      me too! For various reasons (mainly because of my mom) I've never really got into harry potter when I was a child, I've seen the first movie when I was 12, and read the first 4 books during 9th and 10th grade. What really made the movie for me was the set/prop design and the music, everything else comes secondary, really, those are the elements that made it truly magical. As for today, the Philosopher's stone is still my favourite, it's the one I like the best in terms of visuals, but also because I think it's the most cohesive, from a narrative point of view...maybe because it's more simple and there are relatively less characters, and the stakes are lower, I don't know..

    I don’t think people realise what an amazing job the directors and producers did.
    Movies from books are almost never, NEVER approved of by the general public.
    Countless book series with huge fandoms have tried to achieve what Harry Potter has, and they almost always fail, e.g. Divergent, Percy Jackson, Shadowhunters, etc.

    • @Vousie
      @Vousie 2 місяці тому

      Well, Twilight did amazing: The series actually made *more* money relative to its budget than the Harry Potter series did.
      Hunger Games also did quite well. And Divergent I don't really think was the movie's fault - it was simply that audiences were growing tired of that type of movie (and/or it was coming out at a similar time as the tail end of Hunger Games...)

    John Williams doesn’t overlay his work onto the image, he roots it deep into the story universe. The similarity and references, the grandeur Williams carries on from famous works of classical composers is one of my favorite aspects and proves that Williams isn’t just a creator but also a curator who reinvents what was loved in the past, bringing it into the present.
