I have a feeling Richard Harris was actually fooling THEM
Hi
Alan Rickman carrying the secret of the ending all the way through the franchise... very poetically mirrors Snape's journey as a "double agent" of sorts, giving way more gravitas to the "After all this time?" - "Always" dialogue...
oh god now i'm crying again
:(
😭
Those words have left a kind of mental programming in me, too >.
Absolutely. Still fucking cry at that scene. Just hearing those words.
Its delivery is sabsolutely spot on.
Think we all are 💔💔💔
James and Oliver didn't just embody the weasley twins. It was meant to be. They skipped school the day of the audition just to attend it. Sheer destiny on not only their casting but many others 😊
They were so perfect for the roles 😂
Ye
I always thought the twins and Molly were the best cast characters from book to movie.
This left me missing Alan Rickman... this human was extraordinary
Rest in peace Alan 😔
Yes same
He should've still been around
I doubt he would have gone when he found out that JK Rowling had been ostracized.
R.I.P Rickman 💙 🙏
And Richard Harris 😔
The Daniel Radcliffe & Helena Bonham Carter moment was HILARIOUS!!!
I love how Emma was the most hesitant one about all the fame back then but has since been in the biggest projects out of all of them
She is more consistent
well Radcliffe has had his pick, he just prefers smaller budget of kilter films.
@@robertlaidlaw4592 yea exactly meanwhile Emma has been a disney princess, was in Perks and the new Little Women etc
Emma is a amazing person and great actress 🙂
Very much like Hermione like, she still wants to be known for her talents meanwhile Daniel is like Harry Potter and be out of the strong limelight.
The only big revelation was about Emma thinking about leaving. The other ones we knew. In the interview between Jo and Daniel, she mentioned that she told Alan about Lilly and everything else.
I knew both of those things.
Yes, if you watched the 'making of' the movies that's pretty much the only thing new.
Edit: and maybe Dan's letter to HBC
Nah. Emma thinking abt leaving is not new but her for it reason is.
That’s not new either that had been a something a lot of ppl knew
I knew about Emma actually but not about Alan Rickman that was new for me
I read once that Jason Isaacs tried to smuggle the snake-headed wand of Lucius Malfoy off the set, but got caught. Honestly, I can't blame him because it is a lovely wand.
Its not a wand its a cane- for Lucius its very much a status symbol-he's rich, powerful and well connected. He uses his wandtin order of the Phoenix
@@jonathanfraser321 But he took the wand out of the end of his cane when Voldemort wanted it. So technically it's both.
It was so sweet to see the cast reunite and reminisce about growing up on set with each other. Plus, Emma's confession about her crush on Tom is too cute for words! 🥰
So Alan Rickman just WAS Snape.
I love the quote of his: "When I'm 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I'll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, 'After all this time? ' And I will say, 'Always'."
Sorry to break it to you, but it’s a fake quote
@@e.elisha.a4663 it's kind of annoying that you have to bring that up. Although I do the same thing like when people share the quote from Marine LtGen "Chesty" Puller that goes "show me to the brig. I want to see the REAL Marines."
Although that quote is to enable douchebags, while the Harry Potter quote is just wholesome.
@@Charlezard. but he didn’t say it, like why not share cool/wholesome quotes he actually said?
@@e.elisha.a4663 a lot of people don't know it's not real.
@@Charlezard. and that’s a good thing…?
I really miss Alan Rickman, such a legend and gone too soon.
Tom Felton and Emma Watson mutual respect and love is proof that platonic love does exist and should be nurtured
Bullshit
@Personal Jesus That's just inaccurate. Lesbiens, gays and bisexuals can have same gender friends. As a bisexual myself I have two friends, one is gay and one is straight but they are also friends, nothing romantic at all
@Personal Jesus I'm saying it's different for Guys
@@imalshaprs Buts it's not different
@Personal Jesus If you are not a straight dude your opinion is irrelevant.
Practical effects is what makes the Harry Potter franchise timeless versus the Fantastic Beasts which is all CGI. There is also joy and magic to the HP franchise which is very lacking from the FB franchise. Those FB movies just look very sad and lifeless.
It we
It was so well done
Facts
its not the cgi at fault, its the animation. if cgi does sth unrealistically you instantly know its unrealistic.
but since order of the phoenix its nothing practical look at the Dementors from Azkaban to order of the Phoenix they look like cgi shit
The 'after all this time? Always' quote will go on beyond the Harry Potter fame.
for real
Still brings a tear to my eyes
Everyone is talking about Alan. Which i admit I miss him too, same with Helen. But the part with Richard Harris and Forkes was so sweet makes me think about if he wouldve lived and continue it would've been spectacular.
