Flamu, the deck armor on the German tier 10 CV is actually trash. I know you arent a CV main, but Midway HE bombs easily penetrate 50mm of armor. A single good drop on this thing will deal 10k to 20k, and AA is basically useless against any decent CV player. Additionally, the Hakuryu’s AP bombs can probably deal citadel hits as well. It might be scary for a DD but this thing is a damage piñata for other CVs. For once, WG introduced a carrier that is very vulnerable to other carriers which is actually historically accurate.
Yeah but they have literally Graf Zeppelin levels of hp at tier ten, making these the least threatening by far. Not to mention that they can't fuck with DDs at all, which is a good change. It's not a removal of the class, but it's not a bad step

According to the naming of ships in the Kriegsmarine, the names of the tier VIII and tier X are wrong. The name of the ship was just the surname or surname + title. Examples for just the surname are the Bismarck (named after Otto von Bismarck) and Tirpitz (named after Alfred von Tirpitz). An example for the addition of the title is Graf Spee (named after Maximillan von Spee). The right name of the tier VIII would be 'Parseval'. The right name of the tier X would be 'Baron Richthofen'.
Talking of rough seas - imagine if someone got ill in that spotting tower put their head over the side and vomited - poor guys on the flight deck! Even a few degrees of roll would have had that thing swinging all over the place - can't see it being useable or even over time staying on the ship with just that single mast structure.

ah German cruiser Seydlitz, planned to be the final member of the 5 Hippers. what can we say about this thing, well it kind of represents Hitler's IQ as it was 95% completed before he authorized the conversion of the cruiser to a carrier and renamed it Weser. This included the removal of all armaments , including the entire main battery which were already installed, and also removed the entire superstructure. Furthermore, interior spaces had to be rearranged. The ship would never be completed by the war's end to no one's surprise. The camo is pretty accurate actually.

Nazi Germany had an unspoken rule, that if you did something risky, defying the orders of the higher ups, you wouldnt be punished, if your alternativ was succesfull. This led to an incredible flexibility, which was the reason why they overran the frensh so quickly. But later into the war, as Hitlers narcotic adiction got worse, he tried to micro everything and gave the generals no option other than to directly carry out his plans. Thats one of the many reasons, why things went south so quickly.

Except these things are still shit even by CV standards. Like why would i play this instead of Midway who has this things damage output but to everything not just cruisers with torpedoes which are faster and have the same total alpha strike on tankier planes which funny enough the rockets are still faster (figure that one out) and am not limited to screwing over BBs and Cruisers but instead everything.
Stukas are slow though, they be easy picking for AA guns. Similarly the fact only Wieser has the Fiesler Fi-167 torpedo bomber is a shame. I never understood why WG thought a Ta-152 makes for a good torpedo bomber. Isn't it a high altitude energy fighter?
Okay so we got a lot of Ap in this game. 1. Ap Shells 2. Ap Bombs 3. Ap Rockets 4. Ap Topedoes AND WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WITH THE AA ON THESE SHIPS, IT PROBABLY HAS AP AA TO.

Why does rictofen get its historical turtleback but not the aegir. Ap rockets are interesting. Supposed to citadel through the deck but they are so small probably can only pick on the armor crept cruisers
At least this will change the current light cruiser HE spamming meta. It may even help DD's because every aspect of these new planes are tailored to cruisers and battleships (AP rockets and planes, very slow but powerful torps). At best it seems they will deal only minor damage to competent DD players, and at worst only spot them.
Oh, I wouldn’t worry much. WG is still salty after June 7, 1941 so you can expect the torpedoes to have a speed of 1kt, the rockets will do 500 citadel damage, and the AP Bombs will mirror the GZ except a dispersion pattern that’s 5 times worse.

These are actually pretty bad, you screw over cruisers and BBs and thats it, and even then it comes at alot of downsides to do it. Just play IJN or USN CVs if you want to mess with cruisers or even the UK ones if burning things down with Napalm is your thing. These are so format dependent it isnt going to last. Or just meme secondary them this is about the best they can do.
I don't understand why wg doesn't flesh out lines that actually had real ships. At this rate it won't be long until there are more paper ships in game than real ones! Also, why can carriers fly planes in rough weather? Ik it is only one thing of many to ask wg. But as an engineer this one really bothers me XD
Because that would be stupid. The truth is, it doesn't matter wether ships are paper or not. All that matters is balance and fun, that's it. If you wanted only ships that were made, you'd get empty lines and lines filled with a shit ton of ships that are all identical, so fun, yai.

