Parsis are treated like royalty because they are extremely rich and prosperous. They have a lot of religious similarities with Hinduism and they value education and socioeconomic mobility. So yes, Hindus see Parsis very favourably and don't often even realize that they are not ethnically native to India. Since their arrival, they were very mercantile in nature so they were treated similarly to Vaishyas, because that was their occupation.

The Zoroastrians migrated to India after the Arab Invasions and asked an Indian King in Moden Day Gujarat Region, to grant them a Piece of Land where they would continue to burn their "Sacred Fire" (Their Representation of God in Zoroastrianism).
Zoroastrians never allowed Non Zoroastrians to come within a few miles of the Sacred Fire. The Indian King agreed to all these terms and let them live in India peacfully and never bothered them and it was forbidden for Indian Citizen to make contact or bother the Zoroastrians, Such was the Respect and Promise given by the Indian Kings to Zoroastrian Community.
This is how Zoroiastrianism flourished in India even after it was wiped out in Persia. We Hindus take great pride about this, In an era where Invasions and Wars were common, Our Great Kings gave refuge to Foreigners and allowed them to settle in our own Territory and Follow their own Religion, While ensuring our Hindu Culture and Belief never merged with theirs.

Parsis in India are not treated like royalty but treated with respect, since parsis dont break laws, but generate wealth and well integrated themselves to local culture and traditions. They earned respect from natives. Also they are used by the right wing to tell Indian Muslims,, "learn from them" how to behave. Today Parsis know nothing about Iran except some of their names still carry the title "Irani". They are totally blended with Indian ethos. @Atheist Republic

There are several Parsee people resident in the west that have been famous as musicians and the best known is Fredie Mercury of "Queen" but there is also Zubin Mehta a very famous conductor and then there is the amazing pianist and composer Sorabji who had a Parsee father and lived in England reaching an age of 96 -his most famous work is the "Opus Clavicembalicum" -the longest non repetitive music piece ever published going for 5 hours and he also wrote a symphony one thousand pages long.Richard Strauss the very famous early 20th century German composer wrote a very famous tone poem called "Thus Spake Zarathustra" inspired of course by Nietzsche used by Stanley Kubrick in his iconic film "2001 a Space Odyssey" -it depicts the prophet Zarathustra aka Zoroaster viewing the sunrise from a mountain top. When the Tata company of India(Run by a Zoroastrian or Parsee) launched their new mini car several years ago they used this piece as their theme music.

Your understanding of India is atrocious. Indians are very welcoming to outsiders who respect the culture of the land. We’ve had Greeks, Scythians, Hepthalites, Ahom (of Tai origin) all assimilate very well.
Also, Parsis were not always high status. They rose up only in the last 200 years as they were one of the first to westernize and were favored by the Brits as racially they could relate to them. They were also involved in the Opium trade. However, they used their success and privilege very responsibly by building important public spaces in Bombay and starting many philanthropic initiatives.

We have two groups of people in india that are of Iranian decent the Parsees and the Iranis. The Parsees are descendants of ancient Persians they are all Zoroastrians because Persians were Zoroastrians. The Iranis came later during the l Islamic invasions of india. Iranis came in as Islamic conquers mostly under Turkic rule. During the Turkic invasions of india, the Turks invaded with iranis, and Pashtoons who were newly islamafied groups, their motive was jihad on Hindus as they considered Hindus as kaffirs. Both Hindus and Parsee Zoroastrians were considered kaffirs by invading Muslim sunni Turks, and shia Iranis. Lastly india and Iran both share a Aryan heritage. India’s Vedic civilization is Aryan and north india was called Aryavarta (land of Aryas) back then North india included Pakistan and Afghanistan parts of eastern iran. When Persian empire expanded it also occupied Afghanistan and western India. So those territories went back and forth between Indo Aryan influence to Persian influences. Also in ancient time religion was mostly tied with ethnicity. The Judaism for example is a religion but it’s also based on Semitic lineage. The Parsees in india their Zoroastrian religion is tied to their ethic lineage, they don’t allow converts. Hinduism is also tied somewhat to lineage, Hindus trace their clan lineage back to Aryan Sages called Rishis. Only later religions reformed the etho religious identity in order to politically expand To expand dominance through conquest imperialism and colonialism. Islam and Christianity expanded through conquest, slavery, imperialism, and conquest. Islam spread through the sword, Christianity spread through guns. Very few non ethno centric religions expanded without violence, I can only think of Buddhism. Buddhism didn’t start out as a religion but it was a yogic order of monks with Gautama Buddha as their Guru (enlightened sage master). The Religions of india are called Arya Dharma, (the enlightened pathways) all of them were started by a sage that taught esoteric yogic mysticism to a select few disciples. Some gurus became extremely popular to a point they had a cult following over time it became a “separate religion” but all of these gurus were teaching yogic mysticism. Shiva and the Saptha Rishis of Sanatha Dharma(aka Hinduism), Mahaveer of Jain Dharma (Jainism), Gautama Bhudda of Dhaama (Buddhism), Guru Nanak of Sikhi Dharm (Sikhism). Fun fact even Zoroastrians used to called their religion Dahman related to the Sanskrit word Dharma. Hindus don’t have issue with other culturals and religions as long as those cultures show mutual respect, Hindus have a issue with Islam and 800 years of Islamic jihad on india persecution of Hindus, enslavement of Hindus, and see slavery of Hindu woman. They have the same issue with the British but rather than a religion, the British used racial superiority. Muslims used religious superiority. Also Indians don’t believe in Aryan invasion, they believe they are the aryans and that Indus Valley is a Vedic civilization but the euro centrists don’t believe it.

