This was almost a perfect game for showcasing all the wonderful characteristics for Wargaming’s sacred class. Your viewer needs to send you one where the marvelous submarine auto-delete function is demonstrated. This might be hard to do at Tier X/Starship. I would expect most Tier X submarine players would have figured out how bad an idea it is to attack one of the Cathedrals of Awesomeness.
But that's the point. Can you imagine being on the other team where you've worked so hard to win and the difference is just the insanely OP CV. It should have been a comfortable win for the red team, but for one player. In a game with 24 participants, one player should not be the deciding factor.
remember being the enemy thunderer in this match, watching my flank melt to planes as I desperately try covering them with my DFAA.. I think i had 12 planes total shot with 7 fighters lol
The problem is the action playstyle, it is hard to balance because if AA would really stop you, you would never be able to attack. In the RTS playstyle you would care less about an attack not working because it would only be one squad of many you control. Also rts had active anti-cv gameplay with the fighters. Rts would have been balanceable, but action playstyle won't get nerfed much at this point.
it was also balanced in a way by having aa cruisers, and not unlimited planes, i mainly played kaga( one of the most disgustings CVS back than wa s0place 13 or so on that ship) but you still got fucked by aa cruisers, or by a cv who went with fighter squads and knew what he was doing.

"There is a reason those two classes completely redefined naval warfare and changed history." I wish someone told Wargaming that. Both of those things are basically a hard counter to surface ships...I don't even understand how anyone thinks they could ever be balanced.
I think the most broken part of the class is the fact that he could make constant strikes and provide constant spotting with no wait time. The CV doesnt even have to be judicious with his strikes or use them strategically. He can pass a low ship and just target him with the next strike 40 secs later. WG turned the CV model into a swarm of killer bees that never runs out.
@@jaywerner8415 RTS CVs weren't busted? 🤣. I mean sure point and click deletion on old Graf Zeppelin, hilarious triple torp cross drops with full destroyer torp damage, all while spotting the entire enemy team literally across the map, was totally fine. RTS CVs had incredibly front loaded damage, which meant if you were good with them you could take over a match, even with permanently losing planes. People complain about spotting now, but you could spot the entire team at all corners of the map simultaneously. However, the high skill ceiling meant you saw much fewer of them, which probably gave you that view point
once anti air skill had no usage number limit on all cruisers... and CVs facing way more stronger AA than these days every one admited that those days CV is kind of balance whereas nowadays lul
They can’t design it around the current actual Russian carrier. . . Oh, wait, yes they could! All they need to do is add a couple of oceangoing tugboats to tow it around the map.
I remember having almost 350k spotting with richthofen on tears of the desert in epicenter mode full t10. Although it gave basically no rewards. Carrier spotting is both cancer to surface ships and unrewarding to CVs. Great mechanic
perfect example of how broken CV, planes and AA are, it going to pain me when i have to play CV just to finish off the last of the missions for campaigns. I remember seeing a video of a soviet CV losing 90+ planes and was still sending out full squads
they should add wind, and make it a requirement that the carrier have a certain relative wind speed across her deck to launch planes. it wouldn't balance the class but it would at least make them move, since you'd have to be moving in a certain direction at a certain speed to launch planes. ya know, like how real carriers work, you cant just launch planes cause you decided to, there are certain conditions that have to be met, one of which is "are my planes gonna have enough airspeed to produce lift by the time they run out of deck?"

Valid choice. Another choice is don’t go above Tier 7. The bottom line: are you having a good time playing? It is a tough time to be coming into the game, with Tier 8 being nothing but pain. While not being a particularly good player I am a veteran of many things, including the rage-uninstall. (At least 4 times, lost count.) They used to give you reasonably decent stuff to reinstall, just had to stay out a month or two. The only reason I am still in after 7 years and 15,000 games is I find away to have a good time, most games. For me this is mostly playing around Tier 6 and 7, saving my few high tier ships for special events like Ranked and Airship Escort. Now that the game is declining there are a lot of experienced players in the mid-tiers.