If you just keep adding paper ships then you start to lose any historical meaning that the world's navies and ships carried. As far a fun and balenced is concerned that isn't really an argument that carries any weight behind it since wg is constantly failing on that front.

If you do it for long, you only make identical ships because its how things went in real life. Theres a limited number of UNIQUE ships that were ALSO MADE. Now, they HAVE to put paper ships because theyre more interesting. Theres plenty of balanced paper ships. The fact they failed to balance some isnt linked at all. So same conclusion as my first comment: thats just stupid.

lets try it before panicing ... ap rocket dmg will highly depend on the angle ... we have no clue on the normalization i would panic more about he roosevelt rocket .... 30 per plane , 2 planes .... 60 hvar per drop .... thats 120 000 HE dmg per drop and 5 drop max for a total of 600 000 HE dmg per squadron
There was an info on CIS forum about this rockets, that they won't be launched simultaneously. So not an area denial rocket strike of Audacious. It actually more resembles its bombers pattern. And all squadrons of FDR will have something like 30 seconds preparation time between each attack. At least this was back then reported by supertesters.
I honestly don't believe you should have a tech tree with an entire line of fake ships. The German navy almost completed graf zeppelin and we got that in game which is fine and all...but a whole tech tree with 0 real ships is shit. Next we get Russian Carriers and Canadian battleships...this game really starting to go downhill. At least submarines would have some real world counterparts...
@Eric Cartman I know it was relatively finished, again why I had no qualms about it as a premium ship. The same for some paper ships for serious designs that were just not quite reached like the Montana and many of the tier 10 ships. Even Soyuz at tier 9 for the Russians was nearly 80% completed I believe so its reasonable in game. I just don't want a tier 4-10 list with literally 0 ships ever built.
To be honest, I don't fucking CARE because 50% of the ships in this game never fucking existed anyways. if USA, UK, IJN get carriers, why not add something for the germans too? where is the fucking problem?

But... no one would bother putting turtleback on a carrier. Turtleback is meant to resist close-range shots, if a carrier is in close range it's already failed!
@@petrosmarko3092 The only way to balance CVs is to take them out of the game, they just dont fit and take everything away from the game what is fun, being able to flank and setup an ambush for example. The only class in the game that can do damage for free without risking anything, camps in the back , sends out unlimited planes till the end of the game while AA is nerfed hard for most of the ships, its pathetic but its not the only stupid thing in the game that nobody wants, like smolensk/kremlin. EVERY unicum+ player or EVERY unicum clan hates CVs, escpecially in competetive modes, but WG only wants to make money, no matter if it ruins their game. The most stupid thing in this game are the rocket planes, so easy to do massive dmg to DDs/cruisers without any counterplay (just dogde). To be honest , CVs would be less broken if they would get rid of rocket planes or nerfed them hard.

@@TheAmir259 Unfortunately, WG is a game development studio. This means that THEY create THEIR game for US to play. WE don't get to fucking decide what they should add next. To be honest, I probably didn't even play the game at the time they decided to add russian BB's but I am glad they did because they are quite fun to play unlike german battleships which I started out on but soon realized that these 380mm guns can only shotgun around broadsiding battleships at 6km, same with the secondaries. The problem is if they would buff german gun accuracy by a reasonable amount (German guns were in fact very accurate), all these UK/USA fans would come and cry about how german ships get buffs and theirs don't and how it is unfair and "waa waa".

