Maybe in the future all the tech companies (Apple, Samsung, Google..) will be on the ePaper trend and have their own devices for their own book ecosystem 😮😂
How often do you need to charge it? Since it runs AOSP / Android does it run all the regular background tasks you'd find on a tablet - or can it really enter a deep sleep where the power drops near zero?
All i need this for is for sheet music (since we also play outside and on a normal tablet i cant see anything). It needs to be able to connect to other android tablets, windows PC, read PDFs and be able to turn the display for if the notes are "printed" sideways. And i also need to be able to create folders and sort my stuff. Also a decent refresh rate for turning the page mid playing (with a footpedal) would be nice. Since this is currently on sale for 300€ till july 20 this is BY FAR the cheapest option. Is it ok for those needs? I also heard you cant zoom in is that true?
For sketching, notepad and reading, this is perfect! For me as an artist. Especially as it is cheaper than the competition at £350 UK with case, pen & delivery.... SOLD!
Thanks for your effort. I've just bought this device. I live in Turkey, and for now, Lonovo is cheaper than Remarkable and Huawei. I dont know if it is only my device or is generraly something wrong with Lenovo Smart Paper, but when I open my device, I can't find my notes, folders or books in library. They just disappear time to time. So considering the purpose o buying this device, it disappointed me. Think properly before u buy this device.
Is this even available now? As of October 6 (one day after this review) I cannot find it on Lenovo's site or on Amazon. Is there such a thing as Vaper Hardware?
In my region (EU) it's still available no problem. I also can't really confirm the availability issues the video mentions, for me it went smoothly back in June.
The international version allows to simply copy the APK files to the internal storage. Installing is straight forward, by just navigating to the file with the built in file manager and tapping it.
@@ChalidRaqami thank you for your reply. Did you have any luck getting google play to work? APK files for some apps work successfully. But I was unsuccessful getting google play to work
@@rhyswyber797 I haven't tried and I doubt it's possible to be honest. Getting google play to work on a AOSP-deliverd devices has been getting harder and harder in my experience. Even more so on heavily customized E-Ink devices. If you don't need the payment verification Google provides, an alternative store like aurora might be the better option. Just don't use it with your main Google account, just in case- see: www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/13tyk0z/google_began_to_ban_accounts_that_are_using/
Can you read articles from the websites like pubmed, google scholar on this ? Can you edit word documents ? I am trying to find an e reader that does that
I need to write down so much, but i cannot have 500 employees writing and tossing away paper so this is going to make a difference between this and remarkable
An e-ink tablet from Lenovo could have been great, but this seems like another missed opportunity. Manufacturers keep putting cheap hardware with poorly made software into those devices, knowing that they will sell anyways, because they are e- ink.
Don't get where you have this opinion from - I use the smart paper for more than half a year now and for me it offers a great user experience (although there are a few minor issues), especially after its last firmware update which addressed a lot of quality of life features.
Good for you. We might not have the same expections. But I haven't used this specific device to be honest so I can't say it's bad. My comment was more about the general lack of innovation and the outrageous lie about "weeks of autonomy" in the industry.
@@colorona8456 Do you know if it works with the Notion App? I have so many of my notes already on Notion and am looking to get the Smart Paper if Notion is available. Thanks :).
I've noticed that where I live the lenovo is more expensive then the remarkable but considering it comes with accessories it's actually much cheaper.
Thank you for your work. Awesome video. Looking forward to the full review too.

there is no future homie. ww3 is coming

You need to create a lenovo account and log in from time to time. Had the same problem. Its annoying
Great, detailed review! Do you have any plans to review the Supernote A5x? I'm super curious to see how it compares to other e-writables.

How did you go about side loading applications onto the e-reader?

Please, make a review of Pocketbook Inkapad Color 2.
Yo, like it- what a good . take care,
Just more of the same old user unfriendly boring stuff.
At this pace we won't have a device with a decent battery life, good UX and GPS before 2045.
what the fuck are you talking about?