In spite of having been the victim of a Malta rape in Yamato a few days ago, I am still shocked. What never ceases to amaze me is that CV players don't actually play WoWs. They have a game that is entirely their own. It just happens to consist of persecuting actual players while in god mode. They're always the last to die, and only if their team loses. All the things that other players - even subs to a small degree - have to worry about in game, they can disregard or ignore. It's just mechanically doing the same thing over and over. It can appeal only to retards. They never experience the satisfaction that is earned by good gameplay, like positioning, aiming, ambushing, ammo selection, smart use of consumables, cooperation. It's all just irrelevant to them. These are the people who will use cheat- and god mode in any game the moment the codes become available. It's all about mindless shooting while not having to worry about your own character/ship.
Plus, the Nakimov is insane because the cycle time with rocket assisted takeoff and single run strikes. If it is able to push up closer to the battle, it strikes like a battleship reload time. Completely insane.

I remember RTS carriers, and how-despite being ludicrously OP-they took a lot of skill to play. I know I liked them, but I only really had fun at low-tier because I couldn't handle more than about three squadrons at once. Seemed like everyone kinda looked at high CV players as masters of some dark art; a rare breed of micromanager with top-notch map awareness and hands like nobody's business. They still ruined your game, usually, but there was a certain respect for a CV that could plop perfect drops on top of you. -Also DFAA and AA in general did something- Now, even a schmuck like me can put-out commanding victories in a CV. Not reliably, of course, but I can, and with only a basic grasp of the technique and theory behind playing the class. To put it simply, with my level of CV-knowledge and practice... if you transposed that to any other class, I'd struggle to do 50k at Tier VIII, yet I can put-out over 100k semi-regularly in a Tier VIII CV.
The wildest thing about this replay is that the player barely needs to bother to set up strikes properly. He doesn't need to maneuver around for optimal attack angles, dodge AA or anything like that. Just flies straight in, drops, spawns the next squadron, rinse and repeat.
One day I might save up enough channel points to send in one of my Knackerdimov games. Averaging 57k and regularly deplaned by about 7 minutes in; even picking solo ships the wall of flak fills my screen and instantly disembowels the flight. I wonder if I'm playing a different game sometimes, as I wouldn't last two seconds in some of the crossfire AA areas this replay lingered.
Winrate 45% actually not surprising at all. Just a bell curve among CV players, and class differences don't matter in that fact. (Since Each team will have a CV in every match, win rate is a comparison between CV players, not CV players and other classes ). Now 50k is hilariously bad
i mentioned on forum that we need faster interceptor on that 2 points cruiser captain skill that only boost "spotter airplane". that 2 points skil should boost fighter aircraft as well.
I still remember some discussions on Reddit before the CV rework where people were like, RTS CVs are so broken literally nothing can be worse. And I always thought well, be careful what you wish for, you may get it. So this fill me with joy. People wanted to ruin CVs but forgot that in Soviet Russia, CVs ruin you.
My last game was just a couple of months after the CV rework. Watching my Vanguard fire 4 flak puffs with 4 turrets which each spat out 44 rounds per minute of 5.25” flak reduced to 1/16th of the firepower so I could easily be farmed was when I said “I’m done”. I let realism slide a little bit, so often, but by that point, I was done. This game isn’t arcade, it’s a level beyond arcade, that tries to hide its decisions behind “realism” when it suits them, and when called out say “it’s just a game, needs to be balanced for fun,”
Newer CVs (and most ships in general) are like this, Malta can lose 150 planes and still have full squadrons. It has x2 as many planes on deck as Audacious, and a full 60 second faster plane regen once upgraded with a captain. In a sub 20 minute match, that is nuts.
I find at T6, 1 CV per side I feel comfortable to execute a few aggressive plays here and there because of the slower planes gives you some blind time to maneover, once you hit T8 if you are center map you are being spotted by a fresh attack before the previous attack animation has finished, they are way too fast.
I was in a Colorado yesterday. The game had 4 cvs and 4 subs. Lets just say the 2 enemy cvs felt that they wanted to totally ruin the game for me and they did with resounding success.
We people who play US battleships dont feel ripped off at all! lol 21 knot ships, with 0% armor vs multipurpouse CV's from Tier 3 to Tier 7 = fun and engaging gameplay :D (not to mention need to grind 300k exp with the Colorado now lmao)
It just requires a Simple Maneuver. In this case, build for range and maneuver to park next to one of your carriers. You will be well-protected from the submarines and somewhat protected from your opponents’ planes. Not your concept of a good time? No easy answers for that one.
@@meganoobbg3387 Playing the US ships in general makes me feel ripped off. These were some of, if not the best AA ships of their period, even the big boy BBs, yet in this game they can't do shit to a carrier.
After watching this, I can’t blame my team for getting killed quickly at the start and the match ends in a loss before it even starts. I’ve been going back to port whenever I see a CV and sub match, just not worth wasting 10 minutes of my life to do 20k damage, be permanently spotted, and lose….and what’s worse, all the bonuses and signals that get wasted. Thank you WG
I think that Wow is a game of positioning since with a good one you can find covers and be tanky, find flanks and deal huge damage, ... But with the CV : 1) whathever you do your position is compromised if the CV decides to target you : he can create corssfire out of nowhere and punish people hiding still behind islands 2) you don't have to think about positioning as a CV as you could see that he didn't even move before 8 min in the game. And he can go wherever he wants with his planes : AA ships or not, gathering of ships or not, his squadrons were still full at the end 3) this is the only class that doesn't lose HP and fighting power as long as you do not troll while dealing insane dmg to the enemy team. We should also take note that along losing HP, the other ships also lose their AA (against HE or rockets) which is already useless but this makes them even more vulnerable 4) they have the best scouting ability without risking anything unlike destroyers 5) Insane damage without requiring an skills : 300k while scouting and forcing ships to get into vulnerbae positions or showing their flanks to your team 6) Best long range armor : as long as you're angle and at long range, BB's AP and cruisers' HE/AP can't pen you CCL : insane damage, spotting without risking anything nor requiring any skills while preventing all the other classes to even play the game A player venting his frustration against CV
It's great seeing the four teams going at each other in the match. The two CV teams and the two surface ship teams. I like the way WG promotes teamwork in WoWS with CVs. 🤨
His allies were consistently shooting at ships he spotted. i.e. good allies working with a CV. If they were not concentrating fire and ignoring what the CV spotted. Many of his targets would have lived much longer.
I uninstalled and sold my account 2 years ago because of cvs, but even watching this now I still feel an overwhelming amount of rage. I don't know how you still do it...
What about reducing the range of planes? just like the range of fire on any other ship this could limit the attack method. at the same time, the range of detection by aircraft could be significantly reduced
I tried Saipan once again the other day. It was a real struggle. Losing so many planes and really hard to aim the rockets. This doesn't look anything like that.