Fawkes, the Phoenix was named Fawkes. 😆
It was so beautifully done. I love how it ended with Snape's "always" line 🙌🏼♥️
That made me ugly cry like a little brat on a playground
@@klaraleblochova lol same.
Makes me miss Alan Rickman, and Helen Mcrory - two fab actors taken too soon
It’s sad because there are more! It might have been a Mojo video that had 10(?) actors/actresses from the cast that passed away ; it’s sad :(
Also the actor who played Uncle Vernon
Oh! The friendship and love between Emma and Tom is just so sweet!
"After all this time? "
"ALWAYS."
It gives me chills...
I miss Alan Rickman what a legend he was, and that voice you know we will never hear that voice again it was unique, and I got real emotion with the list of people who were in Harry Potter but know have passed away, and I got very teary at the end because it made realize how much I miss Harry Potter
Yeah rip Alan :(
Dep los actores fallecidos de las películas de Harry Potter , eran hermosos , también ,🖤🤎💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤍💘💝💖
Alan Rickmans "Always" ALWAYS gives me chills.
Always
I absolutely loved that in the end the Harry Potter story turned out to be a love story! Sucks for Snape that it's unrequited love, but I still love it and it still brings a tear to my eyes when I watch that sequence of Snape's love for Lily!
This series taught me about friendship, love, bravery, and the goodness and downfall of human nature, among many other things. The life lessons dispersed in the text have always kept me coming back for more. Many people grew up with Harry, so for them, the Harry Potter series represents their childhood🥰🥰🥰✌✌✌
The Harry Potter series is so magical beyond any measures with all the perfect actings and character meanings that another remake cannot come for another 30-40 years.
Very true. Especially when JK Rowling wrote some of the characters based on actors she wanted to play the roles (ie the characters for Hagrid and Snape were based on the the actors that played them. Rowling made it mandatory for those actors to play those roles). I also think that a lot of the character development that went on was based on the personal development of the actors that were playing the roles at the time (an example being Neville).
The reunion was also chef's kiss, i enjoyed every moment of it!
A harry potter directors edition would be great. All those deleted scenes would make the movies that much better I think.
I would have LOVED to see Peeves, but I remember them saying how it ALL ended up on the cutting room floor, never to be seen. I still wonder who's decision that was too not at the very least have it as deleted scenes. To see Rik Mayall of all people portraying Peeves would've been amazing.
Let’s hope that one day we get a BBC tv adaptation of the books which definitely would include Peeves, McGonagall’s sass, and so many other things that we love
I'd love to see that scene that they were all singing in goblet of fire-
With deleted scenes. One of the worst is when they become friends. It was an 18 second cut. After they save Hermione from the Troll, They walk back to the dorms when Hermione thanks them for saving her and Ron says what are friends for. When the Dvds first came out they had these scenes. Thats when they become friends. My Grand Nephew just watches the movie and I told him about the scene. He Has not read the books yet. I just bought him the whole set.
Sorcerer's Stone often airs on Syfy as an Extended Cut version with many deleted scenes put in. Same with Goblet of Fire.
The fact that Alan Rickman was the only person on Earth (other than the author herself) to know he was the story's most pure hearted hero must have been gold dust to the legendary actor. The smallest details that Alan Rickman added to the character will truly stand the test of time!
No matter how many years pass, that "Always" will forever bring me to tears. I miss Alan Rickman!! 💔
I remember the interview with Jo Rowling and Daniel and I think she said that she pulled Alan aside and told him the ending because she loved the character and knew that only he could pull it off. Then he would joke "Oh, I think/don't think the character would do that" just to tease production.
Alan Rickman was such a class act! Hope he’s resting with the angels🙏🏽
Kudos to the whole cast for making it through eight movies, especially Emma. It's a lot to ask of child actors. On the other hand, if you are serious about acting, getting to work with the cream of British actors is an acting class money can't buy.
My favorite moment from the special was Emma's and Rupert's heart to heart near the very end.😢😘
It was beautiful 😍
The one about Rickman knowing the ending should not be #1.
We all knew it before this show.
There have been a lot of articles written about it a few years ago.
Right I see a bunch of comments saying it was the biggest revelation and I'm like people how do you not know this?
I didn't know it.
