    Just had left eye surgery Nov 9th. And now it’s come back a month later!!! It was good for a month and the confidence I had felt like a happy drug. I spent 8k on this surgery. I see my dr in a few days. I really hope he gives me a discount for another surgery. He’s a good Dr. he has over 2000 surgeries of experience. I’m so sick of this left eye. 2 eyelid surgeriesand 1 strabismus surgery. It Affects my day to day living so much. Driving, computer usage , going out. I’ve become so recluse from it and then once i thought it was over , it’s like I’m back to square 1. All my social problems stem from this.

    I have 2 children with nystagmus, one of which also has strabismus. Both are due to ocular albinism.
    My child with only nystagmus underwent strabismus surgery and the results were incredible.
    My child with both is about to undergo strabismus surgery in both eyes in a few days and I'm a nervous wreck about it.
    It's necessary. At the risk of sounding egotistical, I was a top 1% gifted student. My child is so much more intelligent than I was at his age it's scary. But he's struggling in school because even with reasonable assistance he just can't see.
    Your videos have given me optimism. Thank you!

      Good luck! Strabismus and nystagmus together can be very challenging, but it is definitely possible to overcome. Vision therapy can help with both if you are interested in going that route! strabismussolutions.com/findvt/

    I had 15 diopters of esotropia, and after surgery I had 20 diopters of exotropia. It has gotten better and im now at about 6 diopters of exotropia. When i try to focus out of the eye I had surgery on, my good eye turns out. I cant afford therapy and my prism glasses give me headaches and strain.

    I’m sorry if this question is rude but- him in your profile picture I see one of your eyes is squinting more than the other when you smiled. Is this because of your starbusmis? Because the same thing happens to me 😭I try so hard to make the other eye squint more so I don’t look dumb in pics

    • @strabismustostereopsis7799
      @strabismustostereopsis7799  3 місяці тому

      It's not rude at all! My weak (amblyopic, lazy) eye definitely squints more. Especially when it is bright. It's mostly because it is more sensitive to light. It is annoying, but many people have this.

    Hello , I did my strabismus surgery 2 weeks ago. I’m not have double vision but my issue is my eyes don’t seem to be working together yet. My doc does not recommend vision therapy. I think I’m getting some hypertropia at a distance. What is your opinion on vision therapy. Does it really help?

      I think your video answers my previous question. How long did you do vision therapy and does insurance normally pay for it?

    • @strabismustostereopsis7799
      @strabismustostereopsis7799  4 місяці тому

      I worked with vision therapy on and off for 4 years. Insurance didn't pay anything for me, but that isn't the case for everyone. If you go to strabismussolutions.com/findvt/ I can help you find an office.

      @@strabismustostereopsis7799 no, my question is how long did it take you to go for eye therapy from the date/day surgery was done? Did you go for therapy within the same week you received the surgery or did you go for therapy weeks after the surgery was done.

    I was born with strabismus or double vision I was operated on at 15 Mos but the Dr got the measurement wrong and wanted to do another one My parents not wanting me to go through this again consulted with another Dr who told them I could use corrective lenses Which in the long run haven't worked out even exercise doesn't completely give me a single image ( however I am interested in anything new that might help?) I inherited this from my Dad's Dutch side as his cousins 2 out of 3 boys had strabismus too In the past I got straight As in art classes because I could always look through one eye Now i'm in my 70s and my vision is very blurred now and I have to use magnifying lenses besides my glasses if you can believe that? Thank you for helping all of us!
