Every time we used Manic Panic in our salon on clients it always had to be done a 2nd time on the super pale blonde clients only. If there was still a slight bit of color in the hair then the manic panic was seamless. 🤷🏻♀️ I assumed it was from the porosity differences on the patchy areas.
This is still really cute.

It looks great! I've used manic panic many times (I have a mix of their turquoise and midnight blue on my hair right now) and have never had an issue with patchiness

My purple is so patchy & I thought I messed up but seeing this, I think it’s definitely Manic Panic. It was the first time I had used MP & literally that same purple shade and it did the same thing. I applied the color straight onto my roots the way you did and then applied the color diluted with conditioner from the shaft to the ends. And it’s fading horribly - even patchier.
When I do fashion colors I stick with the same brand and don’t mix brands because formulas can not agree and go patchy, which looks like what happened. But overall still cute and definitely fixable! I think if you stick a neon orange straight onto that pink it would be the color you were after

I only mix brands if I feel that the dye I used wasn't thick enough or if it's not the right pigment (if the pigment was too dark and I want it to be lighter). I do always make sure to check if the brand plays nicely with other brands. Ik Arctic Fox and Overtone do have this policy so I usually mix them together
i've been mixing brands for over a decade and find it necessary to get peak performance *shrug*

I’ve used Manic Panic a ton and I’ve never had the patchiness issue! That was weird that it started kind of foaming up when you were blending it. Manic panic is definitely thick but I kind of love that, I usually blend it with conditioner to dilute it and make it go further
I LOVE Manic Panic. And yes, mixing it with conditioner stretches it. Best array of colors too. Ethical.

If you switch to manic panic you’ll be disappointed with the payoff and the fade out. Trust me. Lesson learned the hard way lol! Arctic fox is just superior. And the smell is delish amirite!? ❤️😂
Angela Russo I’ve never understood when people say that. I dyed my hair with hot hot pink on Dec31, and didn’t touch my hair until the end of a February because of how well the dye took to my hair (plus I like when the pink fades)

The owner of Arctic Fox is an animal abuser and a racist so maybe that'll be what gets you to change!
As they say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Manic Panic is good but it fades faster than Arctic Fox from my experience. However if you change your hair super often that may not be a bad thing for you.
In my experience, when I used manic panic, if it went foamy, I kept adding more and something had to do a second pass

Manic Panic is one of my go-to hair dyes, along with Arctic Fox and Lunar Tides. Never had a problem with it, but I also don't mix different brands because that can cause a bit of patchiness if the formulas don't play well together.

I’m surprised so many UA-camrs put semi perm hair color on dry hair. I’m a stylist and it’s so much easier to use these fashion colors when the hair is damp. It really helps spread the color and actually allows the color to last longer. I would highly suggest you try this one time and see how it works out.

Manic Panic is the only brand of temporary non-natural color in my local stores. So I have never tried mixing it with other brands. It works well, but BEWARE the blue... it stained my hair and I had green hair for weeks. Ended up having a professional fix it and going auburn. But I was applying for a new job anyways. I also like the thick gel feel of it. It's great for drip control, especially in a white bathroom.
I love Manics hot hot pink, one of my fave pink dyes for making a pastel pink that lasts! I don't recommend Lunar Tides, there pink is definitely more a purpley pink
I absolutely love hot hot pink, I’m actually going back to that colour soon. And if you let it fade completely, you end up with a really pretty colour

I honestly love how it turned out. Maybe try Porange or Electric Paradise from Arctic Fox to make it more neon. It is a bit patchy at the top but it's pretty easy to fix. Sometimes, I have to do it twice depending on the color

My main issue with manic panic is that the purple bleeds on EVERYTHING. That along with la riche directions purple. So much purple on clothes and pillow cases

Yeah, I personally find it a bit tricky to blend. I usually use conditioner and dilute the color, make it lighter and lighter. Like add a bit of the purple diluted with conditioner kind of in the middle of the pink and the purple. Otherwise it looks amazing!

I currently have what I think is the kind of hair colour you’re referring to! I mix bleach London tangerine dream with bleach London the big pink and a bit of conditioner as they are REALLY pigmented. It also looks nice with awkward peach by bleach London too but I find that you need to use that neat and you can get the same colour and colour pay off with the other two mixed with conditioner so the bottle lasts me longer as they’re resealable! Hope this helps x

I have found that's a common problem that happens with manic panic. Due to its thick constancy it holds its ground a bit and doesn't tend to blend well. You could go over it again and it may correct itself but and usually it just holds it place.

That purple! Maybe next time mix a bit of pink into the orange? The pink may have overpowered the orange. Love the white blonde! I’ve wanted to try that for ages but my scalp but can’t handle bleach. Always love the looks... when I blend, I pinch the hair between my fingers and rub the colors together, really focusing on pushing the color into the hair and making sure it’s saturated. I have go to tiny section by tiny section bc my hair is so thick, even as a pixie... or I’ll have crazy missed sections. Ends suck up color like CRAZY. My ends never let go of temp color, they are currently black. Eek! You’re hair is going to look great after a couple washes. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you!!! It’s always great!

My hair is kind of similar what you were going for! I got a Porange color by diluting Arctic Fox Sunset Orange And Virgin Pink on most of my hair! Then I used Virgin Pink and Purple Rain on the front!

i find that happens a lot with thick consistency dyes, manic panic is one of them, or if i mix dyes with a thick conditioner... some hair bits that are more porous absorb all the pigment and then other bits just get coated with that 'white' pigment-less thick cream that's left and the result colour is not so even.
when it's all hair with one colour it's fine as it looks just like 'highlights' lol
it will probably look much better after one or two washes ;)
that violet on the roots is my fave hair colour ever, but after one wash i am always left with a periwinkle blue... oh well x)
Inês Paúl yes! Same that's why I don't mix conditioner with many of my colours unless I really need to mix a colour I want. Yeah I think when I wash it, it'll even out
The colors are gorgeous! I never liked Manic Panic tho. My hair takes color great but that brand is the only one that never worked well for me.

Hair color is amazing love it. But With manic panic it's best to shower shampoo your hair an then after your done your shower you apply the dye to towel dried hair. I used manic panic shocking blue and it turned out amazing.

You need to get your hands on some pulp riot hair dye! They have a neon collection. I use the lava and the candy shades to make a neon peach. Its wonderful!

Lmao I just put blue manic panic on my virgin blonde hair the other day. It came out quite patchy and teal but my hair wasn't all the same colour to start with so I can't really expect more.

Manic panic never sticks to my hair and always ends up patchy. I dyed my hair blue to green and the dark blue ended up being more of a light bluish purple and the green didn’t last very long