This isn't aCV replay flamu, it's a cooking video.
I believe the title is "How to cook potatoes 12 different ways"
well put lmao
Funny thing about this replay, despite how OP the carrier is and how much hes doing the team still nearly lost the match lmao.
Well, the Hakuryu on the other team was mauling the greens pretty badly, too.
But that's the point. Can you imagine being on the other team where you've worked so hard to win and the difference is just the insanely OP CV. It should have been a comfortable win for the red team, but for one player. In a game with 24 participants, one player should not be the deciding factor.
@@deaks25 I don't have to imagine it, cus I deal with it every day I play. Okay probably not every day but more often then I'd like.

remember being the enemy thunderer in this match, watching my flank melt to planes as I desperately try covering them with my DFAA.. I think i had 12 planes total shot with 7 fighters lol
CV planes spotting for the team is equivalent of gun shells spotting...
Watching Flamu suffer through this is oddly satisfying.
@@valentinpetrovitsch9406 Yes, the moment when you tried to spot and accidentally flew into Mino's AA range and just saw fifth of your striking capability vanish.

That drop on the Thunderer for 25-26k was just.. sad times man.
Up to ~ Tier VII, still sort of World of Warships. Tier VIII through Starship, World of Sadists and Masochists. (The sadists now have two classes of ship to play, but sadly submarines do require hands and a brain.)
I remember watching iChase play the original version of carriers. They were just as overpowered, but required a lot of skill to play.
this was true last year. now mid-tiers have a sub infestation problem
This Replay is the reason why i haven't played this wonderfull game since 4 months. Thanks WG
Only 4 months? I don't play this shitafter 3 week from cv's rework.. remember my des moines full AA build do nothing to planes.. bye bye wg.. thankfully i never spent any money on this shit..

I really regret not playing CVs more before the rework, they were pretty fun.
It was while the UI didn't let you down, sure.
Been losing 40% to 60% hp (more than standard cvs) to hybrid dropbombs as a Halland lately.. truly balans.
More planes = fewer players (like WOWP....).
The hybrid drops hurt DDs very bad. Very tight drop reticle.