Only thing I wondered while watching the reunion was why so many actors didn’t do it, didn’t really feel right without Maggie smith and Michael gambon plus many others but I still enjoyed it cause I love Harry Potter
I think its probably because the programme was really aimed at children and their parents who grew up with HP. Of course some have passed, Rickman, Harris and McRory. Covidprobably didnt help and actors are often filming elsewhere or promoting other work or appearing in plays
Probably because of age, covid and in Gambon's case simply not being bothered:😁
@@Denis-89 yea I figured a lot was probably covid plus some actors are weird about reunion stuff and just don’t really wanna do it or don’t care like you said, I just wish everyone was there!
I was bawling over missing Helen McCrory and Alan Rickman. So so bad.
Like Alan Rickman also Benedict Cumberbatch knew about the ending of the Infinity War and Endgame. Such a wise decision from both the directors to give all the ending of their stories to the key characters they both played.
Cept in Rickman's case he got it straight from the author herself as she knew the twist involving him is the linchpin to the whole story. Not even the people higher up in the films got that reveal, just Rickman.
Jason Isaacs auditioning for a role he didn't want, which got him the part. That reminds me of the story of how Avery Brooks got his role on Deep Space Nine.
Rickman and Isaacs played their roles in a similar way. soft spoken, quiet and deliberate l menace and quiet malice-perhaps that's what you need to get the Dark Mark
One thing i wish they had in this 20th Anniversary was a one-on-one sit down segment between Daniel & Tom to discuss the Malfoy & Pottah rivalry
Aaaah, my childhood 😭 so grateful for all the cast making my childhood just a little bit more beautiful ❤
I think Emma nearly leaving was the biggest revelation. We all knew Rickman knew his end for years.
I loved this reunion special so much that it makes me want to rewatch the films again.
I am ☝🏾
I love how Alan Rickman was the one who read the books...hilarious. This was great, thanks for this video!
Emma Watson is an amazing person and skilled actress 💖. And I can not think about any other person that would have done a better job playing Hermione Granger in the movies 🌟
OMG, I loved (and love) this. ❤️❤️❤️
Now I wish for a Lord of the Rings 20th anniversary reunion - taking place in New Zealand’s original sets of course - though. Time span is about right for that too. 💖
I would sob the whole way through, but yes... This idea please. ♥
The sets arent there unfortunately
@@Denis-89 @Denis Are you on something? LOL Most LOTR sets in New Zealand, like i.e. Hobbiton, not only _are there_ but they've been turned into tourist attractions - the so-called Tolkien tourism.
For me, it's when Helena Bonham Carter laughs and it sounds exactly like how Beatrix would cackle. 🖤🤍🖤
Ngl I want her Bellatrix laugh clip as a ringtone or alarm.
I lost someone, and the most painful thing about losing ...is seeing continuation without. HP is strong, but Alan isnt around, for Love Actually, for HP, therein the void.
Life moves on, "lives" on...but without the ones central to our lives...the one we love. Thats why it always hurt when you revisit magic because, while the magic and glittery, and glimmer ..still all there.. the one who created it, isnt anymore.
12:00 I will still always love the reaction that Tom Felton gave in an interview when he discovered that his Musical character was played by a girl. He literally was stunned and had no idea. XD
I was hoping that they’d talk about how HBC punctured Neville’s eardrum because I’ve always been so curious about that one
The mention of Alan Rickman broke a tear to my eye. All I could think was wands up.
I totally agree! Makes my heart hurt just thinking about it…. So sad… So beautiful…
My bedroom now has a deep blue velvet bedcover with two accent piillow on it- one is embroidered with the phrase “Expecto Patronum” and the other has a gorgeous silver doe deer embroidered on it with “Always” embroidered in gold…. I love it so very much.
196: There’s a lot of things I had no idea about including three that’s now stuck in my head; Draco and Hermione in love, Harry in love with Bellatrix and Alan Rickman knew how it was going to end
Actually I always felt that a problem with Harry Potter (books and movies) is the lack of female friendships. They never talk about Hermione hanging out with Ginny or Luna or any other girl. When a new girl character was introduced it was always about how she related to Harry and Ron.
That’s because the books are written from Harry‘s point of you
@@ljd6711 *view
In the books Luna & Ginny are best friends, in fact, Ginny's daughter is named after Luna.
It's also implied that Hermione and Ginny had a strong relationship, considering she would stay with the Weasley's and in Ginny's room over break, along with Ginny confessing her feelings for Harry to Hermione.