Two Tone, so your criteria for a ship to be implemented in the game is purely historical accuracy? Thats pretty sad considering that everyone knows that variety comes first. If you meant something else, feel free to correct me.
Ok so to break it down for those of you who dont play CVs, the stats look better than it is. Let me explain why First the rocket planes. These are... only OK very "Cruiser killer" only kind of planes. To start off these have the same speed as midway planes (212 max VS 216 max on Midway) but it comes at 220 plane HP (these are all unmodified stats for a fair comparison) and that puts these somehow slower than the second tankiest planes while also having the lowest base HP of any planes as Haku comes in with 70 more HP per plane. Not a good start, but it gets worse. First your payload is pathetic compared to the F8F Bearcat using tiny tims on the Midway as you rely on angle and have 400 less damage and 2/3 of his payload (IE a its 3 rockets of 5400 each plane X3) and while you can deal upwards of 90K to a cruiser that comes at dealing 30K to battleships at most per volley assuming all pen (Cits unlikely) and 9K to DDs with all 3 strikes, something which the Tims wouldnt have the same issues dealing with dds (Tims could deal consistently 45K to a DD assuming all rockets from the full strike land, HVAR and AUD/HAKU would do more). So you use these things VS cruisers and thats it, and make sure you cit them otherwise you'll be doing less damage than any other CV with the HE rockets. Next... those torpedo bombers. not going to sugar coat it 25 knots is PAINFULLY slow as every other CV has 35+ Knot torps. and while the 30600 alpha sounds impressive per drop its not when Midway has a similar drop thanks to 5K X 6 per drop. In total the package does again 90K which again sounds impressive but is middle of the pack while having slower torpedoes (Haku has 108K, AUD has 54K) and a 700M base arming range for such slow torpedoes, its going to make hitting anything consistently very hard as its got the worst arming distance of any tier 10 CV while having the slowest torpedoes. So unless your dropping it against a potato or a stationary BB these are not likely to do anything the other CVS could do for better (AUD lacks alpha but hers converge making her alpha more consistent while also having a very good turn mechanic to keep the drops coming). They are the fastest plane speed wise which is going to make aiming them hard to get used to as you have to keep in mind the torps are painfully slow, so practice for consistency with these. Next the AP dive bombers... not going to sugar coat it if you want AP bombs just play Haku you trade 260 HP for 20 knots of speed but you loose also on the Alpha has Haku has 8500 per bomb X3 VS 7100 per bomb X 3 so you wont be hitting cruisers nearly has hard which is a big deal for AP bombs. While the fact they nose dive in sounds impressive as a general rule you want Altitude so you can get a better angle on your drop for higher pen when aiming for BBs with these and not gaining that altitude is questionable unless they have super good pen angles or something on them. TLDR: If you want to mess with cruisers just Play IJN CVS as you can do that while also killing everyone else on the map, or if you want Alpha rockets use Tiny Tims on Midway its much better than this. The other question now: Can i meme secondary with it? You get a just under 11KM range with full secondary build (10.8KM) with a 11.34 detection by sea range, so yes Meme Secondary away.
The fun fact that Azur Lane stick to the ships that were actually build, meanwhile this historical accurate game(cof cof...sorry some bs got stuck in my throat) brings fictional ships that never left the design sheets

No. France had one slow flattop barge they tried to pass as a carrier, but to no avail because everyone knew it was worthless (Bearn). 21 knots tops in a good day, limited air complement and pretty much useless for practical carrier use. I mean that ship was so worthless as a carrier than, when it defected to the allies when France fell, the best use they could get out of it (in an era when there was a desperate need for carriers) was... as a plane ferry. Yep. A glorified transport of planes. So yeah, well, France had a carrier. Sorta. But that was ir, they didn't have "quite a few". A new class of carriers (of highly questionable design) were being worked on when the war started, the Joffre class, but was years away from completion. France didn't get any "new" carriers after Bearn until they got a CVE on loan, and then a CVL on loan (both after the war). And finally of course when they built the Clemenceaus. But that was decades later. So france wasn't really in a much better position than Germany when it came down to carriers.
@@ramjb France had one slow CV at the beginning of the war, that would fit perfectly at tier IV. It's faster and carries more planes than the Langley, while being slower and carrying more planes than the Hosho. At tier VI we can have the Lafayette (which is the Langley in it's postwar refit state, with improved engines pushing her to 31 knots and more hangar space) or the Bois Belleau (sister ship of the lafayette). At tier VIII we can have the Arromanches, the ex HMS Colossus, and at tier X the Clemenceau in his first state? I'd say there are much more french CV options than there are Germans. As for the uses of the Bearn, it never was used mainly because the air group it carried was used during the land campaign of 1940, from land bases, and got mauled while trying to stem the flood of german troops in northern France, losing two thirds of their Vought 156F dive bombers. when it joined the allies it underwent a refit in the US, and when it was completed it was deemed not useful because of its lack of an armored flight deck and slow speed dimissing her from fast escort duties. It doesn't mean it couldn't fit in the meta of the game.

At least this will change the current light cruiser HE spamming meta. It may even help DD's because every aspect of these new planes are tailored to cruisers and battleships (AP rockets and planes, very slow but powerful torps). At best it seems they will deal only minor damage to competent DD players, and at worst only spot them.

