    One of the best places I’ve found to buy stainless steel cookware is at a local thrift store. People don’t know how to cook in them so they donate them. I’ve found quite a few nice pans for just a few dollars

      @@chrussublah4264aluminum clad stainless is the best composition for even heat distribution. Sometimes people are saying 'stainless' when they are really talking about triply which is the stainless with internal aluminum layer. In this video he is doing just that but all of these are triply. If you are seeing that at thrift stores do NOT pass it by. Good luck

      @@chrussublah4264sadly?? mate, all those 5 layers, copper, etc are completely unnecessary.. Maybe they just make your cookware look fancy, without adding any benefits. D3 Clad (Steel - Aluminize - Steel) is all you really need, honestly. It is durable, light, and can cook anything. Literally anything.

    Several months ago I got rid of all my old non-stick cookware and bought All-Clad D3. I haven't regretted it, but it's important to completely heat the pans first so nothing sticks. I chose the D3 because I wanted good quality but not too heavy.

    I have a Heritage 12" skillet, it is the best stainless skillet I have or have ever used. I'm normally a carbon steel guy, but I use stainless for things that would damage the seasoning on my carbon steel. It might be the Titanium, or just the very smooth finish they put on the skillets - whatever it is, that Heritage skillet has never disappointed. I've never had an issue with sticking or cleanup. It is a nice mid-range in terms of heat retention, small enough thermal mass to be responsive, but enough to hold heat when you're ready to add ingredients or sear. Seems to conduct heat very well, I've always gotten an even sear from it, even when I've put probably borderline too much chicken in it at once. ;-) Note, I'm using it on a middle of the road gas range. I haven't tried it on electric/induction. No, I'm not affiliated with Heritage, just a fan. Probably going to add to my collection soon, do need a replacement sauce pot...

      @@heritagesteel Well, here’s an anecdote and part of the reason I’m a fan. Tonight I made a Key West chicken recipe. The marinade included honey and lime juice. With the acidic citrus I didn’t want to sear in my carbon steel (though the seasoning on it is well established and probably would’ve been fine). For even more challenge, I had enough chicken that I had to cook it in two batches. Because I was putting a fair amount of protein into the skillet and looking for a good sear I was using moderately high heat. You might think that all those sugars would form a caramelized, baked-on mess. Especially with two batches and a lazy chef that did not wipe out the pan in between. (kinda wanted to stress test)
      Clean up consisted of letting it sit with hot water in it while I washed a few other things. Then an experimental wipe with my fingers to see how badly things were stuck on … Not at all, everything came right off. Just a quick wipe with a soapy dish cloth and it was good to go. So aside from the cooking performance aspects, I’m a fan of the ability of these skillets to take some misuse / abuse and not make clean up a challenge. That smooth Titanium enhanced finish just works, and it still looks great. Is it paper towel wipe out easy like a new non-stick? Not quite. But it will be this good next year, and the year after, and probably when my kids inherit it from me. Folks, this is why I’m a fan. It is noticeably better than my smaller 10” stainless made by a company that starts with M...

    All Clad factory seconds sale is the way to go... you can get great deals on items that have flaws that are nearly invisible, and they typically have a wide selection of sizes and series. I picked up a 12" D5 pan with a scratch I need to search for to find, for less than the cost of a new 10" D3 pan.

    No mention of cataphalon, I have an 8 inch for eggs. I thought it was impressive, it is of the classic variety. I like the silver 7 12 pc set I am having a hard time justifying it. Two pieces of cookwarevI use is 8" fry pan and 3qt sause pan. I know this was about stainless steel. I wandered into the blue diamond pans. I can't tell you how impressive they are, you have to be careful you don't move the pan too quick your contents might end up on burner, that's how slippery they get. I hear the coating wears down, time will tell, very Impressive over what most non stick pans offer. Great Video

Focus on the Handles & Lids and Shiny or Matte finishes.... and for those on a Tighter Budget.....Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross and Burlington will have items from top brands at 35-65% off Retail

    I saw one of your earlier videos last year comparing different cookware from different companies such as this video. So I decided to buy the Demeyere, 5-ply two 11" fry pan, one 12" fry pan, one 2 quart sauce pan, one 3 quart sauce pan and their 5 quart industry dutch oven, in mid 2022, and early 2023. At first I was impressed with their performance. But, now after using them for several months. The Demeyere 5-ply and industry cookware are too heavy and stains easily. They are really not fun to cook with. I'm going back to All-Clad, 3-ply high polished cookware. They are so much lighter, better looking and easy to cook with.

    Hi, I am interested in the Le Creuset stainless steel signature sets. Order my firat 26cm fry pan. My concern is that the fry pans say NEVER heat without oil most other brands say you can until at cooking temp on medium. It worries me that the quality of these isn't as good if they cannot do that. They say heat the pan before adding oil on other brands and cook sites. Le Creuset says the opposite heat up with oil. They say heat up and put a drop of water to test then ad oil if it's ok and at temp. ( Water test) why would these pans not be able to do this? This may be make or break if I am to order these. Kind regards Richard

    Last spring I decided to replace my worn-out All-Clad nonstick 8" skillet with something that would last "forever". I did a lot of research on what would meet my needs best, and ended up buying a Hestan Nanobond on a "loss leader" sale. [Same price as a factory seconds All-Clad D3.]
    6 months later, and I made the right decision. The pan sears very well, with enough fat it cooks eggs with little sticking, and washes up easily. [I let the pan soak.] It can develop a rainbow tarnish, but a single drop of polish and 10 seconds takes care of that. It's my most used pan, and still looks brand new.
    The Hestan pans are fiendishly expensive at full price, but if you have the budget, it's worth seriously considering.

    I'll stick with made in. No offense to the other brands but I like the stats of th mede in. Though I do want a copper core pan. I need a 12" and 10" pan those are the two sizes I used the most . I just want them made in america or Europe

    Aluminium pans and aluminium in general are toxic when heated.
    Questions: Does aluminium layer inside the steel pan release toxicity?? A link to study would be nice(for my own curiosity).
    Are there pure stainless steel pans or mb with copper but without aluminium? Link to those also would be cool ^_^

    • @PrudentReviews
      @PrudentReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      I don’t know of any studies on this exact topic but the aluminum is sandwiched between steel, so the aluminum doesn’t contact the food at all.

      I bought the 14-piece set of Tramontina TriPly cookware and added the extra large stockpot, I think it was 20 quarts? I say was, because it disappeared somewhere?😡 Mine is the made in Brazil set, not made in China! I've had my set for about 6 or 7 years. I take care of them, and they still look extremely nice. I had an incident where I accidentally left my 4 quart sauce pan half full of boiling water on the stove and forgot about it. It boiled dry and sat red hot on the stove for the better part of an hour. It ruined the pan!😢 I called Tramontina, and they sent me a brand new one for under $40, including tax and shipping! Even though it was completely my fault, Tramontina went out of their way to take care of me! I'm a happy customer! Now, if I could only find my 20 quart stock pot!?😪

      @PrudentReviews  8 місяців тому +1

      It depends on the All-Clad collection. All-Clad Copper Core and D5 are still significantly more expensive than Made In. All-Clad D3 has been on sale lately and the discounted prices are similar to Made In. All-Clad’s aluminum non-stick collections are the cheapest.

    Wtf, anyone have any suggestions

    • @Elc22
      @Elc22 6 місяців тому +1

      You can't cook using stainless in the same way you use non-stick. You need to preheat the pan, then put in your cooking fat (use a generous amount), spread that around and let it heat up for a moment, then put in your food. You also don't want to put on too much cold food at once, as food sticks if the pan gets too cold.