But the books are written in Harry's perspective, so of course there are a lack of friendships because he wasn't in them.
Aw bless baby Tom Felton “its ok its good for the scene”. Little professional.
I just LOVE them ALL, but Alen Rickman will always be my favorite actor in the series!!! R.I.P. Alen Rickman, you'll never be forgotten!
I obviously adore Emma but I felt like they gave her way more time than Daniel who is literally Harry Potter
I though t Snape's death and Cedric's deaths were the saddest... Hearing his father's grief got me the most.
Everytime I heard Amos', "my boy, my son"
Man that's gutwrenching
HBC and Daniel’s relationship is amazing. I absolutely love HBC and this simply confirms why.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supports J.K. Rowling!
It was she who gave us these wonderful books, thanks to which these films were made. It was mother Ro, who created this magical universe, for which we will always be grateful to her.
It would be great if someone interviewed her about the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film.
Here are her stories and memories, I would love to listen and watch such an issue in which she would participate. A strong and brave woman who found the strength and was not afraid to express her opinion and defend it later.
PS: The most paradoxical thing is that only Evanna Lynch (Luna), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Tom Felton (Draco) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) stood up for J.K. Rowling...
And for some reason I am sure with all my heart that if Alan Rickman were alive now, then he would have sided with her.
Thank you J.K. Rowling, we remember you, and we are with you!
#IStandWithJKRowling
I bet Daniel's patronus is a cougar after that love note to Helena.
I miss Alan Rickman too! Gone too soon.
I've always been amazed at Jason Isaacs. He plays such a great bad guy but in real life he seems such a nice guy.
It’s ironic he didn’t want to play 2 children’s fantasy villains when he played General Zhao in Avatar The Last Airbender. I think he also told one of the actors of that show that everybody just wanted to talk about that show during film festival season and he wanted to talk more about the films he was in.
I can’t believe that when I was younger I *never* saw the difference between the two Dumbledore actors. Now that I’m older, as I’m looking back on it, I feel like Harris gave off a way more old vibe, like extremely wise and calm, Gambon gave those same vibes but with more joy I feel.
I absolutely loved this reunion I got so emotional at the end.
BIggest takeaway - how shameful both Warner and many of these actors are with respect to J K Rowling.
I was screaming inside my head like 10 year old girl when emma and tom was talking about their feelings ❤️❤️❤️
I loved when nick cave was played when harry and hermine were dancing
This reunion made me cry 😭
10:13 Daniel really is into older women, he did confess he lost his virginity to an older girl, rumored to be his hairdresser 7 years his senior 😆
You say that these are things no one knew. But I think everyone knew about the candles and that Alan Rickman knew the ending.
The one with Emma and Tom is just so adorable. I mean who wouldn't love Emma.
Omg they cut the battle between belatrix and sirius??? 🥺 I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THOSE!!!! 😭 HP franchise made wand battle so epic! Becuase if you think of it, wands wouldn't be as a cool as gun's and other weaponry battles, but they madenit so cool, intense, magical and terrifying! 💯 One of the best franchise ever! Great casting, effects everything is perfect! ❤️
I think the reason it was cut was because they wanted the focus to be on the Voldermort, Dumbledore duel. This really had to be epic, the 2 arch enemies facing off a against each other
#4
Now that's a plot twist we could all get behind.😳🤤
Damn Daniel😅
191: If she did quit, I can’t imagine anyone else playing Hermione. Emma Watson is amazing as Hermione
When Snape and Dumbledore died in the movies I just cried because it was so sad. Rest in peace to both of them.
Ironically, Lockhart isn't a hero, he's a villain too.
They originally wanted Hugh Grant for the role but couldn't do it because of scheduling conflicts
@@rumblefish9 really? This is news for me. I remember reading an article that stated how the casting director should have cast Hugh Grant as Gilderoy Lockhart. It claimed that Grant would've made a closer-to-book portrayal of Lockhart.
Branagh gave one of his best performances as Lockhart. Its really a small role for an outstanding actor but he did it so well you understood why Hermione had a crush on him- and why the boys all thought he was an idiot!
Helena is so adorable teasing Daniel and Gary Oldman
"Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart was among the most spot on casting choices"
..... I have never heard anyone who thinks this. If anything, it's usually that he was one of the worst choices.
Well you have now- i thought he was excellent
I can't imagine Jason Isaacs playing Lockhart. He's just too good as the villain in almost all of his roles!