Oh, I wouldn’t worry much. WG is still salty after June 7, 1941 so you can expect the torpedoes to have a speed of 1kt, the rockets will do 500 citadel damage, and the AP Bombs will mirror the GZ except a dispersion pattern that’s 5 times worse.

These are actually pretty bad, you screw over cruisers and BBs and thats it, and even then it comes at alot of downsides to do it. Just play IJN or USN CVs if you want to mess with cruisers or even the UK ones if burning things down with Napalm is your thing. These are so format dependent it isnt going to last. Or just meme secondary them this is about the best they can do.

i would panic more about he roosevelt rocket .... 30 per plane , 2 planes .... 60 hvar per drop .... thats 120 000 HE dmg per drop and 5 drop max for a total of 600 000 HE dmg per squadron
There was an info on CIS forum about this rockets, that they won't be launched simultaneously. So not an area denial rocket strike of Audacious. It actually more resembles its bombers pattern. And all squadrons of FDR will have something like 30 seconds preparation time between each attack. At least this was back then reported by supertesters.
I honestly don't believe you should have a tech tree with an entire line of fake ships. The German navy almost completed graf zeppelin and we got that in game which is fine and all...but a whole tech tree with 0 real ships is shit. Next we get Russian Carriers and Canadian battleships...this game really starting to go downhill. At least submarines would have some real world counterparts...
@Eric Cartman I know it was relatively finished, again why I had no qualms about it as a premium ship. The same for some paper ships for serious designs that were just not quite reached like the Montana and many of the tier 10 ships. Even Soyuz at tier 9 for the Russians was nearly 80% completed I believe so its reasonable in game. I just don't want a tier 4-10 list with literally 0 ships ever built.

@@petrosmarko3092 The only way to balance CVs is to take them out of the game, they just dont fit and take everything away from the game what is fun, being able to flank and setup an ambush for example. The only class in the game that can do damage for free without risking anything, camps in the back , sends out unlimited planes till the end of the game while AA is nerfed hard for most of the ships, its pathetic but its not the only stupid thing in the game that nobody wants, like smolensk/kremlin. EVERY unicum+ player or EVERY unicum clan hates CVs, escpecially in competetive modes, but WG only wants to make money, no matter if it ruins their game.
The most stupid thing in this game are the rocket planes, so easy to do massive dmg to DDs/cruisers without any counterplay (just dogde). To be honest , CVs would be less broken if they would get rid of rocket planes or nerfed them hard.

Flamu, the deck armor on the German tier 10 CV is actually trash. I know you arent a CV main, but Midway HE bombs easily penetrate 50mm of armor. A single good drop on this thing will deal 10k to 20k, and AA is basically useless against any decent CV player. Additionally, the Hakuryu’s AP bombs can probably deal citadel hits as well. It might be scary for a DD but this thing is a damage piñata for other CVs. For once, WG introduced a carrier that is very vulnerable to other carriers which is actually historically accurate.

@@TheAmir259 Unfortunately, WG is a game development studio. This means that THEY create THEIR game for US to play. WE don't get to fucking decide what they should add next. To be honest, I probably didn't even play the game at the time they decided to add russian BB's but I am glad they did because they are quite fun to play unlike german battleships which I started out on but soon realized that these 380mm guns can only shotgun around broadsiding battleships at 6km, same with the secondaries. The problem is if they would buff german gun accuracy by a reasonable amount (German guns were in fact very accurate), all these UK/USA fans would come and cry about how german ships get buffs and theirs don't and how it is unfair and "waa waa".