That we're aware of... 🤔
This video reminds me of a match I had awhile ago. I had gotten frankly tired of the carriers on my team having either: less than 25 battles OR a
"There is a reason those two classes completely redefined naval warfare and changed history."
I wish someone told Wargaming that.
It's safe to say that Nakimov is hilariously busted
RTS CVS where not this busted. AA was better and places where limited and had to reload.
Russian.......
However, the high skill ceiling meant you saw much fewer of them, which probably gave you that view point
once anti air skill had no usage number limit on all cruisers...
and CVs facing way more stronger AA than these days

Nah. We clearly need more data... To buff it of course.
Wait for the inevitable soviet super CV. The thing will kill full HP battleships in one or two strikes.
20.00 damage per rocket cyka blyat. What do you mean it isnt balans? Comrade is this not what the people want?
They can’t design it around the current actual Russian carrier. . . Oh, wait, yes they could! All they need to do is add a couple of oceangoing tugboats to tow it around the map.
@@old_guard2431 lol Kuznetsov
I remember having almost 350k spotting with richthofen on tears of the desert in epicenter mode full t10. Although it gave basically no rewards. Carrier spotting is both cancer to surface ships and unrewarding to CVs. Great mechanic
as battleship, CV spotting my enemies is helping me a lot.
Well that is going to change, spotting is going to be rewarded now.
I was literally wailing throughout the entire gameplay.
Can't wait to read all WG's sycophants stumbling over each other to defend this
perfect example of how broken CV, planes and AA are, it going to pain me when i have to play CV just to finish off the last of the missions for campaigns.
Clearly a gentleman's class. Doesn't even see his strikes, because that'd be too casual :D
2:40 into the match and the CV, which hasn't moved an inch btw, has destroyed a DD (AA joke), and made about 25k spotting dmg...
I really don't understand why any1 keeps playing this game.. I haven't played for about a year, perhaps more but forcing myself to sit here and watch this basically made me go out and get a bucket of ice cream and feel bad.. What a shit show..
Why move if there's no threat
I found out the cv counter, I stopped playing the game. Feels great.
I found one better, 3 Louisiana Div and focus CV with bombers, by 10th minute, CV is dead, even sooner if we rotate our drops so that other two can use guns.
>Carriers can't out-airfield an airfield.
Wargaming: And I took that personally.
Yesterday I just witnessed a satsuma getting tortured by eagle despite having me in des moines near him ... From 100% hp to 60 % with just 2 squadrons and the third squadrons first drop hit detonation lol.
AA is a sad joke in the game atm.
To be fair, CV's absolutely DO reduce camping...
After all, it's not camping if you're DEAD!
This is perfectly balanced. I dont see any problem here.
As funny as that statement is, WeeGee actually believes it, and tries to justify it using the mythical spreadsheet 😂
As someone that used to enjoy CVS I see plenty of issues.
@@phillewis1749 The problem is the only spreadsheet they are using is ship/class popularity. Not a lot of people play this broken boring crap so they are buffing it more and more while nerfing AA in general.
0:00 the background art looks so good
I just started recently and have a few lines up to tier 6 but this video convinced me not to waste any more of my time with this game.
Now that the game is declining there are a lot of experienced players in the mid-tiers.
my friend that is a main on cruisers just sat on Nakhimov and made ez 160k dmg just flying and making enemies use their repairs, our clan was sitting and watching that craziness of the most Balans CV

Source of the wallpaper?
I don't know what's more cursed. That carrier, or the carrier player's username.
Good post. They should F off to WOWP.
Yep. It's a 1v1 or 2v2 mode for CV players, while all other ships are just like creeps in MOBA games waiting to be farmed be them.
Plus, the Nakimov is insane because the cycle time with rocket assisted takeoff and single run strikes. If it is able to push up closer to the battle, it strikes like a battleship reload time. Completely insane.
Faster bro. You can nuke a BB 100-0% in a couple of min.
I was told with a straight face that when I lost 20k to Nakihmov rocket planes in an angled Kutuzov stern on; that it was either untrue or it was my fault for not "Just dodge"-ing 😂

