Tanks for the video, after following this, I got these mappings to work: Auto 0 = West = A Auto 1 = South = B Auto 2 = East = C Auto 3 = = North = x Auto 4 = y Auto 5 = z Auto6 = left shoulder Auto7 = right shoulder
I absolutely love this controller, haven't used it with Retro Arch yet but I use it with stand alone MAME and Saturn emulators (my favorite controller for CAPCOM fighters), later I'm going to use this guide to set it up with the Saturn and Genesis cores
@@ArchadesGames Most definitely! This controller managed to bench my former go-to MAME controller (my X-Arcade tank stick, now of which I use only on special occasions)
@@ArchadesGames If you go that route I highly recommend the already mentioned X-Arcade stick, managed to snag mine on eBay years ago for a good price, I also recommend the Atari Fight Stick , that one you can get with or without a Raspberry PI3 installed, I bought my without and installed a PI4 but it can be used on PC as well, though I'd search around a bit their selling well above MSRP at the moment, but both are very well made and durable (my grandsons approve) , BTW thanks for the tutorial, got it up and running on the Saturn core no problem but honestly im surprised it wasnt more "automatic" for lack of a better term, I also tried it with the PicoDrive Genesis core and at least in Dinput mode i didn't have to set up anything, just did a run through of Street Fighter 2 special champ edition and it worked flawlessly (just remember to set the controls from 3 to 6 button in retroarch) , while not technically the most impressive port, for some reason its my favorite port on the 16 bit consoles
Wouldn't it be great if retroarch just let your remap for cores by pushing a button so you don't need to jump into a game at all?das if itl yumap ontrls based on core function rather than the backwards system it uses.
You know there's an easier way you don't need Megaman and have to do all this mental jiggery. First go to "Settings->input->Retropad binds" and rebind the buttons (a,b,x,y,l1,l2,r1,r2) to the saturn pad in a way you can remember. Then load a game go to quickmenu->controls to set it correctly, since you know what they're set to it only takes a few seconds.
As much as I love the Retro-Bit controllers, the one thing I hate about them is that in xinput the triggers are on Z and C. It always trips me up when playing PC games with it. I would really prefer the bumpers to be there. And there isn't even a macro to swap them.
Thanks for the video. It's really helped a lot. Luckily I had a copy of Rockman X4 so I could follow along. Unfortunately though several of my buttons failed to register at all. X, Y, Z and C don't even work. I'm running on a Mac and using 8BitDo M30 controller. Also, some of the RetroArch option screen seems slightly different comparing mine to the video. Just thought I'd let people know it is slightly different on a Mac! - which is annoying cos I felt I was so close to a solution with this vid. If anyone has any ideas please let me know...
@@ArchadesGames oh you didn't mention that in your video, I've just remapped the Saturn pad now in main input settings and saved it, hope that doesn't affect everything when I change to a different controller

One day I might get a nice arcade stick 😂

Can you do a tutorial on how to remap the buttons for the SteamDeck? It defaults to using the shoulder buttons as the A buttons.
it isn't just wireless, the retro bit saturn usb controller is exactly the same as this too with the same ridiculous layout in retroarch
Im using Beetle Saturn core and the controls it shows doesn't match yours. Mine has no C button listed.
Same here, no c and no z, looking for a video that shows how to configure every button in the settings , this isnt the problem I am seeing
Same...

Sweet!
Thank you for taking the time to show this. Have you tried it using batocera ?
I don't use Batocera

Do they register in other programs
@@ArchadesGames good point! - let me just check...
Yes, they do! All the buttons work fine on OpenEmu.
try holding start + b (or just start) for about 5 seconds, it will change to xinput, see if that works
It works now! Thanks for your help! : )@@avegee24tv
How can i map buttons on steam?
Will this work with the usb version of the controller?
Steps will be the same but the mappings might be different.
Also, csn I save the controls specifically to the core?
Yes it's shown in the video
Will this remap work for using on the sega saturn console?
No
So this should work OK with retroarch on Xbox Series X/S?
No, Xbox only works with Xbox controllers
doing it this way is utterly useless as doesn't fix the menu navigation disorder on this pad
In XInput D-Pad navigates the menu and A / B are confirm / cancel.
