Pretty enlightening to see your workflow and methods. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@Fellowfilmmaker This looks pretty nifty! I am curious, I have read the specs on the EOS R50, and I see a few issues for my needs. There seems to be a recording limit of one hour, this is problematic for me as I oftentimes end up in Zoom calls or meetings with my students longer than this. Does the Atomos Ninja help with this? The other thing I have read is that the dummy battery is wreaking havoc with buzz in audio, have you had that experience. I am super glad I found you, new sub now will be following along, thanks for the info!
Looks great heather! But do you have a latency while doing Livestream between audio and video? It's my case when I tried using my camlink 4k.... Latency of 1.5sec between the two!
Depends on what program I use it with. Inside OBS I can fix the latency issues
Hey! For your setup is there a big difference using a dummy battery vs going usb c power delivery instead? Trying to do a similar setup
I've been trying to use my Canon camera as a webcam with my new iMac, but there was no support. Glad this video popped up on my feed. Would I just need the adapter without the small monitor?
All you'd need is the HDMI cable and capture card and it's a webcam :D
Your tech videos are the best. I watch them even if I don’t need the info. 😂
I appreciate that!
Is the atomos recording quality exactly the same as recording to the camera’s internal memory card? I have found that the latter is *exponentially better* quality than the computer via camlink, so was wondering if the atomos also yields slightly lower quality?
Oh one more thing… doesn’t having the audio file separate from the video file make it harder to slice & dice your main video on the timeline and keep everything in sync? I’ve always found that having my main audio track bound to the video makes it easier. Are you able to somehow bind/lock them in your editor so they stay in sync even after slicing the track into many smaller pieces to remove unwanted sections?
Seems like your life would be easier if you ran the mic direct to camera and allowed that video to pass their the atomos and select that for the live stream audio signal.
Curious why you would switch between Condor & Camlink. What would cause you to use one vs. the other? I would think you would just settle on one.
Cool set-up. Mine is slightly similar. I've got a camera, mic and lights attached to my desk (also an electric standing desk) but I record straight to hard drive. I'm willing to give up a tad bit of video quality to be able to edit faster. My other camera is on an iFootage monopod so I don't stay tethered to the desk. I have the same small iFootage desk monopod and hadn't thought of using it like that. Might change it up. Thanks again for sharing and the BTS.
Neat! Glad you enjoyed the video
I don't like white cameras
coz most lenses are black ))
This is great!
Sure is! :D
Thanks for the video. You probably realize this now, but there is some weird distrotion going on with your voice. A clear example would be when you said the word "read" just after the 2:44 mark. There are some other times when you say a "y" sound, like in "why" or "my." Not just trying to criticize or anything like that, but just thought you might want to investigate. Anyway, thanks again for the video.
I'll have to look into it thanks
Great points here. I didn't think about the native compression that would be going on if recording directly to the computer. Seems like a pretty seamless workflow here! Always love your videos and the straight-shooting info. Big fan! Keep up the great work!
Yeah it def is a better quality, thanks for watching!
Mileage will vary but for anyone that doesn't have a particularly beefy computer, offloading the recording to the Ninja definitely makes a lot of sense.
Absolutely! Especially on Intel computers
wait, R50 has clean HDMI Out? wish my SL2 had clean HDMI Out!..
Yeah it does :D Makes it worthwhile at an entry level price
That’s a very efficient setup. The R50 looks cool in white.
Thanks! and yes it does
I really like the idea of a table top flat bottom monopod. Getting it soon from your links.
It's awesome! I totally love it :D And it can handle heavy setups
Always love setup videos :D Maybe its just me but your 4k seems to be a bit squashed, maybe YT compression?
It could be some compression for YT, no piece is totally perfect I suppose :D
@@FellowFilmmakerI just felt your other videos were sharper, maybe I am wrong
Grelt video as always:) do you have a link til the fluid video head? Thanks :)
Thanks! And here's the link: amzn.to/40FvQGq
@@FellowFilmmaker thank you :)
love and blessings!
thanks
Switch to the octava mic insted of rode you see the déférence directtly
guess Id have to look into it
First!
Woot! You're on fire
Cost effectiveness is not nearly as good as 2 cameras. I would buy 2 cameras streaming camera doesnt need to be interchangeable lens, POE powered wired to router is better.
Yeah, everyone has different needs for sure :D
sigh-mew-taneously 🤣
lol