Yeah it would've been odd
In Creatures part of Creating the World of Harry Potter, it is mentioned thstone of the crew did tell Richard the truth about Fawkes. Apparently, Richard's reaction was *bleep* off.
Unforgivable that they did not have Jj Rowling there!
So it is currently 11:55 p.m. on Friday January 21st 2022.
So tonight I watched the 20th anniversary thing and it was the first time that Harry Potter ever made me cry I think. Hogwarts and the rest of the Harry Potter/Wizarding World has always been me emotional, but tonight it was as something more. It was so wonderful to see all of the actors and actresses together again and just hearing about their experiences. It was truly sublime.
I can't wait for the day I go to the Harry Potter world in Orlando Florida. It's my number one dream travel spot.
Rickman was the best thing to happen to Harry potter IMO
I always liked him as an actor (especially in Galaxy Quest) But he really shined in Harry Potter.
Bro I could never imagine watching a Harry Potter movie without Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, It would've felt very wrong. 😂😂
Why ?
it would legit ruin the whole franchise if it was a new actress halfway through
@@lexkanyima2195 She wanted to leave the Franchise after Order of the Phoenix because she got too overwhelmed by fame.
@@D.7458 because of the pressure
@@lexkanyima2195 😂
She had no problem saying they love eachother with Tom, but she laughed Rupert off. How very nice of her...
Of course she laughed-she felt like Rupert was her brother
They are still people. She's obviously closer to Felton. Remember the Ron and hermonie relationship is fake.
@@srkh8966 I remember an interview where they asked Rupert Grint who will Hermione end up with? “Hopefully not Ron” 😅
This interview was after the first movie.
The Jason Isaacs as Lockhart is interesting but I flipped that and gave myself the creeps. Kenneth Branagh as Malfoy.
Than Dan and HBC interaction just warmed my icy heart stg 🖤🖤🖤
A lot of these you’d know if you watched the behind the scenes stuff, like Alan knowing how the series ends, the candles, Emma nearly leaving etc.
I watched it since the New Years Day morning and I love it every single piece of it and was blown away when Emma and Tom mentioned that they actually in love plus seeing Rupert Dan and the other cast noticed that Emma had a hard time before HP 5 that she was feeling left out as the only female character that must’ve been hard on her and when Dan wrote HBC a love letter i thought it was cute and adorable but poor Dan hes must be so embarrassed about it but im glad he read it aloud and that they have a great laugh about it plus i too got emotional at the end it almost made me cry and seeing the cast the crew the producers the directors were so emotional during the final day of Death Hallows
Breathe
@@strathconan73 im breathing its just there’s so much to say
Amazing thank you for this video
Glad you liked it!
I wish some more of the actors came on, yet the only one I know with a hugely busy schedule was Umbridge's actress. She's filming the Crown. I'm surprised Lupin's didn't show up to talk on things though. And I mistakened Oldman for Gambon briefly. It was a good reunion though.
The whole show was just emotional....❤
The fact that Richard Harris thought the animatronic was real and they never told him it wasn’t is the sweetest thing
2022 and still the best films ever 💙💙
198: Those candles look so cool!
Can we get Extended Cuts of the Films for the 25th, 30th, or even 100th Anniversary?
100th Anniversary? by that time most of us who had watched Harry Potter movies when they first came out or in the case of the producers and cast won't be alive . And those who are alive by the time of Harry Potters 100th Anniversary "PROPERLY" would not care because they PROPERLY would of not been born yet.
The biggest reveal was how ungrateful these stars were to JK Rowlings.......
I think Kenneth Branagh and Jason Isaacs could’ve played opposite characters well. Seeing Jason as a dandy would’ve been equally hilarious in a different way than Kenneth and vice versa for a dark, bitter, evil Malfoy. Kenneth would’ve nailed it, too, but in a different way.
I had a friend in high school who drew a picture of what he thought God looked like. He drew a guy with a beer belly and smoking a crack pipe. Pointing at Earth and saying that he was high when he made it. Blasphemous I know but it’s kind of funny too.
Lucky tom felton. Hermione was my biggest crush, she help me discover what i like in a woman. I like a smart schoollie, cute, nice smile and long beautiful hair, but on top of her game academically and have a great time to look out for you. Like " im scare for u harryy", and my fav "Stop, your going to take someones eye out, and ur saying it wrong, its Leviosa not levio-sa." Gotta love her.
Rickman was taken way too soon, such an amazing actor
I’m not crying, you’re crying! 🥺😍
Snape's broken heart gets me every time.
