  • I've been wanting a full All-Clad cookware set for years but the price is a hard pill to swallow. What I've done is look for the same great features that All-Clad has and find sets that hit the same marks. That's where Tramontina comes in. $1,000vs $200? It was worth a try and I'm very impressed. I think I found an All-Clad alternative that'll cook almost as great. Check it out!

    Tramontina is very traditional manufacturer in Brazil. Known for making very good quality kitchen implements. It’s been making good stuff since 1911, so it’s a 110 years of tradition. You made a great choice… I’m pretty sure you will not regret. It’s gonna last you a lifetime and Tramontina has a very reliable warrant policy. Enjoy your cookware set!!!

    Awesome review. Thanks. I ended up buying a D3 10" All-Clad frying pan. I liked it but still wanted to try the Tramontina. I looked around at other Tramontina sets and went ahead and bought the Sam's Club version that is a slightly different set from the Cosco version. Had a few pieces that I would use more in the Sam's Club set. I am so satisfied that I sold my All-Clad frying pan. Very well built! IMHO, they are every bit as good as the All-Clad. Very happy. 🙂

      So happy you agree. The All-Clad is really top tier but there's a premium that comes with that. The value on these tri-ply sets is absolutely insane compared to the All-Clads. Non-stop usage and they are still in tip top shape. Even the lids I use on my T-Fal non-sticks as well.

    I'm Brazilian (Tramontina is a Brazilian brand) and I was considering to buy this Grano set but considering all terms I prefered to buy a mix of Grano and professional line. The professional line has 25 years of warranty and Grano just 90 days. Grano is made with 2.6mm layer and Professional have 4.8mm in the botton (for fry pan the bottom is the most import part, not the side). The souce pot I prefer to buy the Grano line because here is important all-clad to heat equally the pot. For the stock pot I'll return to the professional line again, because for this use the bottom is the important part of the pot. However, the Grano line is a great product.

      GOOD LUCK WITH THESE THEY WILL LAST YOU A LIFE TIME IF U TAKE CARE OF THEM THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. just learn to cook with stainless steel which is different to a nonstick. the basic thing is just heat the pan up and have an appropriate amount of oil before putting in your food, then when cooking dont mess with it too much.

    I bought mine at Costco. Love it!! Clean easily. I love the quart markings in the inside. With proper heating I’ve even made over easy eggs with minimal fat without sticking. Dishwasher detergent with discolor any stainless finish. I’d you see if any of the lids fit your all clad fry pans.

    • @denneychoi
      @denneychoi  2 роки тому +1

      That's awesome! I love this set too. And unfortunately the lids didn't fit any of my all-clad. Both in diameter and lip of each lid didn't match the lip of the pans. So no good seal even if it was right diameter. Maybe if the Tramontina pans came with lids, it might be different but with this set? No luck on the all-clads

  • @stephenedwards5063

    The big difference when you go with this brand is the material. It’s oven safe up to 500° which makes them oven safe but the more expensive brands tend to be oven/boiler safe up to 800 or 900°. This allows you to transfer to the broiler. For transparency, cookware needs to be oven safe up to 600° minimum for it to be considered safe to transfer to the broiler. Tbh you can probably still use these in the boiler. It’s just not recommended. In my opinion, most people can buy this brand for stove/oven use and a cast-iron skillet for the broiler.

    Bar Keeper's friend will remove the stuck on grease, easier than SOS pads and without the rusty diminishing SOS pad. It works mechanically with fine grains of porcelain for scrubbing, and also it works chemically with citric acid for dissolving. An SOS pad only offers mechanical cleaning, and the steel wool necessarily breaks down during that process, giving you less material to work with as you scrub. Bar Keeper's friend is the way to go. The only caveat is that the citric acid is rough on hands, so you might need to use hand lotion later. It's rough on hands but it's not toxic.

    So excited for you!
    Don't get rid of those two frying pans. They are nicer quality than the 2 cheaper All Clad you just bought. Sell the All Clad pans and wait to buy the much nicer D3 All Clad or better. Also the saute pan and frying pans have different uses. They aren't duplicates. That new set is also a America's Test Kitchen best buy. Look for the show they rate cookware sets. They said it punched in above its weight and came in just below the All Clad set. So what you have in your hands is more excellent than you know. Hope you enjoy them immensely! Let us know what you think.

    I get that all-clad can be expensive but what do you expect from something that lasts a lifetime? Plus cooking with all-clad changes your whole cooking experience, no joke. Nothing will ever beat it and before I moved back to Europe I bought myself the 14 pieces all clad d3 plus 3 additional pans and spent around $2000 but it was worth every penny.

    • @denneychoi
      @denneychoi  2 роки тому +7

      I haven't made a follow up but I definitely should. I'll get around to it eventually! I absolutely love it. One of my biggest concerns were based off the reviews when I purchased it and it was pitting between the steel and aluminum mostly on the very edges of the pots where the lid sits. I can honestly say they've been rock solid with no damage or pitting. No staining and the handles are rock solid. I still love these suckers and since I've posted this, I've seen them listed and re-listed on Costco. If they aren't up now, I'd wait and check again occasionally.

    • @denneychoi
      @denneychoi  3 роки тому +2

      I do plan on doing a follow-up review but I will say I still absolutely love these pans.
      Again, the non-fully clad items I can't speak to but these full tri-ply is amazing for this price range. I took a look at the lips just now and there is no pitting. There are some micro divets but those are from when I tap the edge with my metal spatula or what not. I'll make sure to capture that on my follow-up video. I do hand wash these but there's been plenty of times they've sat in the sink with water (although not fully submerged) and surprisingly no signs yet. Definitely might come with more time but I've put these guys through it. Simmering down glazes, full pots of soups, day long simmers of ragu, etc.

    I was cracking up watching how excited you were getting over some cookware 😂. Many just won't understand. Thanks for your review, it was very informative. I had fun while learning a lot actually. As a single bachelor, this video was incredibly helpful. The length of the video was 100% justified. I was just at Costco and saw this set. Looks like I'll be picking it up tomorrow! I did have one question. I noticed that on Costco's website it says "Induction" under features. These will work on electric coil stoves with no issues right?

    • @denneychoi
      @denneychoi  5 місяців тому +1

      I appreciate it! I definitely geeked out on these. I also saw they have them online again and was happy to see. You won't regret these at all. Still love them and have not had the itch to "upgrade" to All Clad when I know these work beyond well.
      And those electric coil stoves that get hot and red? You shouldn't have an issue with any type of pots and pans on that type of burner. Induction is usually those glass tops. Not all pots and pans work on them.
