Just started watching the video. I have run this several time in my RZR and will run it in my Jeep once I get out that way with it. It is an easy trail IMO but very fun and scenic.
How did you manage to do this without seeing much of anyone else going up in your direction or down against you? Great technical sections videos, your Jeep is really strong.
Prescott Arizona was the Capitol at one point in time. Prescott was gold country. The back way to Crown King was that highway to get there in the wild west. Was called Senator Highway. Gold mines near the top. Crown King is about 6000 feet. Forest runs to Prescott at the top.
Great video and description. I have not done the backway yet but plan to sometime this year. How much extra time did it take you because of the recording? I know that slows you down. I felt sorry for Kateryna. Those were some steep hills to climb. I bet she did a lot of walking.
The difference between driving a trail and filming it can be quite significant.depending on the trail. This was a tough one because there was so much climbing up ahead. It probably added a good two or more hours to the day. Had we just done this trail, it wouldn't have been too bad, but before this, we did New River Canyon which was a pretty tough one to film as well, so we were pretty trashed by the end of the day as that was almost 13 hours total between the two.
Great video! Have a 22 Jeep JT Diesel with 35” KO2’s. No lift with overland setup. Planning to run this is the next couple of weeks. Do you see me having any issues? I see a lot of people on the Jeep BOH app saying stock suspension Jeeps should not run this, especially concerning the final no/bypass obstacle. Thoughts? Any info will help!
I am pretty sure that you would do fine, you just need to pick the right lines. A Gladiator MIGHT scrape a little near the end. It kind of depends on if has gotten more washed out since we did it.
35:33 I don’t think that’s a alternative bypass ( I wish ) We usually leave 9am and when we get up there you can stop at the store or go eat at the restaurant
It was listed as a bypass on trailsoffroad, which is why I mentioned it. I am hoping to have time to do this again, or some other nice trails when I am out there for Overland Expo.
Range cattle need at a minimum of 5 gallons of water per day to thrive. Water is out there somewhere for them. If you're short on, or out of water look around for theirs.
So good! Do you think an F150 would fit on that trail? Not the more difficult sections, but in generality. I'm coming close to finishing outfitting my truck for overlanding, and I'm watching your videos with awe, and wondering which trails I might be able to traverse. It's lifted with 35" tires, so I have a lot of clearance. No lockers (yet), but a limited slip dif. I'm not looking for anything extreme, but to have some great experiences in great locations. Thanks for these amazing videos.
Where is the starting point? Did you start at the point where the white Dodge Charger passed you? Can you show the route you took from pavement to pavement?
Why is this a “badge” trail and Broken Arrow isn’t. 🤷♂️🤷♂️‼️‼️ When I asked Jeep about Broken arrow they said people need to nominate it. Which I did.

Yeah, it was fun….but, did you know about the cult? Need to watch the video to learn more about that. :)
Very good video going to hit that trail this year. I have a 4inch lift and 285 right now love Jeeping in my State of Arizona
Thanks for taking us along with you
Love that trail, esp with the snow. It's been so long and have got to do it again soon.
While you are in the area run the Bloody Basin to the sheep bridge if you haven't before. Amazing scenery.
We did this a few weeks ago, but we have put that on our list for the next time we visit Arizona
There is also Tabel Mesa to sheep's bridge there is another route from Cave Creek that I haven't tried yet
Great video. I will be driving down from WA state to visit family in Phoenix I'm looking forward to giving this trail a go during my visit.

Good timing I guess

Beautiful jeep
Thank you, but just wait…we just had it all buffed out and ceramic coated by Adam’s Polishes
@@TrailTraveler those 38’s made the trail seem easy!
I don’t want to rock crawl but just looking for a shortcut to crown king. I’ve got an old wrangler with 33s . Can a stock vehicle do it?
It really depends on conditions and experience level. You might struggle or scrape in a few areas
This looks like a fun trail.
I just finished this back way trail to CK in my 2015 Toyota Highlander AWD lol
Holy crap - 😂

There isn't anything that should stop you. Just the side obstacles could be a little tricky on some of them.
Good to know. Thank you!
That engine and trans ok with 38” tires?wow!
We did regear to 5:13s
No bypass road by the mine area?
Nope
Looks like this would be very fun at night.
What’s the crunching munching sounds?
Actually, it turned out to be a small rock in the brake rotor dust cover.

The easiest way to describe it is to tell you to look up the trail on trailsoffroad.com since that is exactly how we went
Challenger, get it right.

I am ok with it being a badge trail, and Broken Arrow should be too. What absolutely shouldn’t be is Table Mesa!!
@@TrailTraveler you are definitely correct there.
They don’t make it a badge of honor trail because it already too busy.
The cult story was pure fiction, just fyi. Unless you were joking. 😆
Google: the cult of crown king
I did this whole trail in my stock Trd pro 1st gen tacoma ... im not impressed
you have a vid?
Awesome video!!!