Has nothing to do with Islam nor casteism. Islam isnt even an old religion. Parsis have managed to remain rich merchants in India more or less, and so they had less to worry and complain about. Its all related to Class. Ones who r in lower class will complain more since theg will be susceptible to being exploited more.

Funny how the same thing can be said about the word Hindu and india etc. Hindu is Arabicised version of Sindhu the name of the ethnic group from the river Sindh. And Hindu can be simply an ethnic denomination but of course it’s also become synonymous with religion even though many hindus are not religious. It’s even become political. I guess it’s funny how the same thing happened with Parsi in this case.

Parsis before the British Raj were like all other communities but were the most vocal minority against Muslims in India thanks to their history with Islam and riots were common between these two groups. Since Parsis were open to learning the English language they were chosen as the preferred people for opium trade with China by the British which helped them earn big money making them an affluent minority. Hindus in general respect hard working people, which is why communities like Jews, Parsis even Chinese are respected for what they did with their hardwork. Special status is given to communities like Jews and Parsis since they also align with the narrative of Islamic persecution which is all the rage in India these days. Not to mention notable Parsis like Tata helped build the Indian economy which makes Parsis undeclared "upper caste" in Indian society.

  • @TilikumMolly

For me, Hinduism is a further development of Zoroastrianism. There are too many branches and deviations from Zoroastrianism to Hinduism due to the undeveloped tradition of writing. This condition, over time, made the process of inheriting the teachings of monotheism contained in Zoroastrianism become very vague due to various deviations in the branches of Hinduism.
The above situation is very natural due to the process of teaching knowledge and beliefs only relying on oral traditions, which were very strong at that time. And indeed, many religious teachings have deviated over time. This fate was not unique to Zoroastrianism.
Unfortunately, when the tradition of writing began to strengthen, and Zoroastrian/Hindu religionists began to write down their religious teachings (in smriti and sruti), what happened was that each branch leader confirmed each branch of Hinduism and its respective deviations. So this is what we see and accept today.

Armin Iran was never Arabized but Islamized. There is a difference. The Iranian people preserved their language and culture and so they were not Arabized. However, they were Islamized. That is, their religion over time became Islam.
I also don't mind Farsi or Parsi. They are both fine. That said, I like accuracy. Therefore, I usually use Parsi instead of Farsi. Zoroastrianism or Mazdayansa are known as the Parsi or Irani community because of their geographical origin.
The Parsi community has contributed a lot to the Indian nation and this is why they are celebrated by some Indian people.
As an ethnic Persian, I believe all people are equal independent of their ethnicity, ancestry, nationality...etc.

Persian language became the court language of Muslim rulers in most of northern and central India in later times (~1500 AD and later). That is when Persian became a royalty language.
Parsis do not even speak Persian at home. They all speak Gujarati. They are treated like special people mostly because of the unique way they blended into the larger Indian society. They never converted the local nor did they have any friction. Later, when Bombay became a British trading port, large number of Parsis from Gujarat migrated there to do trade. They quickly grew to prominence due to the edge they had over "natives" (British treated Parsis as non-native due to their "pure" Iranian descent, and hence they had more privilege as compared to their "native" Indian counterparts). Due to this privilege and their good sense of business, Parsis became among the whose-and-whose of Bombay. They are considered to be among the "architects" of South Bombay. Thus, the Parsis became British adjacent in many different ways. This is the reason Pasis are treated like royalty in India.

I'm right aren't I x) I think the reason why the Hindu nationalist cRe so much is because it was exploited by the nazis when Indian nationalism was getting stronger in the 1940s, causing indian are like pseudo-ayrans and the nazis were like quasi aryans. There was a legion of Indian nationalist fascists in the waffen-ss. It was the tiger legion or the azad legion. Thats why mein kamf is a bestseller in India.

LMAO 🤣. Your comment is so funny. Literally, Indians are pure, white Germans and never faced any racism whatsoever? Like what reality are you living in?