World famous Kohwai 🎉
I remember RTS carriers, and how-despite being ludicrously OP-they took a lot of skill to play. I know I liked them, but I only really had fun at low-tier because I couldn't handle more than about three squadrons at once. Seemed like everyone kinda looked at high CV players as masters of some dark art; a rare breed of micromanager with top-notch map awareness and hands like nobody's business. They still ruined your game, usually, but there was a certain respect for a CV that could plop perfect drops on top of you. -Also DFAA and AA in general did something-
Now, even a schmuck like me can put-out commanding victories in a CV.
Just flies straight in, drops, spawns the next squadron, rinse and repeat.
now imagine people averaging below 45% and 50k in this class
„Just position better or dodge with a simple maneuver“. That sums it all up
i mentioned on forum that we need faster interceptor on that 2 points cruiser captain skill that only boost "spotter airplane". that 2 points skil should boost fighter aircraft as well.
This piece of a ship is the only actual cv that is the definition of UNFAIR
I still remember some discussions on Reddit before the CV rework where people were like, RTS CVs are so broken literally nothing can be worse. And I always thought well, be careful what you wish for, you may get it. So this fill me with joy. People wanted to ruin CVs but forgot that in Soviet Russia, CVs ruin you.
At least rts carrier needed a lot of practice to make it good with how much there could be to manage
Imagine if WG let AA work.
So many complaints wouldn't be there anymore.
Newer CVs (and most ships in general) are like this, Malta can lose 150 planes and still have full squadrons. It has x2 as many planes on deck as Audacious, and a full 60 second faster plane regen once upgraded with a captain. In a sub 20 minute match, that is nuts.
Carriers work just Ike real life, owning everything but those nasty submarines.
"The only winning move is not to play"
where i can get that wallpaper?
So what were the rest of the ships for? The CVs are all that matter.
Just being curious, I would like to get this wallpaper flamu has, the question is where would I be able to get it?
I find at T6, 1 CV per side I feel comfortable to execute a few aggressive plays here and there because of the slower planes gives you some blind time to maneover, once you hit T8 if you are center map you are being spotted by a fresh attack before the previous attack animation has finished, they are way too fast.
Guuuuud. Join them flamu. UNLEASH DARK FLAMU. POUR ALL YOUR HATE AND MALICE INTO THIS CLASS. ONE CLASS TO RULE THEM ALL.
Yeah agree, i play only Richthofen and full squads are only possible in the first 5 -10minutes after that its a shit show
It just requires a Simple Maneuver. In this case, build for range and maneuver to park next to one of your carriers. You will be well-protected from the submarines and somewhat protected from your opponents’ planes.
Not your concept of a good time? No easy answers for that one.

Playing the US ships in general makes me feel ripped off. These were some of, if not the best AA ships of their period, even the big boy BBs, yet in this game they can't do shit to a carrier.
@@meganoobbg3387 yes my only positive is i seem to win a lot with the ship.
An interesting bit of realism/balancing would be to require the cv to be making X (maybe 20-30?) knots in order to launch planes.

I had over 50 coop games because I did this on repeat LOL
I think that Wow is a game of positioning since with a good one you can find covers and be tanky, find flanks and deal huge damage, ...
But with the CV :
1) whathever you do your position is compromised if the CV decides to target you : he can create corssfire out of nowhere and punish people hiding still behind islands
2) you don't have to think about positioning as a CV as you could see that he didn't even move before 8 min in the game. And he can go wherever he wants with his planes : AA ships or not, gathering of ships or not, his squadrons were still full at the end
3) this is the only class that doesn't lose HP and fighting power as long as you do not troll while dealing insane dmg to the enemy team. We should also take note that along losing HP, the other ships also lose their AA (against HE or rockets) which is already useless but this makes them even more vulnerable
4) they have the best scouting ability without risking anything unlike destroyers
5) Insane damage without requiring an skills : 300k while scouting and forcing ships to get into vulnerbae positions or showing their flanks to your team
6) Best long range armor : as long as you're angle and at long range, BB's AP and cruisers' HE/AP can't pen you
CCL : insane damage, spotting without risking anything nor requiring any skills while preventing all the other classes to even play the game
A player venting his frustration against CV
(high tier) CVs have always turned a game of 24 players into a game of 2 players and 22 victims. Total anti-design.
and to think he could have been so much closer to the enemy team, probably get like 30% more dmg, he didn't even play that well
It's great seeing the four teams going at each other in the match. The two CV teams and the two surface ship teams. I like the way WG promotes teamwork in WoWS with CVs. 🤨
My favorite thing about tier 10 CVs is that they're immune to armor piercing shells that weigh more than my car.

What about reducing the range of planes? just like the range of fire on any other ship this could limit the attack method. at the same time, the range of detection by aircraft could be significantly reduced
Or just make AA do literally anything again, that would be a good start.
I am so glad I only have feet instead of hands. Wouldn't want to be confused with a CV player.
I tried Saipan once again the other day. It was a real struggle. Losing so many planes and really hard to aim the rockets. This doesn't look anything like that.