Ok so to break it down for those of you who dont play CVs, the stats look better than it is. Let me explain why
First the rocket planes. These are... only OK very "Cruiser killer" only kind of planes. To start off these have the same speed as midway planes (212 max VS 216 max on Midway) but it comes at 220 plane HP (these are all unmodified stats for a fair comparison) and that puts these somehow slower than the second tankiest planes while also having the lowest base HP of any planes as Haku comes in with 70 more HP per plane. Not a good start, but it gets worse. First your payload is pathetic compared to the F8F Bearcat using tiny tims on the Midway as you rely on angle and have 400 less damage and 2/3 of his payload (IE a its 3 rockets of 5400 each plane X3) and while you can deal upwards of 90K to a cruiser that comes at dealing 30K to battleships at most per volley assuming all pen (Cits unlikely) and 9K to DDs with all 3 strikes, something which the Tims wouldnt have the same issues dealing with dds (Tims could deal consistently 45K to a DD assuming all rockets from the full strike land, HVAR and AUD/HAKU would do more). So you use these things VS cruisers and thats it, and make sure you cit them otherwise you'll be doing less damage than any other CV with the HE rockets.
Next... those torpedo bombers. not going to sugar coat it 25 knots is PAINFULLY slow as every other CV has 35+ Knot torps. and while the 30600 alpha sounds impressive per drop its not when Midway has a similar drop thanks to 5K X 6 per drop. In total the package does again 90K which again sounds impressive but is middle of the pack while having slower torpedoes (Haku has 108K, AUD has 54K) and a 700M base arming range for such slow torpedoes, its going to make hitting anything consistently very hard as its got the worst arming distance of any tier 10 CV while having the slowest torpedoes. So unless your dropping it against a potato or a stationary BB these are not likely to do anything the other CVS could do for better (AUD lacks alpha but hers converge making her alpha more consistent while also having a very good turn mechanic to keep the drops coming). They are the fastest plane speed wise which is going to make aiming them hard to get used to as you have to keep in mind the torps are painfully slow, so practice for consistency with these.
Next the AP dive bombers... not going to sugar coat it if you want AP bombs just play Haku you trade 260 HP for 20 knots of speed but you loose also on the Alpha has Haku has 8500 per bomb X3 VS 7100 per bomb X 3 so you wont be hitting cruisers nearly has hard which is a big deal for AP bombs. While the fact they nose dive in sounds impressive as a general rule you want Altitude so you can get a better angle on your drop for higher pen when aiming for BBs with these and not gaining that altitude is questionable unless they have super good pen angles or something on them.
TLDR: If you want to mess with cruisers just Play IJN CVS as you can do that while also killing everyone else on the map, or if you want Alpha rockets use Tiny Tims on Midway its much better than this.
The other question now: Can i meme secondary with it? You get a just under 11KM range with full secondary build (10.8KM) with a 11.34 detection by sea range, so yes Meme Secondary away.

uhhh. No. France had one slow flattop barge they tried to pass as a carrier, but to no avail because everyone knew it was worthless (Bearn). 21 knots tops in a good day, limited air complement and pretty much useless for practical carrier use.
I mean that ship was so worthless as a carrier than, when it defected to the allies when France fell, the best use they could get out of it (in an era when there was a desperate need for carriers) was... as a plane ferry. Yep. A glorified transport of planes.
So yeah, well, France had a carrier. Sorta. But that was ir, they didn't have "quite a few". A new class of carriers (of highly questionable design) were being worked on when the war started, the Joffre class, but was years away from completion. France didn't get any "new" carriers after Bearn until they got a CVE on loan, and then a CVL on loan (both after the war). And finally of course when they built the Clemenceaus. But that was decades later. So france wasn't really in a much better position than Germany when it came down to carriers.
@@ramjb France had one slow CV at the beginning of the war, that would fit perfectly at tier IV. It's faster and carries more planes than the Langley, while being slower and carrying more planes than the Hosho. At tier VI we can have the Lafayette (which is the Langley in it's postwar refit state, with improved engines pushing her to 31 knots and more hangar space) or the Bois Belleau (sister ship of the lafayette). At tier VIII we can have the Arromanches, the ex HMS Colossus, and at tier X the Clemenceau in his first state? I'd say there are much more french CV options than there are Germans.
As for the uses of the Bearn, it never was used mainly because the air group it carried was used during the land campaign of 1940, from land bases, and got mauled while trying to stem the flood of german troops in northern France, losing two thirds of their Vought 156F dive bombers. when it joined the allies it underwent a refit in the US, and when it was completed it was deemed not useful because of its lack of an armored flight deck and slow speed dimissing her from fast escort duties. It doesn't mean it couldn't fit in the meta of the game.
Well if they keep the planes pretty bad the T10 seems to have a nice playstile :D

@@bladeclanhalo3 Right, light crusiers with dual-purpose guns do have good AA. However, they have other problems like e.g. not having that great of an armour so plane spotting alone even for a moment might be a big problem.

@Nguyen Johnathan I wouldn't consider the 110 a bomber, An interceptor or rarely ground supporting aircraft, there is a lot of footage of It shooring Bombers side by side with JU88 night fighters, though not always at night and Bf 109 and FW190
