD ptsd being in the presence of a djinn)
My favorite episode of the season is the administration, Even if I don’t understand how the administration sent those people to the cursed realm even though the cursed realm was destroyed. The preeminent is in the departed realm, so did they just feed those people to the preeminent? That’s actually pretty darkly humorous
The only thing I don't like in seasons 8 12 and 1 (dragons rising) is that we learn very little about Ninjago's history. I mean the serpantines and the war and the first elemental masters. I am quit worried whether we learn anything new in the next seasons
So my biggest personal problems with DR season1 part 2 is that the administration episode honestly felt like 1 part setup for season 2, and 2 parts advertisement for the 2 in 1 mech and Zane's spinjitsu car. And that the fact that in the Last Djinn, Nadakhan and the FACT that Nya inadvertently destroyed Djinjago by drowning the preeminent back in Possession. I feel like the fact that Nya at the very least caused Djinjago's destruction needs to be addressed and I hate how they have just swept this under the rug. Like you don't even have to have Arrakore be hateful or even blaming Nya, just Show Nya feeling guilty about it. but it's just not brought up. Now are there more prominent problems like pacing, yes, but its these two things that bothered me the most
I hope we at least get some sort of resolution for Krux and Acronix. I feel like since they were namedropped in Crystalized they're going to play some sort of role in the future. At least I REALLY hope so.
Great season but the flashback in the calm inside is awful. I mainly hate Lloyd’s voice. His new voice coming out of his old body sounds so wrong to me. It basically ruined the whole scene for me. The scene also looks…….. off. Something about it just doesn’t look right to me. They also didn’t even get Lloyd’s old design right

The thing is, tho, Sora needs a pep talk, too, because by the end of the season, she's still doubting herself. Like, gurl, U JUST SAVED UR BESTIE LIKE HOW CAN U DOUBT URSELF AFTER THAT??? But that's the thing: Arin has been Sora's drive for like the longest time, and if Sors loses him, she loses all self-worth of herself -- and vice versa, for Arin. Which is why she focuses on her Elemental Power, and Arin on his Spinjitzu. I can already see how dangerous this is for Sora and Arin already, but I try not to worry abt it bc I've seen enough trauma from Ninjago already 😭

Dragons rising was really good. Such a breath of fresh air after crystallized. However I was very disappointed in one episode. The last djinn. This was the episode I was most hyped for going into the season and it’s also the episode I am the most disappointed in. Nya having literally no reaction to seeing another Djinn again despite her history with them is super bizarre and makes no sense, and her not even mentioning the events of skybound or Nadakhan once is even weirder. This was the time for Nya to finally talk about Skybound. It would’ve made complete sense in the story for her to bring up the events but she just doesn’t. Also Arrakores powers not working I expected because if they did, he could just solve all of the Ninjis problems for them since he’s a good guy unlike Nadakhan but the problem is, the reasoning for his powers not working makes no sense. He says that ever since Djinjago fell his powers didn’t work, but that makes literally no sense Because Nadakhans powers always worked just fine. I have no idea why they didn’t blame his powers not working on the merge like they blame everything else on. This is easily my least favorite episode of the season just because of its missed potential alone
I agree about the Nya thing, however I don't find this to be such a big deal. An honourable Skybound mention wouldn't have made much of a difference. But here is where you are wrong. I have seen a lot of people make the same mistake but the Djinn Magic relies on hope, not on Djinndjago. Nadakhan had hope (after all he collected countless souls, married Nya and tried to rebuild his home), that's why his wish magic worked. That was actually one of the main points of the episode
Totally agree on Nya, that was a huge missed opportunity to get some Skybound closure. I think they had the right idea by sending her to Djinnjago but the follow-through was.. lacking.
Wish magic has always confused me lol, it’s an automatic plot hole no matter how it’s used. In the words of Kai, “when things don’t make sense, I just ignore them” :p

As for my thoughts, the season was pretty good! Part 2 really elevated some of the concepts from part 1 for me. Loved seeing Arin's and Lloyd's student and mentor relationship and Kai finally adressing his trauma from Seabound was something I wasn't expecting, but still welcomed since I found it weird that Crystalized didn't spend too much time on it (which is a common thing I found: being that Dragons Rising handled a lot of the concepts better than Season 11 and Crystalized). Also I audibly gasped when Jay showed up, only to have him not show up again for the remainder of the season (I'm sure he'll have a bigger part in season 2 when it comes out this year).
Also, I really like your personality! Your humor is super funny and it what makes the videos engaging! Can't wait to see what you cook up next!

Heh, I highly doubt it. Nya and Cole hadn’t seen each other in years, of course they were gonna be physically affectionate after reuniting. But breaking up Jaya after the events of Seabound? Very unlikely. I’d be impressed _and_ mad lol.

I think the reason nya didnt mention skybound is because in the finale jay wished to go to the past and do something that would completely erase skybound from the timeline.
Pretty sure only Nya and Jay remember some things about the sky pirates. I think it was somewhere in Season 8 where the commissioner mentions the idea of sky pirates and Nya and Jay look at each other like they know.
jay and nya remember all of the events of skybound, the other ninja don't, it just feels like the writers didn't think to include the fact that nya basically died at the end of skybound (and also she should have MAD ptsd being in the presence of a djinn)

My favorite episode of the season is the administration, Even if I don’t understand how the administration sent those people to the cursed realm even though the cursed realm was destroyed. The only thing I don't like in seasons 8 12 and 1 (dragons rising) is that we learn very little about Ninjago's history. I mean the serpantines and the war and the first elemental masters. I am quit worried whether we learn anything new in the next seasons

In general seasons after 7 are let's say too new compared to the older ones.
So my biggest personal problems with DR season1 part 2 is that the administration episode honestly felt like 1 part setup for season 2, and 2 parts advertisement for the 2 in 1 mech and Zane's spinjitsu car. And that the fact that in the Last Djinn, Nadakhan and the FACT that Nya inadvertently destroyed Djinjago by drowning the preeminent back in Possession. I feel like the fact that Nya at the very least caused Djinjago's destruction needs to be addressed and I hate how they have just swept this under the rug. Like you don't even have to have Arrakore be hateful or even blaming Nya, just Show Nya feeling guilty about it. but it's just not brought up.
Now are there more prominent problems like pacing, yes, but its these two things that bothered me the most
Nya is not in the land of the Djinn. Its a Djinn building in another realm (I think?)
And we got more elements for some reason even dow the time twins are still out there are we ever going to resolve that
I hope we at least get some sort of resolution for Krux and Acronix. I feel like since they were namedropped in Crystalized they're going to play some sort of role in the future. At least I REALLY hope so.

Great season but the flashback in the calm inside is awful. I mainly hate Lloyd’s voice. His new voice coming out of his old body sounds so wrong to me. It basically ruined the whole scene for me. The scene also looks…….. off. Something about it just doesn’t look right to me. They also didn’t even get Lloyd’s old design right
