I use 'Smooth Echo' a lot. I even use it for the 'Bounce' effect when i'm too lazy to even instant double on the other deck. I have it set on everything too...Silent Cue, Up & Cross faders. Coming from gear that never had 'smooth echo' button, I don't think I can live without it😅.

Smooth Echo is an exclusive feature on the DJM-S11 and DDJ-REV7. It’s not a feature that can be added to the DJM-S7 since the hardware is not configured for it.
While it doesn't work on the crossfader, the DJM-S7 does in fact have Ducking Echo. It behaves similar to Smooth Echo in terms of the channel faders for instant echo out effects.

@pioneerdj Does the Sampler FX On work the same as on the S9?
Yes. SHIFT > Smooth Echo will engage the Sampler FX
I’ve got an S7. Is the smooth echo feature going to be available on an update at any point?
