I've been doing silver w/ a 1:1 ratio of Wella T18 & 050 toners for years. I have natural Asian black hair. Roots take 2x bleach(I use Scwarzkopf BlondMe bleach), their 20vol developer for an hour each. That lifts me to lvl 10 platinum blond. 30min toner gives me that perfect neutral light silver. Toners won't lift your hair. It acts like a very diluted dye and is meant to only cancel out unwanted tones. Only bleach can lift the overall level of hair. I've been home bleaching for 11yrs. and this works for me.

You should have put it on dry hair, and you need to leave it on more then 15 mins and not only that you need to put a lot more product on the roots then the amount your putting on

Next time you bleach your roots ( I recommend bleach London products) 10-15 minutes before you wash the bleach off your roots apply more bleach to the yellow areas and it should lift to the same colour as the ends without too much damage xx

Next time try both silver and add a little violet. Violet cancels out yellow. And leave it in for half an hour or more.

for grey, i know this vid is old, use a tiny bit and i mean a tiny bit of the black dye in a whole ton of conditioner, that will give you a grey that will fade to light grey

You can do one of two things to get silver hair color fast and easy one get the pravana violet hair color and mix it with white conditioner or buy the silver shampoo and conditioner and do it that way or buy the special effects toner and do it that way. I have the same problem when I go to blonde hair only on the top of my hair does it stay blonde so this will help.

Your roots are as dark as mine and you HAVE to do it twice, better to use a lower vol and do twice, I use 30 vol the first time then 20 vol the 2nd

Try another bleach bath on the roots and use fenola purple shampoo from amazon it’s amazing for toning hair and isn’t expensive.

I know this video is a few months old and I'm not sure what bleach and developer you use but make sure you are using a blue bleach with a 30 volume developer and leave it on for 40-60 minutes. Follow with a stronger toner as la riche silver toner will only work if your hair is an extreamly pale yellow with no brassyness. As for toners, search for Wella silver toner as I can't remember the name of it right now but it comes in a small bottle. Also the best and strongest silver shampoos I have used are Bleach London and Lee Stafford.

Just remembered the toner, it's Wella T14 'Silver Lady'

I know it's cheaper to do it yourself, and trust me, I go for box colour all the time. However, when it comes to bleaching/lifting your hair safely and enough for silver hair, pastel colours ect..go to a hairdressers. Once you have the desired amount of lift, you can then box colour away. Trying to match your roots to your bleached hair is a real pain in the arse and is hella tricky.
Also, olaplex will help massively with over processed hair.

Not every one is willing to or able to pay the amount of money it takes to bleach and tone super long hair - you are looking at around 200£ in the UK and around 150-200€ in western Europe.
I got tired of paying for my root lift once a month and pay around 70-100€ for it when I can do it myself, with professional colors instead of market box colors [nothing wrong with them].
I see comments such as yours on every bleaching video - I'm quite certain the people who choose to bleach/dye their hair at home are doing it for a reason.

    • @Imbhind7proxies
      @Imbhind7proxies 6 років тому +3

Sometimes, yeah It's a cost issue. Like I said, I use at home colouring the majority of the time. However, when you're trying to get almost white hair, 7 out of 10 times it'll end up going wrong because it hasn't lifted enough or because the bleach has touched lighter or previously bleached parts so it ends up patchy. People end up spending more trying to correct it and when that still doesn't work, they give up and go to a hairdressers because they have a combination of white, yellow and orange hair with root glare. Or, worst case scenario, they end up with gum hair because they've over processed it. If it's a cost issue, maybe putting some money to one side for a few weeks then getting it done professionally, is the way to go.
You see comments like mine on every bleaching video and you're right, there's a reason for that lol

Everyone's hair is different is probably the reason for mishaps. I've been bleaching my own for 11yrs. and have been silver for the last 4yrs. It's really easy to take my natural Asian lvl 1 black all the way to lvl 10 platinum blond in 2 goes, then to tone silver. I *hate* drugstore box dyes though. I use a salon bleach called Schwarzkopf BlondMe(20vol developer too), as well as Olaplex. To get silver I use Wella T18 & 050 toners in a 1:1 ratio. It gives me that nice pastel neutral silver.

The yellow part of your hair was still not light enough. If you really want to neutralize it properly, it needs to be lighter or use an actual chemical toner that will lift your hair.

Toner doesnt lift the hair, it deposits colour into the hair
